A piece of advice that doesn't show up here (and all those other "expert" videos) or in the instructions is you might need a tiny bit of downward pressure on the end of the filter as you pressed it in. With out that the filter won't budge.

Stuck filter hack. - removed the filter cover/shroud, placed a steaming cup of water under the filter where it plugs in. After a few minutes it released.

It also helps when you power off the fridge before taking the filter out. There should be an option to do that on the fridge screen.

He also forgot to say to turn off the ice maker. If you don't and it cycles while the filter is out you'll have water coming out of the open connection. Sure, given how fast you can replace the filter it might not happen (like during his demonstration) but there is a chance and frankly its not that difficult to do.

That worked for years until it did not. I push and hit it with a hammer and it will not pop out. It is a factory part.
