Dang. Think that was THE BEST introduction and instructions on how to tail slide. Covered everything and made it easy to understand. This guy should make an entire series of trick tips
I landed this trick perfectly once, went to do it again and the board slip out in front of me, I slipped back and landed on the edge of the ledge. Been afraid of the trick since.
Next time you get the courage. Try approaching it like a cheap boardslide on a ledge. Put your weight slightly forward so if you do slip out it will be forward and not landing backwards. Always make a plan for how to bail before trying to learn a trick
This almost always happens when your legs are straight, so when you slip out you can't catch yourself. It happens a lot from trying to jack the ollie higher and get up on the ledge, so you jump too high. Try to get into it with your knees well bent, kinda like doing a big ollie under a low roof (say, in a carpark). Even if you slip out, the bent knees will let you kick out and get a foot under yourself 👍
wrong. (not really but this wouldnt have helped me) just do 5-0s and slowly with every try you turn a little more in the direction of fs tailslide. for me when i just tried to get down my fs tails i pretty much always lost the tail and stepped on the curb with my foot, by graduating slowly from 5-0 to tail i could stop that from happening.
My back foot always goes too far forward and I always step half on the board and half on the coping and stick… I can hit back tails no problem but front tails I just can’t get it…
dude why are 99% of skateboard tutorials trash? this one is above average but for example i have never heard skate trick tutorial where they talk about counter-rotating your upper body. In this trick he does so to come out regular but he just calls it "turning your shoulders" which is super vague. The shoulders are so important for ledges and rails but I never see tutorials where they say anything more than turn your shoulders. Compare this to snowboarding tutorials where they precisely outline all the necessary body movement, weight distribution, etc.
Good job Dale. Nice tutorial. Most tricks that start with a frontside popping motion, give me shit. For example, I have to jump backwards like a foot and a half, to land on a front shuv. I've been practicing front 180's though, like a lot, and it seems to be helping me develop that skill a little bit. Still got some work to do though, because I can't get hardflips, or regular frontside bigspins yet. I'm working at them though. 🖤🛹💪🤙✌ Ig: @sk8board_john

pretty much the exact same and I nearly broke my elbow. Back tails only from that moment on

Put a bit more of your weight forward. It’s always better to lean forward more on a flat surface, there’s much less risk of you taking a gnarly fall.
@@bakedbeings This is some solid advice!
Yessss more exposure for dale!so underrated

What kinda shoes are dos?
Does that mean Dale rides for ccs
The key to sliding this trick is to take the blunt of the force of the board going into the ledge with your back heelside wheel
That sounds like a good way to accidentally slipping out lol
But that is how I slide noseslides though, I’m not good at tailslides but the thought of overrotating my board scares me
Nice. I’ve always seen Dale as more of a back tail guy tho
I could kinda do them on a curb, but on regular sized ledges it's a problem
Cant even ollie yet but here I am
why can i back ts but not front
wrong. (not really but this wouldnt have helped me)

Frontside Daleslides
Bs tail please
The guy says he keeps his front foot closer together to keep the nose up then does the trick snd his foot couldn’t any further from the tail.
Is he aware that the spider web elbow tat has a specific meaning?
No Dan Corrigan cameo? 🤣
CCS, hook a brother up with some shoes
Its weird that this guy has the exact same mannerisms as Dan Corrigan.
Here for the Dale and the True faith ‘94🤨
hey its front tail guy
Somewhere Dan sleeps in a car
Somebody get this man some new shoes lol
Does he chose to be bald
No, the bald chose him.
