- Hey guys my name is Ben and welcome back to another video. For years, I have been lusting over an e92 m3 and today is the day where I finally purchased one.

Welcome to the club mate! Had mine a year, and like you, was always the dream to own one. Yeah, nothing is cheap about them, and the fuel meter bong goes off more than my WhatsApp, but as you’ve realised, it’s all worth it!! Got mine booked in for the OEM exhaust mod; cat delete and remap next week-cannot wait!!

great car mate congrats, please just make sure that you always let the engine warm up to 90° oil temp.. all the M engines are quite sensitive in that regard.. as long as you keep that in mind you will have a lot of fun for a long time with your little toy^^

The E92 M3 is also my dream car, but as I can only have 1 car for everything, I could not quite justify the running costs of using one on a daily. The noise, the drama, and the handling, is just incredible.
I went for an M140i (2017) for about the same price. It's not quite as hardcore, or special, but it's a bit cheaper to run, and still a great daily compromise. I had a cheeky remap done already, so it's running well over 400bhp (and 576nm torque !!!),
It has the adaptive suspension so it's nice in comfort mode but stiff in sport+, and like you, makes me grin like a Cheshire cat when I'm driving it 'enthusiastically' (0-60 in 4 seconds flat).
I'm a little jealous lol, as I love your car, and well done for following your dream !

As an E92 M3 owner, I can say that you were smart to go for an M140i as your do-it-all car. I absolutely love the M3 on the weekends though.

Also if you wanna keep using 10-60 oil i recommend you to change rod bearings to BE ones, they have bigger clearens for the thick oil! and also ARP bolts
Or oem bearing set but thinner oil, like m1 0-40, if you dont track it.
BOJI4APa bmw didn’t spec the oil for no reason.run the correct oil and warm it up right you’ll be fine

One thing that would keep me away of new M3s is specifically the fact that they're not V8s anymore but I6 engines...so sad.
But if I were really rich, I would be one of those crazy guys who would buy the new G80 M3 and put in a V8 engine in it, no matter the cost...lol.
V8 sounds are incomparable.

I would get your bearings changed for safety,awesome you got an manual.i also have a modified manual m3 and you can’t beat it!! Dct is fab but three pedals rule if your a driver. It’s a hugely engaging car,I’ve driven 4 z4’s and don’t find them any more engaging plus the s65 is prob the best n/a engine they have ever made. Mine is being supercharged in March to which I’ll stick some videos up. Primary decat and map soon 😉

If your cars stock the decat and map helps loads! I’ve had mine like it for nearly 3 years and it certainly gives more mid range and a nice bit more top end. These cars love to be revved so rev the bastard out they love it

Look into Troyjeup S65 S85 engine builder. Troy recommends 5w50 redline oil instead of 10w60 gear lube. Also he recommends 90c thermostat (motoRad 880090 from Dodge Viper) which will allow s65 s85 come to temp much quicker. Premature rod bearing wear happens on cold start with 10w60 which is too thick to lubricate the tight tolerance bearing.
I own an e92 m3 comp pack 2013. I made the switch to 5w50 and to warmer tstat and my s65 idles soo smoothly and revs much quicker. Also the warmer thermostat leans out the engine a bit, which tightens the cylinder walls for better compression and cleaner burn. More compression equals more power and less oil consumption. Great video and great car man. I am going to get one this summer. Changing from diesel 230hp. Never had petrol before. What shall do as a first thing when I get the car of my dreams. I mean what shall change, oil belts anything else. I will appreciate all helps.
Its reccomend the rod bearings are changed at about 60k miles, so look out for that. All in all, just make sure it's been well looked after tbf, with lots of service history. I'm lucky as mine has had some serious OCD oil changes 👌

Tbf is just 'to be fair' sorry should have put that 😂 and rough coat of rod bearings is around £1,500

I buy a m3 to spin out, burn outs, drifts and power slide. You should take a drifting course you would love your car even more.

Warmer thermostat (motoRad 880090 90c) will significantly improves your mpgs and reduces oil consumption. 79c stock thermostat is too cold to oil thermostat which is aroun 101c, the 90c matches up better to s65 oil thermostat. Look up Troyjeup on Instagram no affiliation.
Whats the oil consumption like? had an E92 M3 for about 12 months and it drank oil, had to top up 1 liter every 3k miles .. Got rid of it last year for an F82 M4 . way faster car and lots of torque down low makes it alot more fun to drive especially with the dct gear box

@@ajmedia1274 Pfft, no way, it's faster, sure, but it just doesn't have the atmosphere (the sounds) nor the throttle response of the e92 M3.
How much are road and registration tax? Here it’s 3000 euro annually plus 2000 registration tax 😢

Who knows, everywhere I've looked had referred to it as Silverstone blue and even said it on the ad when I bought it 🤷🏼♂️

Incredibly reliable. Only had to change an ignition coil and fuel rail sensor

Great choice and congrats on the 35is. Both are fantastic cars! The MPG in the M3 is SHOCKING. My 35is was much, much better

I average 250
Z4M > E92 M3 the Z is so much more engaging to drive and the m3s torque band is so high you rarely get the opportunity to exploit. Really didn’t like the e92 after the e46 M3 felt big and not very engaging, had 2 Z4Ms since and never looked back
