I have a major tip for anyone still struggling.
I used to not be able to get my back wheel off the ground at all and it was mainly all because I didn't pop hard enough (due to me being scared to pop hard for some reason and that could of gone alot easier if I was already comfortable on my board) and I also did the foot drag motion somewhat but I only dragged it up a little or bearly at all. I also had the timing all wrong because I kind of took it like steps (pop, drag, land) but really its just supposed to be all at one motion. I finally got my ollies off the ground after getting educated about them and really understanding the proper way to do them. It wasn't just that but it took me a lot of practice and I mean alot like 3 hours a day straight. PRACTICE IS VERY IMPORTANT TRUST ME IT PAYS OFF AND I LEARNED THAT. but annyways here is a list of things you should know for your ollies:
    1. Bend your knees and use them as a spring when you jump
    2. Actually jump while doing the motion
    4. Think of the pop as a flick of your foot
    5. Think of dragging first, because the pop is really quick and it will happen if you know how to do this correctly. (This works for me when I think about it because it helps me always get the timing right but it doesn't work for everybody)
    6. When all 4 wheels are in the air push down the foot that you dragged down to the ground, while lifting the other foot that you popped.
    7. Alot of vids or ppl dont mention this but the drag foot placement before you ollie is super important. If you are a bit taller put the foot you drag with closer to the foot you pop with. If you are shorter like me put the foot you drag with further away from the foot you pop with. (BUT MAKE SURE THAT YOUR FOOT YOU USE TO DRAG IS STILL CLOSE TO THE MIDDLE)
    8. Land each foot on the bolts
    9. If this still doesn't work go back to the simple motions of pop, drag, and land and keep on doing them over and over.
The best advice I can give to you is to practice you will get it eventually and be consistent like do it everyday even if you just try 10 a day you will see some improvement in a week.
If you have any questions feel free to reply!! Have a good day/night
YALL CAN DO THIS I BELEIVE IN YOU🤗

Same. I was never very good but could Ollie decently. A few days ago I must've tried to Ollie about 40 times in my daughter's board, most were barely off of the ground but was able to do a couple that were likely close to 18'". It was fun but then I remembered that I'm 35 and my back started hurting.

Try putting your front foot just a little behind the front bolts. You don’t need a lot of slide to get a good Ollie. Some try to slide way too much at first and it only makes it harder if you’re not use to the motion already.

I think I did it, a little one, I was looking for advice since I was practicing rn and I just did one😂😂😂 I'm so fking happy. The error that I've made is written in this quote of an article "This can happen for a lot of reasons, but the biggest one is that you are not crouching low enough before your ollie, and not pulling your feet high enough after you jump. When you crouch down, try and touch the ground. When you jump, try to hit yourself in the chest with your knees." This helped me alot in just three days trying to ollie. Mixing what is said in this vid plus this quote has made me improve alot. Now I need to upgrade my poping, and trying this in concrete.
Also, try to face ur fears, If ur so scared to ollie try doing on grass as said in the video.😊

This is the first video I watched to try and get (back) into skating. I tried for a year or so in HS back in the day. Bitd being the 90s. I had the Valley board, the one I think had a purple? elephant on it. Now my 5-year-old daughter is just starting to take up the sport and I want with all my heart and soul to teach her how to Ollie once she has the basics down. So it begins. Again.

    Practice this for 5 minutes
    Practice that for 5 minutes
    *Then do an ollie*
    If you can’t do it
    practice *again*

a tip for everyone learning how to ollie. if your struggling to get the board up off the ground. Focus primarily on the dragging of your foot. When you pop your board, look at your foot, and make sure your getting that sliding motion in correctly. Once you have that down, you pretty much got it
