    First, thanks for the tips. I’ve watched so many videos and you are the first person to specify nitrile gloves and why. I didn’t know they repelled the chemicals. Great tutorial and the painting was beautiful! Thanks again! 💐

      Thank you so much and thanks for watching 🤗 I'm so glad you found this helpful. I wish more people would mention the nitrile gloves. I also see a lot of people not using gloves at all. Which is so scary because over time if it gets on your skin you can develop an allergy to epoxy. Then you won't be able to use it.

    Looking to repair my 1st piece 😢. I used a pouring medium for a top coat and ended up with cracks so hoping this will rescue the damage done. Might be shopping 🛒 around for a respirator 😷, resin and heat gun today.

    • @naptimecreations
      @naptimecreations  Год назад +1

      Yes the resin will hide those cracks. I use a 3M respirator you can get them off amazon. The cartridges you have to buy separately they attach to the mask and I also use 3M brand for the cartridges. They need to be filters for vapors and gasses. It will say in the product description.
      For resin I like to use the LET'S RESIN epoxy. You can get it off Amazon

    Absolutely stunning piece of art !
    When torching the work, how close can /must you go ? The flame almost seems to be touching the work !

    • @naptimecreations
      @naptimecreations  5 месяцев назад

      Thank you so much and thanks for watching
      The flame has to be right above the artwork to pop the bubbles.
      A heat gun works well too. I reccomend heat guns over torches.

    Literally, how many hours does it dry out? And how strong is the smell, like if I bring back my painting 30 mins after applying resin to my room, does it still smell? Big Thanks!

    • @naptimecreations
      @naptimecreations  4 месяца назад +1

      It takes 24 hours to dry and yes it smells.
      Work in a well ventilated area and wear a respirator mask when working with resin.
      Some brands smell more than others.
      This brand I use now is low odor. It's LET'S RESIN epoxy, I do still recommend wearing a respirator mask and working in a well ventilated area even if it's low odor.

    Beautiful! I noticed your pour is really shiny before you put on resin, do you seal you pours with varnish before you finish with resin?

    • @naptimecreations
      @naptimecreations  2 года назад +2

      Thank you so much and thanks for watching 🤗 I don't varnish prior to adding resin. The paints I use dry really glossy. I use the artist loft brand pre mixed ready to pour paints from Michaels website 😁

    When we resin coat our paintings, we keep getting like drip edges along the outside edges of the canvas. I’m not sure what that’s from could be too much resin everything is I know that thank you.

    • @naptimecreations
      @naptimecreations  3 месяца назад +1

      You have to take your gloved hand and cover the edges too. Make sure there's enough to cover the edges well. About 30 mins after you pour go over the edges again with your gloved hand. That will help eliminate the drip lines.

      @@naptimecreations OK I will definitely try that we only did it one time I didn’t go over a second time half an hour later thank you very much

      Just wanted to add that if you've used tape on the backside of the canvas, you can easily remove the tape/drips with a heat gun or possibly a hair dryer to warm the tape/drips for easy removal heating smaller sections at a time.

    Great video. Can you coat an acrylic painting in clear resin to protect it long term? I tried to do clear resin in the past on a different project but it dried misted/opaque don't know what I did wrong

    • @naptimecreations
      @naptimecreations  Год назад

      Thank you, yes most definitely you can. This is was an acrylic painting I coated in this video.
      There could be 2 reasons why that happened. The resin you used might be very thick and had a lot of air bubbles. That can give a Misty overall look if you don't use heat to get them out. You can use a culinary torch or heat gun. Just keep a fire extinguisher close if you use a torch.
      Also if the paint wasn't completely dry or had any oil additives. It can cause the resin not to cure right. Resin hates moisture.

    What am I doing wrong if my resin is pitting/getting divots on top of my canvas acrylic pours?

    • @naptimecreations
      @naptimecreations  6 месяцев назад

      Your canvas might have oils on it from the paint or natural oils from your hands. You can sand it with some sandpaper by hand, make sure you wear gloves and a mask when sanding. Clean off with 91% isopropyl alcohol and clear coat again.
