This might be the best tutorial style I have ever seen the way you break down the different ways to do the trick is not something a lot of people talk about good shit bro
I land Backside 180 and Kickflip every once in a while, but combining them is a whole different game. Useful tips and footage, thanks! Seems like I have some homework to do.. 🙂
Interesting that you use the word click to describe what we in southern california call pop, ie 'click the tail' vs 'pop the tail.' Never heard that before.
When I do backside flips the board cuts into my ankle/upper top of my foot. I feel like I’m flicking with too much of my foot instead of just my toe. This is super annoying because I’m trying to learn the trick and end up opening my scab back up causing it to bleed. Any advice?
I've been working on getting my first bs flip for a few weeks now. I haven't gotten one yet but I have a couple of things to try now based on this. Thanks for the video. 👍
I kinda like to think of a bs flip like a pop shuv + kickflip. you also wanna swing your shoulders first in the direction you wanna go (gives the board tension) Also pop wait a bit and then flick. Waiting a few milliseconds gives the board time to get higher in the air.
This trick is kicking my butt. I can bs 180 fine and kickflip fine but putting them together is just not working. If I put my foot near the bolts like a kickflip it doesn’t flip fast enough and put my foot lower I don’t hit the tail. It’s weird the only thing I accomplished today was wearing down my shoe 🤣
I learned backside flips within 2-3 days and here what i have to say: 1. Have back 180s and kickflips on lock (it will help you tremendously) 2. Turn shoulders before you pop and try to scoop as well 3. Flick diaognally 4. Turn the rest of your body around and land
how tf you learned them in 2-3 days 😭😭😭😭 im trying to land full 180 for like a month or so, every time not enough rotation bs 180s on the other hand I have on lock and I can almost do 360 bs, same with kickflips, can kickflip, can varial, can tree but this shit....
@@bunnv1 i am still practicing it i dont have them consistent, i was just practicing bs 180s that day and i was getting them perfect and i applied the same technique to backside flips and just got really close and the following day i landed it
the trick that helped me the most is bs 180 ollie north, bs flip is kinda the same trick, but ollie north is much easier to commit, and this way you get the kind of bs flip with full rotation in the air, and the board sticking to your feet. In fact I think ollie north is the gateway to flip tricks, both kickflip and heelflip are basically ollie north, the only difference is front foot position.
@@bunnv1 glad I could help. Also, if you can almost bs 360 it means that you probably do the 180 with scoop instead of pop. With bs flip you have to pop, and it helps to do almost a fs shifty - late bs 180, like drawing a question mark with your front foot. It will make more sense when you try 180 ollie north.
It's funny, kickflips and bs 180 are my most consistant tricks but bs flips are just impossible to for me to make them look good. BS heels though are much easier for me 😂
Damn those backside 180s are beautiful
The thing that amazed me about this video was those fantastic back 180s. 💯🔥
just a normal ass back 180😂

Did you learn it

Interesting. I use pop as well. But to me it sounds more like a click, so just trying to associate the sound :)
In FL, we call it pop too. This is the first time I’ve ever heard click.
here in the midwest. we also call it pop
100% spot on, next - higher and higher, loving it 👌🏻
Killer video.. very helpful brother
Thanks dude!

I can’t backside flip worth shit… it’s one of the few flips tricks that I still haven’t done before! I just can’t get one to go down
Maybe some of these tips will help 🤷♂
try some halfcab flips, that might help you get the rotation down
You deserve Levi’s
Thanks?

You have so much steeze in the way you skate and dress. I pretty much want to look like you lol.
Wow, thanks.

I agree.. I like doing kickflips so much, my shoes don't last long.
