So grateful you started making videos on youtube! Best insights and best trick tips/explanations as well ! Please keep being genuine and doing just you! Cheers from Baguette land
Hey Tom, if you are thinking about making trick tips, please make sure to break down every small detail about the trick. Like how your front foot trying to go infront of you instead of stopping when it goes up can help with ollies. Or how thinking about an ollie before I flick a heelflip helps me do heelflips high. I am sure you have a lot of small details that you have learnt, but don't realize. If you could make videos with details like that. I think they would be very successful. For example I saw a video about fs360's and the guy said "I used to strugle, but I now try to look at my heels when turning my body and it helps me." I went out and landed a couple pivotless fs 360's. They may not work for everyone, but those details are what helps people.
Amazing stuff man. Really puts pro level skill in perspective. Tom is seriously one of the best/most consistent skaters out so this is amazing to see. I honestly love the old school kind of bare bones style of this. We’re all open to whatever trick tips you put out man!
cant really skate anymore due to tearing my ACL twice now skating, but still enjoy watching skate content. was following you on twitch already but have been noticing your youtube grind lately. love to see it. thanks tom.
I remember seeing you skate in person for the first time, this was back in 2011. You were skating a ledge at 30th street station in Philly and it was either kick flip 50-50 or 50-50 kick flip out but from what i remember you were throwing them down one after another… I was just blown away watching you skate!
Yo this is dope that your putting out personal content Sadly I don’t skate anymore but I remember when you dropped the part with Chris cole I use to watch it before heading out
Tom makes young skaters realize that even if you're pro you don't land tricks every try. I love it. I used to think pros were perfect and couldn't mess up and it really made me look down on myself.
Tom I’ve bought 14 pairs of Es straight since you did the first unboxing video with Kelly. My plantar fasciitis feels so much better in them, especially Accels and Silos. So thank you for have a huge impact on my skateboarding. You literally sold me on Es for life. Keep ripping!!
The voice over addition was perfect...dudes getting good at these videos. Another thing that was key that maybe people missed is when Tom needed wax, hes not buttering up the top of the ledge, its the contact with the wheel base
hey Tom, just wanna say your vids have got me back on the board after 15yrs off. yesterday I landed two NBDs for me - backside heel and varial heel. thanks for the inspo, forgot how good it feels to land new shit.
make sure your upper body is not hunching over before you pop, try and keep your head centered over your feet & board...that helps me keep that trick under...works for alot of heelflip variations, at least for me !
It’s so crazy I landed my first flip out at a demo you were at. It happened to be 50-50 kickflip lol and you skated right past me as I did it. So hyped. You shred man.

Duuuuude another free tip! Thank you so much. I'm watching your video right now sitting in park and thanks to your tips I did bs smith flip out in a couple tries! Man I've been struggling with this trick for a good couple of months now i did it! 💪🏻
Tom, if you’re gonna do trick tips I’d love to see your nollie hardflip trick tip. I noticed your pop foot is way low on the board when you do them, like almost in the pocket. But you don’t seem to have trouble getting a good pop and clearly you have that trick on lock. Anything you can say about the flick motion, jump direction, weight distribution, and foot placement would be great.
Nice content. The back Smith kick flip out is one of the tricks I've been wanting to get down, I can do fs Smith kick flip out, but I never tried bs before. You did it so well! It makes me want to Learn it right now, lol
u could definitely give advanced trick tip videos. What i mean is that the internet is flooded with basic trip tips like how to kickflip and noseslide, but you have the skill to share tips that are more advanced like in this video u shared some tips with flip outs that would help out with higher level skaters.
I’m so glad you did flip outs first! Maybe I’m speaking for myself, but flips ins naturally made sense to me. But flips outs have always baffled me. This helps SO much and am hype to take these tips to learn my dream flip out of fakie tailslide fakie heel out! These videos I’ve found more helpful than the standard trick tip. Thanks for everything!
This is fckg good ! Admire your style since I first saw your part in color theory, it just got better years after years. This channel is gold thanks for doing that ! Would be interesting to know how you approach a completely new trick ? Much love from Quebec city, cheers !
Anyone think it matters how tight or loose the trucks are for solid dismounts from krooks? Like maybe a little more spring from a slightly tighter truck? Or, is it all skill from anticipating the end and then popping precisely at the right time? My trucks are loose and I can't dismount that well. Tom, you're killing it.
i dont think it matters, not too much anyways, i know people with super loose trucks that can still do crook flip outs...its just geting the timing and pressure feeling of the pop out. hard to explain haha...but shouldnt matter too much loose or tight.
I’ve been trying to get fakie tailslide bigspin out along with fakie tailslide 270 out consistently. Definitely a challenge finding the sweet spot to pop onto the ledge and slide.
Thanks for this video. I have some goals this year. Front smith kickflip out being one of them. I've been frustrated with it lately but watching this, especially the process of each trick you did is great to see.
So hyped on this. Both nollie heel and nollie bs crook. The load up or pocket of pop you have to create took my left leg .like 8 years to build that strength. Turns out at 32 my hip was shot. Love "How to"/Nuts and bolts vids from Pros. Keep it up, Tom! One thing that I tell people with flipping out of tailslide or noseslide is "when you get to the flip out part, pretend you're on a trampoline." It sounds stupid until you've tried it with that in mind, but I would always try to flip out like I was doing a normal kickflip (which never worked). But when I started, essentially, "bouncing into the flip" the board actually would suck up to my feet instead of me just kind of falling on it. Imagine you're on a trampoline with a skate deck... if you've ever done it, you know you have to like hop, pull your feet up and the deck will suck up to your feet. Again, that explanation is kind of confusing until you try it, but it really does help.
This is so sick. Thanks Tom! Just got back into skating. I have to lose some weight and then I’ll get back to tricks. I bought like 35 pairs of ‘eS shoes lmao. I started skating in the late 90’s, so I love me some ‘eS!!
Appreciate this one Tom, been tryna heelflip out of a roll-on 50-50 at my local parks kicker, soon as the ice thaws I’m gonna head up and try!! 👊🏻🔥 Also might not seem like a big thing, but you putting that that first nollie crook nollie heel before the second one shows you’re an honest guy 👊🏻
