  • This video highlights and teaches you the fundamental tricks that you want to have when skateboarding transition. It is perfect for the beginner as it starts right from the beginning which is dropping in, and then progressively teaches you more difficult tricks. Once you get more experience, confidence and ability you should be able to perform all these tricks and at that stage have a really solid foundation on transitions.
    Since I have combined all the tricks in to one easy video, I will break down each trick below and the associated time that trick starts.
    1. Pump & Drop-In 0:11
    2. Rock Fakie / Rock & Roll 1:38
    3. Backside 50-50 3:05
    4. Frontside 50-50 4:07
    5. Ollie to Fakie 5:10
    6. Front / Backside Ollie 6:15
    7. Frontside Lipslide 7:42
    8. Backside Lipslide 8:45
    9. Frontside Tailslide 9:45
    10. Backside Tailslide 10:47
    11. Frontside Smith 11:53
    12. Backside Smith 13:15

    I just imagine him making a MASSIVE archive of these, and lesson #2045 (or something) starting up like: "Ok. Lets' go over The 900." and he's still just as calm and chill as he is in this video (with the same music, of course) xD

    I never skated transition, but just skated a mini ramp for the first time yesterday.
    The most fun I've had in a time. I learned rock to fakie and rock'n rolls. I'm exited to go again and learn tail stalls and hopefully commit and drop in!
    Hopefully it will help me skate more obstacles when street skating.

      Make sure you're not throwing your body weight over the coping because once you lean out it is hard to get back in. It is all about leaning towards the inside of pool or pipe imo. Once you get the weight distribution it requires very little motion or effort and you don't have to be going the "perfect speed" to do it. Hope this helps a bit maybe. Probs for getting all those other tricks.

    I have advice I just got a half pipe so i'm a beginner to skating transition, but the thing that helped when pumping for me which is misleading in this video to me at least is that when you go up to pump you really have to push down with that front foot to go faster and going up switch or fakie or backwards whatever you want to call it is a lot harder lol

    • @420thebestdayever
      @420thebestdayever 8 лет назад +1

      Lol hell ya comin back down fakie on your first pumps definitely feels sketch !!

    • @DoggoWillink
      @DoggoWillink 8 лет назад +1

      I feel like everyone should skate switch for at least one day a week or at least some fraction of time. Just riding around and whatever else you're doing at the time. Comes in handy in every area of skating. Fakie isn't hard once you have good switch control, although sure you can learn to skate fakie better by doing it specifically. I just feel like switch will solve that and your switch skating at once.

    It's getting much more harder for me
    to do some tricks at the transitions, bowls and ramps at my local skate park because it doesn't have any vert on it.
    So I try to push out the Ollie and higher
    In order to have time to plant my
    Feet's and the wheels at the correct landing angle other way the rear wheels will touch prematurely
    Sending me out of balance at high speed :)

    • @falleinloveshoes7
      @falleinloveshoes7 10 лет назад +1

      back tails are harder, especially when you're first learning them. It takes a while to control back tails. A front smith is just basically a five, except you have dip your front truck towards the transition.

  • @FerdBronkeh
    @FerdBronkeh 10 лет назад

    I know he didn't land all this first try and what he did I'm sure he still took more than one take to make it look good. There's even a couple small errors you can see with the slow camera. Noone is perfect but I'm not hating he's close! Honestly he's sick. I'm just curious if this took him a day or if this took him a week or so fourth. He's good but that would be SERIOUSLY impressive if he did this whole video in one day of skating haha. His sessions are mind blowing!
