Skated for around 14 years constantly, landed only a handful of 3 flips in that time. Idk I always scooped to fast never got the flick. Doing them fakie was easy but rolling forward was another story.
dawg, i've had your tre's & nollie bs heels memorized since the early 2000's. its so good to see you, bro. you're different as a human being in general. like my heart can't see nothing but pure when you're in sight, man. god speed & truly, thank you for being you, Paul.
🔥🔥🔥, and if you get the chance, please tell Shane O’Neill that the fans are still waiting for that 360 flip tip video he promised us 12 years ago on RUclips 😂
If you got the scoop but still cant seem to get it, focus on flicking your FRONT FOOT the little "tappy" from the front foot is usually treated as an afterthought but its actually super important for making the trick happen.
Nice! Enjoy my dude and be patient at our age lmao. I'm 36 and I started skating last year. Hardest thing is being able to consistently get out there. I think I've got and lost my kickflip and heelflip like 6 times because I'll take too long of breaks. Prevents me from progressing to other tricks and it gets frustrating but it's so fun.
Putting my scooping foot closer to the pocket really helped, it's an awkward position if you're used to having your foot closer to the tip of the tail like I am but this new foot placement keeps the board under a lot better.
Much love and respect to you and your channel Paul Rodriguez. Thank you for what you do and everything you have done and your contribution to skateboarding, videos, design and the culture. We love you man. Your a living legend and a huge inspiration to me and countless others and a gift to humanity.
For people only getting half a kickflip in: don’t just scoop your foot/leg backwards, try to give the tail a little nudge with your toes by twisting your foot a bit. This made my treflips consistency go up by miles. I’m regular, so i twist my backfoot anti-clockwise a bit. I see most pros do this, paul included, but often people don’t talk about it. Hope this helps :)
I am regular too and I'll try to do your method I've been getting half kickflips consistently and can only do an actual tre flip by landing it with one foot.
@@randomname966did you managed to get the other foot on the board? I have the same problem. Back foot goes straight to the ground having no chance to stay over the board.
@@pistopitpit yes I did but to get a tre flip consistent it took me a year because I landed them stationary many times but finally i have them moving somewhat consistently
Thanks so much for this P-Rod ... been trying to learn how to Tre consistently for 10 years now (not joking). Technique is fundamentally wrong. Definitely some actionable hacks in here from the GOAT!
Dope! I'm 28 and been skating since I was 14 and I still have problems landing trey flips!! I can form it every try and mostly when I try to actually land it the board either doesn't flip all the way or I land away from the board!! Still practicing tho 🙏
LOL, I have an easier time with Nollie 360 flips than 360 flips. I always seem to miss the flip for some reason. Was not like that when I was younger but I suck nowadays. Still, I always had a bad 360 flip, I would put my legs super close to be able to do it perfectly, etc...
Something somebody told me that really helped me when I was learning them was pretend you're trying to kick your front foot with your back foot. That was such a huge help.
when I was learning them it was all scoop no tappy, or all tappy no scoop. it was a matter of remembering to "tappy" along with the scoop simultaneously which my brain had a hard time comprehending for the LONGEST TIME! my tre flips are still the most inconsistent flip trick in my bag. since I stopped skating for years (personal issues addiction n whatnot) when I got sober n got back on the board I lost all my consistent tricks from years ago (fs flip, bs bigspin, hardflip) but for some reason I started doin all my most inconsistent shit more consistently (tre flip, inward heel, bs flip) and for some weird Ass reason I lost my bs bigspin almost entirely, but I can do them switch which I was never even able to do back in the day...at 32 relearning flatground with a ollllllld unrepaired acl tear is hard enough. idk what ima do when I start relearning on a box and low square rail lol..im not even sure If il be able to lol. I may just be stuck trying remaster flip tricks on a lil 3 stair.
Just spent 3 hours earlier today and yesterday trying to get this down gotten close but with this video I can already tell ill have it down very soon thank you legend!!
the crazy thing here is, last week i went to sleep idealizing tre's and was like "oh man, i wish P-Rod could do a tutorial, i would literally give anything to see him explaining", today i woke up and faced this, this feels like a dream and i still can't believe it!
As someone born in the same year as Paul I have no idea how he is still doing what he does lol. I can do a tre flip sitting still on the carpet but its been years since Ive done one moving. Getting old sucks!
I like to keep my back shoulder that's over my scoop leg lined up with the bolts.. helps me always land straight. Before my scoop leg would never land on the board. P ROD you're looking young and healthy bro!
I remember when Scott Pfaff taught me these. He basically explained it the same way. Except he was regular footed so it took some extra practice to get it down in stance.
This was not explained but back foot needs to perform powerful scoop, yet the same foot needs to jump high enough to stay over the board. This trick is not just about a scoop and tapy. Entire body plays the part. How you position your legs arms and head while in the air, all that matters.
Varial heel please!? 😢 I have really good fs pop shuv pop and heelflip but when I combine I flick the board away or it flips with no pop and it kills me.. 🤦🏽♂️
Big scoop, lil tappy
A little tap, tap, tap-a-roo!😅
Who's your daddy, tappy tappy tap
Just tap it in LMAO
I heard this in Adam Sandler’s voice.

now would be a great time to bring back that iconic intro track from when you filmed "Ledge Fundamentals" with Plan B
It looks like the board just wants to stick back to his feet when he's in the air...
Beautiful.

Please
@rodrigofalln. I want too do that skateboarding ?. .
Love that you guys left in the clips that aren’t perfect. Makes it so much more authentic.
He was just calling them not perfect but they were still perfect.
I would’ve been such a better skater when I was 13 through 15 if I had RUclips videos like this to watch. This is so helpful.
💯
I’m getting back into skating now, haven’t skated since I was about 11 I’m now 23 so I’m learning the basics all over again. Trust the process
good luck bro

Thank you Paul!! That back foot placement was everything!,.. been doing pretty them consistent today,.. I've been trying em for 16yrs or so...lol

Working on it
P-Rod has been more accurate than a video game his whole career. Unreal.
‘Just tap it in. Give it a little tappy. Tap-tap tapperoo.’ - H.Gilmore
I was thinking that too. Wonder if that's what Paul was referencing
just landed my first inward heel and tre flip im so happy
Thanks Paul, I’m just starting skateboarding at age 36…this helps alot

I landed my first one yesterday. I was struggling with it for a long time and 0:50 was the idea that helped me to land it. Thanks!
This might be the best Tre tutorial I've seen. and I've seen them all haha

Oh it’s just P-Rod…GOATIN…doing what he do🤙🏾
Big scoop and a lil tappy
keep your weight over your back foot too
Best tip Ive heard is dont stomp. The scoop is all ankle control slightly after jumping. If you stomp it down you'll have a hard time staying over it.
Great tip.

Yeah I slowed it way down and you can see his back foot gives a Inward flick with the scoop. I think that's what I've been missing
