Black Powder Fast Draw: Experience the adrenaline-fueled thrill!

- For entertainment purposes only: I fast draw and fan a single action revolver firing black powder cartridge loads. Enjoy that special western movie flash, boom and smoke of real black powder cartridges going off and sending hot lead down range.
Warning: Never fast draw single action revolvers while shooting live ammunition. Развлечения
I love your videos. I have nothing to do with guns myself and have never even touched one, as I live in an EU country. But there's something about the whole vibe of your videos. When I'm feeling really down about my day, my life, or my job-especially now that I'm 40 and facing another career crossroads-just watching you shoot and listening to your stories lifts my spirits. Your videos make me feel like I'm in a different place, somewhere closer to nature. In this particular video, even the distant sounds of a train resonated with me. I know it's corny, but it helps. Somehow, it motivates me to work on my own goals and to focus on how I want to live my life in the near future.
Wow! I'm glad my videos have that impact on you. That is my goal, to take the viewer away for a while to a very cool place.
Freedom
In EU countries guns are legal. And probably the Europeans are the best shooters in the World, check who wins MLAIC or ISSF
championships.
@@Provo647but they are pretty expensive to get in as a hobby.
I own a bunch of crossbows since they are still legal here in Germany.
But ofc I can't carry it on me
@@TUCOtherattYes! Well done fer sure, TUCO. I live in Ohio & every time I see one of your videos it absolutely drives me out to my range. Also sometimes when I'm watching The Good The Bad & The Ugly, I almost tear up. I grew up watching Clint & John so you can imagine the connection I have with Western Cinema. (The Good The Bad & The Ugly is permanently in my bedroom DVD player lol).
This is sooooo cool to watch with live ammo, im a 55yr old Englishman and i grew up watching cowboys and Indians movies, always loved the fast draw but to see it done FOR REAL with live rounds is a buzz, your feeding my addiction.! ✌🏻💙🏴
Thanks! It's great to hear from someone who has the passion like I do for the western movie genera as well as for the real thing!
That 1.54 run, even with a miss that draw was quick and clean.
Target was down down before he realized his mistake 😂.
Good shooting as always. Keep at it, loved the black powder display also.
Thanks man!
The creaking of the leather is so satisfying
... wow, black powder, as you said (paraphrase) "boom, flash, smoke ..." and the recoil too ... thanks for sharing this ...
Shooting black for sass I keep them going through a match with a little moose milk to prevent binding. Works like a charm.
Man I’m excited. I’m at work but this will be good to watch for sure.
Don´t get caught my man 🙂
My first hand gun was a single action Ruger Blackhawk in .44 mag. I still have it. That was my carry gun for a long time because it was the only hand gun I had. I didn't fan or anything, but I practiced with it often.
I've owned a Ruger Single Six and a New Vaquero.
Boy does this bring back memories.
Many years ago I went over to my friends house and he had a navy colt replica. He invited me to shoot it and we had some fun. Of course, it’s a little slow shooting because it was not converted so we had to load it the old-fashioned way.
When we got done, we go in the house and to my absolute horror he sticks the pistol, barrel up, under the faucet and runs hot water through the barrel and through the cylinders. He saw my expression and he just laughed. He said that’s the way you got to do it.
Yeah, black powder sure does leave a mess. 😂
2nd run you hit it 4 times. 1st and last shot hit the same spot. You've got mad skills.
Great video. And as you say, it's just cool. Probably the coolest videos on youtube. Thanks!
I believe the reason that we all start getting worse or sloppy when we are shooting extra well in a session is because we subconsciously think we can’t just keep beating our best time/grouping so we start just going through the motions… That’s when I personally pack up an come back another day…Excellent shooting Tuco.🤠🇺🇸
That was fun to watch, TUCO. Thanks and good shooting. Be safe.
Thanks for tuning in!😃
I love your work and pure honesty! This is what allows meto get the best grasp of all the details of the training process and how to get there! Thank you! You are a great teacher!!!
I appreciate that! Thanks!
There's Cool and then there's Tuco Cool 😎. Which even the "Fonz" steps aside for. 🤘🤠
Ha Ha!👍
When you mentioned about "forgiving", I felt that personally as I finally got a modern gun for self defense. I enjoyed blackpowder shooting, but forgiveness of them are 0, lol. Now I'm considering getting back into shooting those since I'm finally back on range. And just as I looked into 1911, you flex this! You sir have truly mad skills.
You should. Thanks for the nice comment!😃
Legendary! Well done TUCO!
I own a 50 cal Hawkin, ....BP is a different style and way of doing things. Alot of fun, very accurate, and a heck of a nice weapon. I use Lyman Conical over 90gr FFG powder drop. A tack driver at on a 6"paper plate @ 100yds. I can't imagine the men during the Cival War....(I was brought up in Gettysburgh,PA). It is a Devastating deer round.
Very epic. Also love the sound of the spurs❤
Рядом железная дорога это очень по ковбойский!)
Never been seen? My 83 year old mom shooting an 1876 Winchester. She mean, kiddo. Thanks for sharing, really enjoy your show.
Absolutely superb, really enjoying your episodes thank you 👌
:)
Fantastic Revolver.

I love cow-boy
I am subscribed and every once in a while. One of your casts rolls up in my feet. They always breaking my day. And I will say again sure that you are a true individual. Please keep coming up with something because I love these. And your honesty about your own successes and failures is impressive.
Thank you so much. Glad you like them!
Great video Tuco, I shoot in the CFDA (I know it's not your thing) and yes I've never seen anyone shoot fd using black powder loads before. I like the period authenticity of it and I hope you will do more videos like this one using bpl's, just make sure you keep the wind at your back lol. 🤠
Thank you. I knock fast draw competition but I understand that the rules have evolved to where they are for understandable reasons. More fast draw/fanning range time coming soon!
Great shoot. Love the blackpowder!
Please keep making these videos, I don’t shoot but gosh darn you’re good at this! Very entertaining. It’s also very educational … and so much more ….
Thank you Sir. More to come soon!
Hey if they didn’t film it, they can’t prove it! Or something like that! Very innovative idea, Tuco! And those runs are nothing to shake a stick at! Well done!
Thank ya kindly Andrew!😃
Wow the comment from Simon (six months ago) is pretty heavy. It is amazing how your videos have touched other people. As a citizen in this country I sometimes take our shooting freedom for granted. Its so important what you are doing. You're training and entertaining most of us. For other people its a completely different situation. You are just concentrating on the quality and quantity of your hobby and for other people they are taken to a better place. B Best wishes and keep up the great work.
Thanks for that nice comment Sir. 😊
That was awesome sir
you really motivate me to start shooting black powder SAA revolver! thank's for the video keep going. 👍
Thanks. I like black powder and smokeless. I get more uninterrupted shooting with smokeless but now and then I go to BP just for the experience.
As always awesome video Tuco. Thanks for making the day awesome again. By the way, do you like the heavier feel of the gun or do you just like it for handling recoil? I know you said it slows the draw so that’s a fine line to balance. But I personally seem to always like the heavier feeling guns I own, and that’s probably why I like Rugers so much.
It shoot-able but the weight is in the wrong place. I have a race gun built by an unknown gunsmith that has 2 ounces of lead between the grips and it really handles nice. I'm going to try doing that to one of my guns this winter year to improve balance.
@@TUCOtheratt on the one I am building out of the old model vaquero I think that’s what it that I like and think is nice with the larger cylinder and frame. It has extra weight on the back end and not the front end. I didn’t really realize that’s why I like the way they shoot and feel so much. I was considering changing the barrel out for more weight but now I think I’m going to do everything else first and run it a good bit before I try to add weight to the front side somehow.
Bravo on your clear presentation and the realism of no editing. Also the warning on handling the perilous fast draw
Thanks for that!😃
I have the GW Pietta US Marshal that came with 45 Colt and 45 acp cylinders but it has a standard round 4 3/4" barrel. Nicely finished and a good stock action with 4 click hammer.
Spent 4 days out your way now back home in MN. Stunning out there.
Great shootin, Tuco.
Thanks 😊
My number one gun channel!
Thanks!😃
Thank you so much. Really love your videos. Take care & God bless.
Thank you Sir!🙂
Awesome work man keep it up. Yup, some of the crazy stuff I do isn't seen anywhere else as well. That train sounds just like the one that runs by my place. 😎👍💯
Thanks! Will do!
When the smoke clears cowboy.
There's just something satisfying about that black powder boom.
Agreed. Sounds like the movies!
The smoke show looks really cool.
Hooah!
So proper. The accuracy unmatched 😂😮
Yep, I enjoyed this and thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it
Good job Mr,
Very nice good show
So nice of you. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing this video.
Long time ago, back when my late father taught me to shoot before he took me hunting, I did what you are doing. And was fanning a Colt style 22L SSA revolver, from the hip like I was quick drawing. I have to say it did not seam hard to do back then. But I have since tried to quick draw while fanning an 1860 Army, cap and ball black powder revolver and that was hard. And to tell you how hard that was, I had bruises on my fingers and palms from trying to fan that 1860 Army with a stock mainspring. I got maybe 3 shots off out of 6 with that 1860 Army, with each try before I gave up.
Ha Ha! Thanks for sharing. It would be very hard with a cap and ball revolver
25 rounds of black powder = pack of Marlboros. Cannot imagine what a Civil War battlefield looked like in the middle of a battle. All the black powder smoke would have made visibility maybe a few yards.
For sure.
Nice, you treat that paint can as well as one of your pistols.😊
Dudeeeee your draw is incredibly fast🤣💯
Thanks 😃
That is masterful work that you do, but to fast for me, not sure would wanna learn how but admire your work !
Thank you very much!😃
Just plain awesome sir 😎
Love the SAA
Man I thought your were about to stroke a 1851 or 60😂. Good show none the less🎉
you should do a video on the top five things never to do when you fast draw!
I really like your videos, and the style of your videos. Only quality from start to finish.
The run at 06:10 was incredible, and if you're 'still learning' then I can't wait to see what mastery looks like!
Do you know if race guns were used back in the day by any real life gunslingers? I mean, maybe not exactly like those that exist today, but I have to believe that someone thought about ways to increase their shooting speed.
Never before seen on RUclips? Or somewhere else like that..... maybe but I have shot live fire black powder quick draw matches among other matches..... back in the 1980s. I think you do a great job though. Love to see your videos
Good show thanks
Good shooting Pard
Thank you!
Now you need to replicate Clint in fistful of dollars after they’ve laughed at his mule.
I've done that with smokeless a couple times but I was thinking of doing it again with BP ammo. It would be even more like the movie
Man your so lucky Tuco. Wish I lived some where like where you do. Get to practice shooting all the time on your own land. Owning a saloon lol. And the train in the background just makes the video 👌🏻.
Thank you. It wasn't always this way. 13 years ago I lived in Florida in the city and watched Hickok 45 on RUclips wishing I had my own range.😃 So you never know.
@@TUCOtheratt Im wishing the same thing from watching your videos and his hahaha. Both have awesome content.
The Triple Shot Saloons lookin Good 🥃🥃🥃
Thank you 😎😎👍
Thank you too for tuning in again!😃
When used to do Cass found that fatigue usually started hurting runs around 125 to 130 rounds
Thanks for sharing 🤠
Nice shooting
Thank you Tuco. I never used black powder, only smoke free shooting.
We're in Idaho now, but we lived in Crow Agency before that. Montana is a wonderful state.
Very good shooting.
This makes me wonder how many people that practiced, cleaned their gins in the "old west"?
I think they had to clean them often or they would not operate but delayed cleaning was very common so most old barrels are badly deteriorated from sulfur corrosion.
@@TUCOtheratt I've just never read about cleaning procedures for guns back then, not that I've ever looked for any references.
@tuc.
hey man, do a saloon gunfight scene. do a whole mini movie. a youtube shorts will do it
Just found your channel and love your videos. Where you at in Eastern MT? I`m south of Bighorn on Tullock creek. I have my own range and love shooting just wish I could be as good as you. I have 2 Uberti`s, one in a .38/.357 and 45 Colt and a New Vaquero. Thanks and keep the videos coming!
Don’t try this at home kids!
I appreciate the continuous shot, no editing necessary for pure badassery and gun ASMR!
Thank you my friend.
Bro the train Ads to the whole scenery
Thats fine shootin... I enjoy the channel!
Questions...
Trains... The Hiline?
Do you cast your bullets?
Thanks for the video...
No near MC. I have cast bullets for my Sharps rifle and I have molds for my other calibers should the need arise and a berm full of many hundreds on pounds of properly alloyed lead. Ha Ha!
Awsome ❤
Nice shooting there some nice and tight shot groups on some of those runs 💯👍 have you ever tried to keep a can jumping around like that fast draw target shooting seen in the western movie Silverado with your skills I bet you could reenact that seen
I might try that. That trick is called call rolling. Bob Munden could do that.
Have you tried ballistol or Blackie Thomas's gun butter for keeping the crud problems down...? Keep shooting and having fun!
I have. Keep in mind I'm speed fanning on the draw, so any drag on the cylinder slows down rotation and effects performance. Thanks for watching!😃
Get a spray bottle filled with a Balistol water mixture and it melts that black powder right off.
So cool. Blondie would be proud.
Ha Ha!👍
Pretty cool alright! 👍✌️
Thanks for another visit my friend!
@@TUCOtheratt always welcome. I can see how you are developing your “unique niche”…..It is inevitable you will get your “big break”….soon. 👍✌️
cranes and trains
Most things are like that. I found that, playing pool was the same for me. You get warned up, and you’re doing well, then, after time, you start to fade.
Well said!
My range shooting also runs cold to hot to cold during an outing. This holds for both rifle and handgun offhand or off the bench. It can get a bit frustrating sometimes.
That's the mental game. One must learn to work with it to gain an advantage. Steve Anderson training helped me a lot.
Firefight rounds of smokeless with a load of 231 and that might clear the stickiness quite quickly it's worth a try.
I like this. Ever try 2,3,or 4 opponents (targets) with one one draw?
I've done 3 and 4. I'm thinking about doing another 3 target video. This time with a wide spread.
TBIRDTED Approved 😂
Tuco I’m moving to Montana to be your full time gunsmith. Hope you don’t mind.
Ha Ha 😃
Always fun watching you... Now with black powder! Do you ever shoot a Pietta?
Most of the guns in my videos are Pietta Great Western II SAAs, as is the gun in this video. I am thinking you're are referring the cap and ball revolvers that Pietta makes.I am currently working on a video featuring Piettas 1851 navy revolver.
Thank you! I appreciate your reply! I've been looking at another SA.... My treasure is my ggf's Colt Navy he carried in the CW. I'll look at Pietta some more. You're great!
This man was injured in a severe incident and continues to out shoot the world record speed shooter in time... Let that sink in, and then consider he's using a SA platform... He's the Adrian Peterson of gunslingers and deserves a hell of a lot more respect! Unbelievable Master Gunfighter Tuco!!! Bravo!
Thanks for the nice comment my friend. Glad you enjoyed spending some range time with me! To be fair I hold no world or other records.
@@TUCOtheratt hand off, standing stationary by draw to center you are one of the fastest to ever do it. I may not be as experienced in the draw, but I do know speed. You Master Gunfighter Tuco are right on it, and definitely can compete! Excellent smoothness.
@@TUCOtheratt also I have a question.? Did you give your pistols names or is that something only a redneck does?
Awesome video! Have you tried spraying Ballistal on your gun for cleaning it in the field?👍🏽😀❤️🇺🇸
Just my thoughts 💭
I prep with gun butter clean with Moose milk and finish with Ballistal
In Case anyone was wondering this is the guy who Took out Buster Scruggs 🤣🤣😁
oh man. what are you going to wear😯
this should be cool😎
its exciting hey✨✌️
counting down.
i just watched the breakfast club.
i took 3 sleeping pills a little while ago then i see this.
counting down . . .
You live in Eastern Montana? Hearing the locomotive 🚂 honk its horn as it went by sounds like it might be one of the trains we load here in Northwest Minnesota and send further West. Kinda weird because it honked simultaneous to the one outside my window as I watch this 😅.
Probably same train 8 hours later!😃
Thumbs up from me 👍
Thank you!
Amazing 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank you and Thanks for the Sub!
Love your videos. Why do you only shoot 5 and not 6 that it can hold?
One chamber is empty for safety.
Do you stay in Montana for the winter or do you "Snowbird"? Ever shoot The Quigley?
Montana all year
Have you tried a Cap and Ball Just wondering how that would work
The hammers are so heavy they are hard to shoot fast but very accurate.
day-um!! .81 draw w/ the heavier gun - seriously awesome!
Do you drop the powder load ?? Lighter projectile ?? .....or full load but not hot ?? Interested when you shot to please describe the round wt & type + manufacture/powder gr......most wouldn't care but us reloaded and enthusiasts do. Thank you and good safe shooting to you.
That was a nearly full case (45acp) of 3f real black powder compressed under the 200 grain bullet as prescribed for black powder loads.
Ever do any shooting with percussion cap n ball revolvers?
A little. Too much time reloading
What black powder loads do u recommend? Like brands or whatever
Good job, see why smokeless powder was invented.
