PJ is one of those skaters that looks truly comfortable on their board. I love when he lands " Bolts " and on the balls of his feet. Ladd has always set the bar in the Skateboarding world!
Started skating two years and a half ago, and watched this when I started. Now I have all of these except the Front and Back Heel (Fakie I do have) Grateful for this, it helped me go a long way ^_^
THANK YOU PJ! Ive been watching these vids probably once a month for the last year and a half and i can now do every trick on this except fs heels. i have a ton of switch and nollie and fakie too. he has one of the most proper styles. or maybe its just the sexy board
Takes commitment took me almost 4 months to land it but it didn't stop me after I learned kickflip I took it off the curb and worked my way up to a 4 stair just practice.
yes, i agree with you.. the reson you wrote out is why i watch rookie tutorials rather than from pro's "put your foot here and there.. flick here, turn there and ride away clean".. also please feel free to upload your tutorial :) many will benefit, im sure..
I usually watch these because the pro just makes the tricks look steezy, otherwise I usually learn the tricks on my own. How to's are usually people showing off their consistent tricks anyways haha.
I have done all but : 3:56 - FRONTSIDE FLIPS 5:06 - FRONTSIDE HEELFLIP (did some hardflips but not clean.) I think i can get hardflip again :D Good lucky me guys ! Lets pratice!
+tom paget You realize people skated for decades without the ollie right? Skateboarding is about your own fun, it's not like there's an invisible referee scoring your skating and you're hurting your team by not being able to ollie or some shit.
Kickflips are easier if you practice ollies the right way. Next time you pop an ollie - center your foot between the rails - then roll your foot to the nose and float in the air with the front truck higher than the back (like a bad rocket ollie). Practicing this technique will prep you for a kickflip: when your front foot gets near the nose you flick the foot ever so slightly to form the kickflip :) I've been doing them since 11 years old, now at 25 - I finally know how to describe it!
damn, i've been skating for 11 years and my kickflips were flawed because of one little mistake, i think i've never really hang my heel off the board ( or not enough) Thx for this enlightenment !
There is 2 different kinds of front side flips and hard flips. There is the flip and catch method and then the folded method where it goes between your legs.
as you crouch down, concentrate on a good snap of the board.. drag your front foot to like the corner of the board and kick out. let it flip as you hover above the board (with your shoulders straight) as it completes the spin, catch it with your backfoot first and land and crouch! ((something like that haha.. go watch some vids and skate with friends man!))
somewhere in the 90s varial kickflip became uncool. you wont see them in pro videos ever but maybe witha hippie jump you should know this if you skate its the easiest flat ground flip trick, usually your first. It was my first flip trick.
I agree with neogeon. It is the physics that affects what you do. If you understand the physics you can manipulate the board easily, and knowing what you are actually doing.
Guys he's doing fundamentals, you know like kick flips up til treflips, there's no laser flips, no 360 hard flips and no super hard tricks... Although if pj Ladd did do like a " pj's flat ground advanced trick book or somthing, that would be awesome for sure XD
I've also learnt the Heelflip before the Kickflip, because i've had a problem with catching the heelflip correct, so it is definetly possible to do/learn the Heelflip before the Kickflip (:
so far I got Kickflip,Heelflip,Shove it,FS Shove it,FS Heel,BS Flip ,BS Heel,Varial Heel, and Varial Flip in the varial flip is not in the bid but I decided to do them anyway I feel that the reason why ppl struggle so much to get their tre flips is because they don't have their varial flips down but that's just my opinion
The stigma continues... It's not "cool" to do a varial kickflip. That's why skateboarding is becoming a corporate puppet, because skaters don't have the character to do the tricks they want instead of the tricks that are "acceptable". You sell your soul as a skater when you say a trick shouldn't be done.
I think the varial kickflip is a good trick for the basic, not for the pros, i have to agree, the varial kickflip is an easy trick, but is a basic trick for who want to 360 flip, just like a 360 shovt, who is not in the video
Just watch his feet placement for each trick (you may have to adjust your feet depending on how you like it) and mimic his movement as best as possible. Of course, if this video had a scientific breakdown on the angles, physics and force that would be sick and it would make it much more interesting.
I'm just saying they explain every trick in the simplest most unhelpful way in every tutorial. I know how to do all of these tricks, and if I made a tutorial I would go into a hell of a lot more detail than simply telling you which way the board spins.
I'm so close to landing my P0P shuvits but I only can get my front foot to land on the board. In other words I'm having a hard time commiting. Plz help thank u
i can do all these tricks in all 4 different stances. thumbs up if you're also just watching it, though you can do em. btw, does anyone know what song is playing while he is explaining the tricks?
They're actually easier to learn if your middle toes are in the back pocket and your front foot is just below and off to the side of the front bolts, then all you do is pop, jump, and flick and it's done. I'll make a tutorial if you'd like!
+Ricardo Urra "those are shit" lmaoo post a steezy video with a varial & tre back to back please. Until then, your 2 cents are worth nothing homie. Board control. Tired of people talking shit about vairals then they can't FUCKING ollie :////////
PJ Ladd Kickflips are crazy perfect
skate size 8.0 board with tight low trucks. and 50mm wheels
@@avian.carverthose wheels are too small for street
@@nathanvaltierra8707 no
I've never heard about the "your foot don't move for a second", and for a tutorial that doesn't explain, it helped me a LOT !
I learned heelflips im 5 min. After this....sometimes it just takes the right person to tell you what you need to know...thanks pj!
Well I learned them in 2 minutes!! Sometimes people just have more talent than you!! Thx man!!
that clean tre-flip gave me an eyergasm
it game me a Boner then i noticed that i cum un my pants

Been searching that song for ages and now it’s finally founded. 🎇 🥳

The way PJ quick pivots before he does his trix is unique!

wow that guys got the basics down real smooth, a pleasure in slowmo
I usually watch these because the pro just makes the tricks look steezy, otherwise I usually learn the tricks on my own. How to's are usually people showing off their consistent tricks anyways haha.
Soooo clean
I suggest learning shuv its first the flips
Flat ground fundamentals taught me so many flip tricks as a 13 year-old
And trucks what trucks are those im guessing Venture??
thanks for putting them all together!!! these been my bible lately lol xDD
Who Made the Instrumentals? got me bobbin my head shits bangin.
jay z public service announcement
Probably Just Blaze. But im not sure.

He does the motion capture?
most beautiful tre flips ever
I have done all but :
3:56 - FRONTSIDE FLIPS
5:06 - FRONTSIDE HEELFLIP
(did some hardflips but not clean.)
I think i can get hardflip again :D
Good lucky me guys !

front heels feel satisfying
what about an ollie? pretty sure that is the base for all tricks
And the 180 Ollies.
Yeah Its True. But Those Tricks Are Way To Easy And Even beginners Think Its Easy. That Is Way Its Not There.

The best tip trick video
I know how to do all these but i still watch this just to see PJ
nicest kickflips Ive ever seen
damn, i've been skating for 11 years and my kickflips were flawed because of one little mistake, i think i've never really hang my heel off the board ( or not enough) Thx for this enlightenment !
There is 2 different kinds of front side flips and hard flips. There is the flip and catch method and then the folded method where it goes between your legs.
yup thats right, the folded kind is called a muska flip ;)
It's still the same trick either way.
+Noel Martineau no its not
between the legs goofy asf
Best flat ground! Up there with Asta, Joslin, Cole, Olivera, Pudwill. Flat ground contest are amazing.
there is more to say then what pj says this video is no hope thats im glad i can already do these tricks
landed my first pop shuv it because of this video VERY helpful
These videos are good but the best way to learn them is to just get on your board and go for it.
Does the heelflip flicks has two parts the draging and flicking?
no. pj ladd is just shit at explaining lol,
when was this filmed? And WHAT SHOES ARE THOSE?? They look like EMERICA KIRCHART 3's ???
I wanna sometime in 2008-2009. They're PJs old DC pro model
John Manion its from 08. watchdd this when i first started skating
Skate God's the kings of the streets brotha yeah what up yeah
The shoes are DC Pj Lx's. They aren't made anymore, but you can find them on like amazon or something.
pj is the mann straight G
so much flatground steez
Well in my opinion the shove it part was the most useful pop shove it video ever.
Who better than pj to give a flat ground tutorial
damn i remeber watching this back when i couldnt do any of these tricks,
feels kind of weird looking back being able to do most of them
Finally got them all. Good luck, the Heelflip Variations took most effort. Good luck to everybody. You can do it.❤

Rip varial kickflips
hahaha indeed
Damn those are some butteryass kickflips!

those tre flips hes got are saucy
You can easily get the gist of it from watching all the angles and slowmos... he explains it fine
I need to learn FS heel and varial heel. And need to improve Tre flips and bs heel
so far I got Kickflip,Heelflip,Shove it,FS Shove it,FS Heel,BS Flip ,BS Heel,Varial Heel, and Varial Flip in the varial flip is not in the bid but I decided to do them anyway I feel that the reason why ppl struggle so much to get their tre flips is because they don't have their varial flips down but that's just my opinion
my exact thought. need to learn switch varial
He makes it look easy
practice and take care of yourself g, and it can be easy for you too
Hes so good at catching the board back
Damn the steeziest kick flips
Back when i was skatin, i could barely nollie. I could still do most of the tricks in this vid 7 times out of 10.
What is the song, when it's the intro of the video???
Great video
This was very helpful
does anyone know what shoes is he wearing ?
DC
Sick! Now I wanna skate! Too bad it's almost midnight...
Sam Mason go skate a midnight, mullen skates at 3:00am, so why not you?
me too@@Garf2O
sick vid!!
It IS that simple. Your problems with the trick is something you YOURSELF has to work on.
Hell yea PJ.
For the frontside flip you all should search for the Reynolds tutorial, his tutorial helps a lottt more
Where is the varial kickflip ?
Varial kick flips are a poser trick. Spin the board one more time around then you are cool.
It's a joke for me I think it's funny people hate on that trick.
I think the varial kickflip is a good trick for the basic, not for the pros, i have to agree, the varial kickflip is an easy trick, but is a basic trick for who want to 360 flip, just like a 360 shovt, who is not in the video
Sorry if my english is not good, because i'm in 2º year in my english school
Thanks PJ
Very good video :)
love the shoes
those shoes are badass
RIP mid puffy skate shoes
if i do heelflips the same way i do kickflips except i just flick to the opposite side does it count as a heelflip
Awsome!!
beast vid
You'll get it soon, I can tell :P Good luck.
Music : Zay-z Popping'Tags , thank you from brazil , Like (y) !!!!
thanks men
I have all these except for inwards those are tough
flick down more, and towards the Tail.
Just watch his feet placement for each trick (you may have to adjust your feet depending on how you like it) and mimic his movement as best as possible. these arent good tips.... but damn thats a buttery ass backside flip
Dude 5:47 is how I learned front heels kick to the frond not the side
yeahh, and that back foot in the pocket for more powahh
whats the difference between the lx model and just the normal pjs?
those tres are so beautiful
Name of the song? I like it :3
What's the name of this song... I hear it so much i want to skate to it :C
I'm just saying they explain every trick in the simplest most unhelpful way in every tutorial. I know how to do all of these tricks, and if I made a tutorial I would go into a hell of a lot more detail than simply telling you which way the board spins.
Awesome skater
you should look up nick tucker nollie late flips trick tip and se him kickflippin in the start of the video
these guys make it look so easy tho
Does anyone know the first few tunes in the introduction?
Landed my first hardflips today, the main problem is the awkward motion of your front foot
I'm so close to landing my P0P shuvits but I only can get my front foot to land on the board. In other words I'm having a hard time commiting. Plz help thank u
As you said it's a lack of commitment!Try NOT to step off with either foot. This could develop into a bad habit.Just go for it:)
dont be a puss. take a slam in skateboarding or youll never progress
i can do all these tricks in all 4 different stances. thumbs up if you're also just watching it, though you can do em. btw, does anyone know what song is playing while he is explaining the tricks?
I figured varial flips weren't going to be included, even tho they should be ...oh well, good video for sure and good explanations.
11:05 tre flip... So perfect. Still think Wade Desarmo has doper ones
Thanks man
They're actually easier to learn if your middle toes are in the back pocket and your front foot is just below and off to the side of the front bolts, then all you do is pop, jump, and flick and it's done. I'll make a tutorial if you'd like!
is it weird that i skate regular butt i can only do hardflips and treflips switch?
What's the music in the beginning of the video?
public service announcement - JayZ
where's the laser flip
I mean i don't get how you can consider a tre as fundamental but not a laser
True but I would've put lasers cause the tre
+killer bee flip it makes sense
+Ricardo Urra "those are shit" lmaoo post a steezy video with a varial & tre back to back please. Until then, your 2 cents are worth nothing homie. Board control. Tired of people talking shit about vairals then they can't FUCKING ollie :////////
