Oh my gosh his meows completely freaked out my cats. They ran window to window to look for him and didn’t pay attention when I tried to show them it was a video. I still can’t get them to settle

He's so handsome!! What a sweet kitty! I have a highlander as well and just FYI although they dont have the same ear problem as a scottish fold.. they have other issues. Because of their curled ears, their ear canals are also curled inside so its much tighter and could accumulate more dirt. Per my vet's advice, I have to flush my boy's ears once a month. But they're the sweetest kitty! Luckily I've been bathing and grooming mine since he was a kitten so bath time is pretty chill for us. Some whines here and there but after he just chill in the warm bath and let me do my thing. They're the best!
I'm surprised you touched only on the ear cleaning and not the possibility for Manx syndrome. Any cat with the shortened tail caused by the Manx gene (which is a class of T-box mutation present in Manx, American Bobtails, Pixie-Bobs, and Highlanders) can have issues with rear end function (including incontinence and issues with their rear limbs.) From a read through a research paper on the subject ("Multiple mutant T alleles cause haploinsufficiency of Brachyury and short tails in Manx cats"), it is much more likely to affect cats with the 'rumpy' or 'rumpy riser' tail-lengths, but it can happen to any cat w/ a T-box mutation. All shortened tail lengths can be present in a given litter (even with short x short crosses), making this very difficult if not impossible to control for. The gene causes malformation of the vertebrae at the end of the spine, which is why they have the shortened tail, and can also cause malformation of the spinal cord which leads to the other health issues. Please be aware of this and prepared for it, anyone who wants to adopt/buy a kitten from one of the mentioned breeds! I'm very glad your cat was unaffected, btw; my comment only serves to add to your provided education comment as well on the breed.

@JB-hw5sb so they come in varying lengths naturally, im not a breeder so I don't know the chances of what the litter could produce, both my kitties are full length tails from parents that had natural short tails (1-2 inches) but they can also have a rump length which is no tail at all, and they look like little bear butts 🤭 my first big guy didn't have a tail and his booty was so cute. He was a big boy, about 20lbs. My current kitties are both around 10lbs but they're just over a year old right now

@kecollyer yea my experience so far is that they're high energy in their younger years and cuddle bugs (probably like most cats) their temperaments are very chill that I've experienced so far. Which is probably a testament to a good breeding program

Obrion (sp?) is one of the cutest cats I've ever seen. The ears and the tail with the stocky body and the polydactyl paws... he does indeed look like the kind of cat a wizard would have in his tower, privy to all of his secrets of magic.

Us humans need to figure out what sounds actually bother cats. It's not really the loudness, I had cats sleeping on my speakers all the time, but then some random mechanical noise would happen in another room and they'd turn into angry puffballs.
My gal seems to react the same way. Constant, loud, rhythmic noise, like music or the TV, 📺 doesn't bother her, but a "distant," sudden, mechanical noise will put her on alert! Or, she will go hide in one of her hidey-holes.
i was watching a good mythical morning video (the one with trendy tiktok foods) and in it, two of the people were doing a bit and being loud and annoying and every time they talked, my cat angrily glared at the tv LMAO she doesn't mind other noises but THAT did not sit well with her

My cat died last night at home after a long battle with kidney disease, I am absolutely heartbroken and so are my kids. Me and her laid on the couch so many times watching these videos. She was a lap cat, beautiful albino with eyes clear as the sky. I adore animals❤️

@ Obrion makes me think of Men in Black, it was a big part in it. Also accents change pronunciations and you can catch Obrion at times.

Us humans need to figure out what sounds actually bother cats. It's not really the loudness, I had cats sleeping on my speakers all the time, but then some random mechanical noise would happen in another room and they'd turn into angry puffballs.
My gal seems to react the same way. Constant, loud, rhythmic noise, like music or the TV, 📺 doesn't bother her, but a "distant," sudden, mechanical noise will put her on alert! Or, she will go hide in one of her hidey-holes.
I think it's the sound of engines and motors. We just heart a high pitched whine, but they can hear every revolution of the motor.
Mine hates the sound of velcro and fizzy drink bottles opening lol
i was watching a good mythical morning video (the one with trendy tiktok foods) and in it, two of the people were doing a bit and being loud and annoying and every time they talked, my cat angrily glared at the tv LMAO she doesn't mind other noises but THAT did not sit well with her
