Props to him. Thats a pretty tall ledge for his first tailslide ever. I learned mine on a box about the height of a curb.

I fell like Aaron adopts kids to give them skate supports
With front tails, it helps me to rotate my body before poping to get my tail on the ledge easier. If you watch some videos of Luan Oliveira doing front tails, you'll notice he rotates his body just before poping his board.

I quited skating 4 years ago, and then 2 years later i saw my friends skating and suddenly feel the urge to skate again and so here i am, on my board again after 4 years. The only thing that worries me is that i can ollie, backside 180 and shuv it but it's not that consistent and i'm 16, plus many of my friends quited skateboarding except for. Well i'll be graduating to college next year and hopefully i can find some good motivational skaters as my skate buddies who will support me. It's part of my dream to start a crew.
I'm 24 and I've started skating again after about 4 years, your videos are really helpful man. This is one trick I could never get when I was skating in my younger days! Respect to Devin for landing that! Guna get this down at the skatepark before I leave tomorrow! Booya!

I learned front tails and front lip slides on ledges before kickflips or even a boardslide on a rail. It was just so much easier to turn frontside over something because front 180s are my go to trick

Hate to beat a dead horse but I would really love a Braille skateboard app for my phone. I never skate without my phone and the possibility of skating w real time assistance seems like a tremendous idea. Also their is a total lack of quality apps that offer skate support and none are as detailed and well explained as Braille.

I learned front smiths and front 5-0's before front tails I think they help you get more control for front tails.

Hey Aaron, im working on a butter bench of my own and i was wondering what you used for the planks on the top. I used spruce 2x4's for my first bench and it is really sticky. Thanks
I learned these yesterday cause I couldn't get backside ones. Tailslides are imo the funnest slide and easiest to do flip tricks out of. The same day I learned tailslide i learned tailslide 270 shove out. And I'm not even that good at skating it's really fun and easy
I'm trying to learn these too, I can do them on smaller stuff, but as soon as I try them on my big box I just can't pop high enough.

I've always had prob with tail slides, always too much weight on my opposite foot

Tip: just turn your body more before you get onto the tailslide and you're good
Shouldn't you learn your first tailslides on something low like a curb? And practice ollying into tailstalls or 180's up the curb first? Ledges this size seem a little too advanced for first timers, no?

It depends on the person, which is more comfortable
I thinks so
For me tailslides are way easier. I can get onto lipslides too and slide them but landing is really hard for me. I just cant bring the whole board down from the ledge. Landing a tailslide however is as easy as moving your weight away from the top of the ledge and turning you feet straight.

That's not a correct rule to use. Your body is not facing forward during an (ollie) frontside boardslide or noseslide, for example. Regardless of whether you're turning 90 degrees fs or bs into the trick, It's only about whether the ledge or rail is in front of you or behind you before you pop. The rule is not quite the same as describing body rotations.
Benji backside means that your backside is facing the ledge frontside is where your frontside is facing the ledge
