- Clyde Lawrence and Gracie Lawrence have been writing songs and listening to countless Stevie Wonder, Randy Newman, and Aretha Franklin records in their family's New York City apartment since they were little kids. After years of playing together, they officially created Lawrence, an eight-piece soul-pop band comprised of musician friends from childhood and college. The band has since gained a devoted following for its high-energy, keyboard-driven sound, which features tight, energetic horns, explosive lead vocals, and fully-live arrangements.

This band is the REAL DEAL! Love the vocals of both Clyde and Gracie and the band are all pro players!! Clyde rocks the keys, and Gracie has the most incredible range and originality. I'm an old guy, but these kids give me HOPE!! They have old souls and have definitely done their homework when it comes to the classic soul and pop sound that they make their own. GREAT BAND and thanks to JITV for this opportunity to see more of them!!!

A bunch of years ago I saw a band called Lake Street Dive for the first time. Like many people I was BLOWN AWAY! I get exactly the same vibe with this band. Seriously impressive production, arrangement, and presentation. Original, creative, TALENTED, and y'all have a very distinct identity. You're different...and you bring something to the table that wasn't there before you arrived. You make your own space, you're fun, and you're interesting. Please be successful...cause I want to see more of you.
