Especially for those who are learning their Treflips or shove-it’s, it’s important to understand why steezy Treflips are possible.
Being able to steezy Treflip can be translated as “being able to time it right.” In this video, we study h ow proper timing makes it easier to flip our boards.
Please take a moment and try to study this in detail.
I'm trying to eliminate subjectivity from my explanation as much as possible by referring to scientific and physics theories. Please use my 3D models to solve your "why."

Traditionally, skateboarding how-to videos have always been subjective and the majority of explanations are based on speakers' experiences.
To avoid relying on my personal experiences, please fully utilize the 3D models.
    All skaters have different questions.
So that you can analyze skateboarding tricks in detail and solve your "whys," those 3D models are made fully interactive.
The 3D models feature these functions below:
    change camera angle
    adjust play speed
    change transparency
    display gridlines, etc.
Aside from that, I try to explain concepts of skateboarding tricks based on facts, calculations, scientific and physics theories. I may make mistakes so please leave a comment if you find anything.

But I'm actually doing this for me. I always wanted to create a sort of service where everyone can share their experiences without relying only on their subjectivity. I want to change the way we pass on what we have. Otherwise, as soon as we quit skating, all those pain, blood and tears and excitement will be lost.

It is rare to see that mentioned, however I imagine maybe it's because for a lot of people who aren't used to whatever trait they're learning it can be confusing considering in real time most aspects of a trick feel simultaneous as opposed to sequential

Man this video was absolutely amazing!! Like really so good! Scooping when your momentum's going up is such a solid recommendation. The only part I would disagree with is the pause at the bottom, this is because something that contributes a lot to the power we can generate in a vertical jump/popping a trick are the elastic structures in and around your muscles and joints. They essentially work like an elastic band that's pulled back and released - building on top of the force you could create with your muscles alone - this process is known as the 'stretch shortening cycle' (SSC). The more you pause, the more the stored energy in the SSC is dissipated as heat. Instead, I would recommend developing the SSC and your ability to create power over pausing at the bottom (there are exercises on my channel to do this). Anyway, thanks for the vid! You gained a subscriber!

Because you basically jump backwards and your board pops forward. So instead of holding it on the Blackfoot you have to hold your weight on the front foot. Hope this helps someone :)

I need to release my front foot weight on time. if done correctly, as you stated, the skateboard requires very little force to pop.

This is actually a really well thought out explanation of skateboarding motorskills. I may be wrong but in my experience almost any time I've over heard, or been asked to give trick advice on how to do ollies or other things, we all tend to start by explaining with the motion required by our feet, rather than the first goal. Now obviously when we're giving ollie advice we explain that you have to snap your tail on the ground before sliding your front foot up the board to level it out while jumping. but more emphasis definitely needs to be made on the crouching and jumping aspects before all that other shit. Good analysis.

    • @whythetrick

you are right. although this one's about treflips, the same concept should apply to other tricks including ollies. jump>>>pop. there's a big difference but we tend to forget about this.

I knew this intuitively that you need to jump before doing the trick, otherwise how could I lift the board from the ground if I cannot lift myself first. This is very valuable to know for any skateboarding trick that requires board lifting.
But when it comes to three flip there is so much more to explain than this. For example direction of the scoop is extremely important, shoulders position, pop before scoop, and so on. Many other videos talk about hese aspects.
My advice above them all would be: record yourself and analyse what mistakes you are doing. Then try to correct these mistakes.

great video! love your mind! my problem was definitely trying to force the board to rotate while still crouched, giving it no place to go.

Absolutely loved the video, just all those explanations are so revealing to me. Makes me understand a bit more why certain motions happen and how to feel you board better. Amazing, really splendid. This reminds me of Rodney Mullen and how perfectionist and dedicated he is to the art of skateboarding!! Thanks for your work!!

      you are welcome!
i've been skating for 10+ years with blanks due to job and injuries. my body's getting dull day by day. still, there are things we can say only after years of skating, right?
will be posting more. please come back anytime.

Omfg I’ve been running this idea through my head for the past month that the essence to every trick is maintaining pressure until the pop. I’m way too lazy and inarticulate to make a video on it but it’s crazy to see this video when I did.

Amazing work...I always tell the homies about being Lightfooted when skating. Sometimes you gotta be heavy too though

The harder you try to jump, the heavier you tend to be. What an irony.
