After a few weeks of getting reacquainted with a skateboard, I figured I’d try kick flips again. I watched this video, got on my board and pulled a perfect kick flip on my second attempt. This video is perfect instruction and I appreciate it!
Same here…I bought a board again when I bought my son one. I originally started in ‘74. We mostly skated DIY ramps with me building the first one in my neighborhood as soon as my folks paved our driveway. We hadn’t even conceived of an Ollie yet so I learned to Ollie and kick flip in my 40s. I’m about to turn 60 and for whatever reason, I’ve been itching to skate again. This tutorial was super helpful but I misinterpreted one thing initially. Once I 'got' it then his tutorial makes total sense, but was tough. So the straight up the board and less off the side part got me. The key is to do that, but still flick the foot super hard. I tried to spin the board as hard as possible, for me as a novice, that was the biggest eureka.
I had this too but I solved it by placing my foot differently. When doing a kickflip your back foot should not be more than half way around the tail. And you should pop straight down. With the varial flip your back foot is more towards your the front of your board which makes it rotate
And i am a super good surfer, i can do olly 360 and airs 360 in surfboard but i was trynig kickflip for 15 years and my barin do not conect my body to use it the way it us to finish the kickflip

What I actually don’t know who that is
What’s wrong with what I said?
I’m not joking when I say this I’ve come back to skating after about a 4-5 year break and I’ve been landing some bad kickflips and a few good one but I watched this video and legit first try I did the best one since getting back on the board perfect tutorial
thks, i want to learn heelflip
Thank you so much. I can now do kick flips with ease. Not only that I took the fundamentals of what you said and landed 3 heel flips in a row. Never don't before.
I recently practiced kickflips for a hundred consecutive days to get rid of my rocket flip. I filmed a kickflip each day to keep track of the progress. I actually got rid of the rocket flip but I am still not super comfortable with the trick. I guess it will take another 100 days! 😂 Good tutorial! 👍👍
sooo how did it go?? 😂
@@karolinadudkova5482 I am working on the kickflips every day, but it's a damn slow process to get them cleaner. My main goal now is to extend the flicking leg which has proven to be quite the challenge. I can land most kickflips but they are not very pretty! 😃
@@fd_skate how’s it going now?
You make this seem so easy
The cursing is what makes this the best 😂
Oh no he cursed. What the big deal. It’s just a word that in reality isn’t bad, but we’re just brainwashed to think it is
@@somebodywhoskates7171 i said it’s funny not a problem at all
@@g9sneak7 yeah but there’s no reason to treat the word any differnt. You get what I’m saying. We were just brainwashed to think it’s a bad word but in reality it’s just another word
@@somebodywhoskates7171 yea I know it’s stupid. I guess it’s just informal
@@g9sneak7 I never said you said it was a problem.?
I’ve been flicking off the side of the board my entire life. Thank you!!
Me: trying to learn how to kickflip
Guy: *kickflips*
Me: 2:50
Dale's tutorials are on point! More Nollie and switch and fakie variations!!
How to hardflip in 10 minutes.
We want to see it!!!
What a hunk of a man that Dale Decker. I'm just here for his majestic eyes.
don’t nobody boutta kickflip in 5 minutes
LMALOOO
Antwuan dixon tho
This tutorial was super helpful but I misinterpreted one thing initially. Once I 'got' it then his tutorial makes total sense, but was tough.
So the straight up the board and less off the side part got me. The key is to do that, but still flick the foot super hard. I tried to spin the board as hard as possible, for me as a novice, that was the biggest eureka.
Nose manuals next please
It was great advised. I got same issues with urs trying to figure out. Tq bro
Dude everytime I kickflip, my board moves like I’m doing a varial flip, it pisses me off so much since I’m so used to shuvs
Same bro
then try varial kickflips or hard flips
I had this too but I solved it by placing my foot differently. When doing a kickflip your back foot should not be more than half way around the tail. And you should pop straight down. With the varial flip your back foot is more towards your the front of your board which makes it rotate
Learned it in 35 min. Great detail thank u. Next trick❤
I have been trying this for.15 years
And i am a super good surfer, i can do olly 360 and airs 360 in surfboard but i was trynig kickflip for 15 years and my barin do not conect my body to use it the way it us to finish the kickflip
Just focus on surfing lol
omg, this is so helpful, one of the best ones ever
Thanks to your method I almost landed a double kickflip (even though I haven't landed a basic one yet) and I shall be returning whenever I do land a kickflip
Have you landed it yet?
Damn, I wish I had tutorials like this back in the day. We just got to watch grainy VHS tapes in awe, until we went out and tore up our knees and ankles.
This is better than braille. 🤷🏼♀️😬
i fw braille but this trick tips much more clear
I saw this video a few weeks ago, and it didn't make much sense, now that I've practiced and a achive to land some kickflip I totally get it, I'm landing my firsts real kickflips thanks to the advice of leveling the deck first and then flick, thanks.
I can’t be the only one who can tre but can’t kickflip right?
How is that possible
thanks for the lesson
hard flip !!!
