I've landed bs flips but never could find out what I wasn't doing right to doing it consistently. This video def enlightened me. So I'm going to head to the park today and try it out. Update: So I tried it out and def saw some improvement in my rotation. I would caution those against leaning too far back as well as that will cause rocketing. Update Jul 14 2020: I finally landed BS Flip the way I wanted it took some dedication on my part to just BS. Flips, but I landed it. I was able to record my progress and posted it on my channel. This video def helped. And, today after spending all night doing BS Flips I can say I can execute cleaner and land them more frequently. Thanks Skate Hacks!
these are very good tips. I have a great backside 180 and kickflip but these have always given me more trouble than i think they should considering i can kickflip back-tail/back-lip/front-board. Dipping the front down with your flick helped. thanks
okay so i learned backside flips kinda... very inconsistent lol and i had a theory while learning that if i "did a dolphin flip" it would make the 180 easier and this definitely helped confirm that i have to dip the nose!!! thanks fam
thanks man!! ur tips helped me a lot, landed some backside flips today and they looked much cooler than ever. Also the backside feeble trick tip helped me a lot!
I can bs 180 perfect, been doing it off stairs and my shoulders rotate full 180 degrees always, however when i try to bs flip i cant rotate my shoulders 180 degrees and usually end up landing in an uncomfortable position where my shoulders arent turned around fully. Any tips on how i can fix that?
i can get the flip perfectly, but instead of doing a full 180 degree rotation, i end up doing something like a 160 degree rotation, and for some reason, I can't manage to pivot/revert the rest of the rotaton like i can with normal bs 180s. I'm confused:/
Do it in switch but cant do it regular. Now I understand that the movement of my regular foot is incorrect. And in switch foot flicks right on the nose/tail. Hope will master regular flips tomorrow. Thank very much!
Don't forget!! If you're body is going backside, then before you pop this trick, make sure you're rolling towards the left just a little bit. If done right, the pop is much more successful because you're rolling front side and popping backside, which means that you'll pop exactly on the center of the tail. It also helps keep the board under your feet. Especially for the 'nose down' tip you're talking about. 👍
I love backside flips but I have landed a few like you said in the video but I usually just pop them and turn with a Liverpool and they are clean and I can pop them HIGH but for some reason I cont back 180 that good
I think people try to throw their weight forward too much and huck/scoop the basckside 180's. Keep everything on a single axis, for me my knee caps are at an obtuse angle with my feet a little higher up towards the bolts. Once you get the straight pop your front foot caresses right into the pocket and should almost effortlessly tweak into a BS180. It should feel like you're reverting rather than scooping/hucking.
I've skated longer than I'd care to admit without landing these. No idea why I can kickflip every time but still struggle with this trick whenever I try it.
Don't forget to use your hips and shoulders to get the full body rotation. *This goes for the 'nose down' tip My advice is to also try something like a BS 180 dolphin flip. You'll find the balance between Skate Hacks advice and mine.
@@johnvidetto105 well when i was younger i got to a point in skating where i could regularly get into kickflip back tail stalls and had backside flips on lock. its probably because its the last trick i learned before stopping , and when i restarted it was a lot harder to have consistent kickflips
My issue is landing fakie with any bs flips. I know I land heavy on my toes just don't know how to fix it. Fs no problem landing fakie. Nollie not as big of an issue. Switch flips not an issue either.
The day after I learned halfcab flips I got fs flips...I want to get this trick but I can't bs 180😂 my kickflips r fucking solid if I must say cuz everyone I know says so but it's the bs 180 part
I don't know if you got them by now but try popping and starting to level out the board before throwing your shoulders on the 180. It makes it easier to get the board high enough to spin
IDK if you saw his comment yet, but this is completely irrelevant but reminded me. It was always easier to do bs and fs flip in fakie, learned that way and transferred the idea to normal
I love how you repeated it the whole video it helps a lot to study it while listening what ur saying thx
looks way cooler when the flip is dipped down instead of leveld
big flips look so awesome this way too
I respectfully disagree
@@aidansteele9426 you mean bs 180 dolphin flip
I like leveled, looks way cleaner
oyophant Backside Muskaflip
Hella shinners off this one
Hella
Now I’m scared
I used to do it when I was younger I recently got back into skateboarding I'm 4 months in I can't do it anymore... I learned nollie tre tho
💀💀

Did you get them yet
Still not consistent but def got a better rotation down. I need to dedicate a week to pure bs flip
Bit late but how long did it take you to get it
Any update
You're smart as hell man.. this makes so much sense....
I’ve never really tried a backside flip until now, but within an hour of watching this video, I landed my first one
I stopped skating for about 3 months and I'm just getting back into it, already learned 3 new tricks in a week, and this definitely helped
Something so simple as sliding off the nose, yet so effective. Your tips are like magic. It just works so well and makes it so much easier.
dude I love your videos thank you for using ur fucking brain before a trick tip
We need more of these style trick tips!
If I was able to see your whole body turning with the flip rotation, that trick would even make more sense to me ^^
I'm in love with your videos dude!
A clean backside flip feels so great
Watching your tip tricks made my backside flips look flawless
Best trick tips i've seen on youtube, thx mate!
I will apply this the next time I try to bs flip, I kinda have them, but this will help for sure
Do one with bs heelflips!!!! and also thanks a lot :D
Hey bro did you ever get them?

Awesome video my man! I especially like how you highlight that the trick rotates around your front trucks, helped a lot thanks!
That advice is good, all about the flick through the kick, you feel it when you get that flick right.
0:07 So steezy! 🔥

I learned my backside flip thanks to this video!
Legend ty for this it makes so much sense in my head now
Can't W8 to try it tomorrow! I had issues understanding how to feel the flip now that makes sense!
Just what I needed to see, happy go skateboarding day. Go skate!
Something to note, watch his front foot track the rotation of the pop. Flick too early and it’ll rocket
thanks so much dude this helped me fix my bs flip in under 5 minutes
Dope operated! And perfect short/clear description 👌🏻
You have the best tutorials they help soooo much thank you!
Shit like this is like the equivalent of "cues" when lifting weights. It really helps sooo much, thank yee.
Thank you, tomorrow ill try this advice🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Was practicing this today, now I find this video... should watch it before! :)
Been watching you for awhile. Just wanna say thanks for the tip n upload
Learned this trick with this video ty my man
They look sooo much better tweaked as well. Win win
Oh man Ima really want these!,
That last one down the set was 💯
Awesome help, thanks, bro!
This is very helpful thank you!
makes sense.. i think its easy to accidently flip off the side with these for sure because your board is also rotating away from the flick
Thanks for the help.. bs flip coming out a lot better

Thank u this helped me so much
Awesome tip going to give it a try
Helped me moving my back foot towards the centre of the board rather than having it on the pocket almost treflip like
I’ve always thought this is the coolest looking trick there is. Something about it...
Dude, I swear you are the Albert Einstein of skateboarding.
This helped a lot thanks
1:53 I never slide them on the ground like that. Is always a full 180 spin but that's probably why they are not as consistant
i can backside 180 and kickflip i wanna try this out before learning how to tre. is it a good idea?
great tutorial boss! great content overall
helped a lot thank you
That's a good tip bro
Love you channel keep it up
Nice i kept landing front foot only this helped me landed 1st one hella sketch tho
varial flip helps better than kockflip to backside flip
Thx for the tip man, I actually did a bs flip by scooping the tail.
dude your video are the fuckin best. super helpful the little points you make really help to visualize the tricks and do it right.

yooo this is in san antonio, i love this skatepark but it’s too small tho
The key for me… trying to get bs flips for almost a decade…. Was to put more front foot on the board and flick the nose down…. I got em now ezzz
How do you do the pivot I’m having trouble with that part
Idk
I’m tryin to learn them to
Bro sei il migliore
Thx so much my dude!!!

Damnnnn yo this helped so much
but most of them are pivoted, can't it be a complete 180 rotation also? or should also consider the pivot as part of the normal way of doing it?
Pablo Pazos Its really hard to do full rotation its unlikely to get that on flat maybe down a drop yea
0:55 that makes a lot of sense, but it strains my ankle so much to flick off the front 😭
the way i do this trick is like a varial flip then i land on it lol i hope to one day get them 90 catched and round like. not pivot.
Same dude
No wonder mine rockets sometimes , thanks 🙏
a bs heelflip or fs heelflip. much aprreciated
Its messed up, kinda dolphin flip rotation you cause
my backsideflips look more like dolphinflip body varial any tips?
I learn more about skating then school 😭
U make shit so easy to learn.
i have neither a kckflip or bs 180 but i can land bs flips
There's always one joker
That doesn’t make a lot of sense

Mara SXL Oh I that makes sense
when I tried it , it ended up like front foot impossible -0- do you know how to fix that ?
Windd. Ch work on your flick
at long last! a real trick tip!
I don’t know backside 180s that well but I know how too backside flip??
You have such a good views to likes to dislike ratio
Its more of a horizontal dolphin flip + BS 180
Backside flips are kind of easy but my backside 180s suck cause I never really did them
Lol I place my feet almost like on ollie and it works
thanks

i dont do backside ollies or kickflips. im relly close to getting it
😘😘😘
I Saw this and tryed the flip of the front and landes it first try
That was a lot of stairs. So sick.
The board keeps landing in front of me what do I do
shoulders
The board lands behind me, what do I do? Lol I can rotate bs flip but I land on the nose, tips?
Your way make it a disco dolphin flip

Every time I try a backside flip I Merlin twist. I can't make it flip.
