From the desolate great southern plains of Texas, Rattlesnake Milk mimics the sound of the prairie; summoning the howl of a coyote and pulsing moan of a freight train. While farming cotton for a family friend, Lou Lewis found inspiration in the empty flatlands of his home and the vintage of airwaves of KDAV 1590AM, recording 8 demos in his childhood bedroom. The demos paid homage to his favorite dust bowl migrant songs and haunted musical gems from the 50's and 60's. Andrew Chavez (La Panza/Psychic Flowers), Corey "Chencho" Alvarez (Veda Moon), and Eric Pawlak now help Rattlesnake Milk capture the lonely, driving soundscape of the Texas panhandle on their latest album "Chicken Fried Snake".

Anyone else notice how alot of the songs on the album are told from the perspective of different characters of the same situations. The bar tender, the daughter, the father and the person who got their heart broken by the daughter. So sick and so trippy

Such a great video and set! I love Jam in the Van AND this band! I've seen them play in Austin a few times, my favorite was at Little Darlin'. Their self titled album is so good and liking the new album a lot too. Giddy up!!! 🤠
I've been completely enthralled with this band ever since I discovered them a couple months ago... the sound and the STORYTELLING is soooooo good.... I'm a huge fan of the Growlers & this is the only other group that has ever scratched that itch for me the way they do. It's those haunting melodies and unique voice. Gotta see y'all live some day! x
