After you decock it is it safe to carry with the safety off or does the hammer set on top of the firing pin.

That’s a great question. I’ll have to contact walther about this. But, as always, I always say never trust a man maid part. They can always fell. That’s why I always treat a firearm as locked, loaded and ready. It could go off at anytime, even with it a “safety” in place.

I've seen others pull the tab down when putting the slide back on. I pulled mine on just like you did... any function issues?

I didn’t experience any issues when putting the slide back on. The slide went back on easily and the firearm was fully functional. I will research the Walther PD380 with some other users to see if they experienced any functional problems and will post them here if I get any reports.

Seriously bothers me this pistol does not have a slide lock/release. I like most walther pistols and was excited to try this one, but ended up passing it up due to that.
