Uncle Rich is the ultimate car (new or used) salesman. He has the ability to confuse the buyer to the point that they will buy anything, at any price, regardless of evidence to the contrary.
battery is approching 8 years old, but if non performance model AWD, drive unit(s) should last 250k miles. With free supercharging its a deal. Out in CA we pay 38-42c per kwh for just home charging off-peak, so occasionally supercharging up to 80% saves some dinero when I do this on my model s. I personally would top the battery off to 90% every other week to keep the re-balancing algo running as it only does this when you hit 90% from feedback. I know of one tesla model S owner who did this every night and has 350k miles on the original battery and it's now over 8 years old.
Yup, SDUs for the win. My 2014 was actually an LDU failure, not the battery. I have it set to 80% right now but I'll make sure to hit 90% once in awhile! 🍻
meh, my 2012 Model S still charges to 240 miles, drove it July of 2022 rountrip across the country 7,000 miles using only SuperChargers over a 3 week trip.. was fine, and, “Free SuperCharging” for life, so cost nothing, other than time. most of the SuperChargers where at places to eat/bathroom breaks as well.
@@WatchJRGoI didn’t think it would, when I heard that comment. Depending on route, a Chademo adapter with stops at Parsons or Bartlesville to charge and hope the Chargepoint or Francis chargers are working. 😮
Here in Europe Vredestein is not an unknown brand, I think they are from the Netherlands so no surprise their presence in the US is weak. While they are not associated with premium quality like Michelin and Continental they do make a decent selection of tires with good performance for their price point. I think they are perfect if you want something cheap but still safe.
I'm thinking about putting a set of their Pinza all terrains on my 2000 4Runner. They cost as much as any of the other brands and are actually rated higher with more positive ratings and reviews on Tire Rack. From what I read, they are Dutch, having been making tires since 1909 (IIRC) and make a good product. I keep reading that they ride smooth over bumps and imperfections, which is a big part of what I'm looking for.
Stopping for meals, bathroom breaks and stretching your legs, can lessen the "wasted time" charging. On long, cross country road trips, it's not like stopping for gasoline just takes five minutes.
Driving home from Boston on interstate highways will be a piece of cake. Going from Wichita to the lake will be a pain because there are NO superchargers on the direct route.
JR, Where I live in Southern OR (Klamath Falls), and when I lived in Mt. Shasta, Ca just off of I5 Exit 738, there were about 12 Tesla Supercharges & up in Medford which is 70 miles north of Mt Shasta on I5 is 10 Tesla Supercharges right off on I5 & SR 62. if you go south to Redding, CA (about 48 miles South of Mt Shasta there are about the same amount of Tesla Supercharges near the Mall.
I SuperCharged my ancient 2012 Model S on a 7,000 mile cross country and back trip last summer, in many cases hotels & restaurants are nearby, so it works out.. however with all of that said, you are going to average no more than 50mph, even if you drive 70-80mph, because of all of the time used to charge, its just how it is.
So most 2016 models have free supercharging unless it’s exchanged back to Tesla or sold by an auto auction? Any other reasons for it not to have it? And how to be able to look for if it does have it?? Please inform?
Just be sure you have all of your charging stops planned out in advance when you drive that thing back to Kansas. And stick with the main roads! A couple of weeks ago I passed a stranded Tesla on a non-interstate in rural Virginia. Don’t be that guy!

I watched the 2nd video first then this one. i missed the part on the 2nd one where you were saying how great the car was and the stops were not bad. I just remember Rich made a video on his channel where he helped a guy with a a new Tesla that was not paid for - the guy had a battery problem and Tesla told him he needed to replace the whole battery for $15,000 - Rich and crew fixed it for $2000.000.
Hi J.R. It's Great to see you Relaxing around Cars again. Jesus Rich is in the wrong job. He would be a great Financial Adviser lol 😅. That's a very nice Car I think. You dont see any of them over here in Ireland. There are a few other Tesla's here obviously. Will we find out how much you actually bought it for. And how much is it really worth. I couldn't imagine what that's worth. In Euro's as well. A fortune lol 😅. Good luck with getting home J.R. Stay Safe. That will be a good video. Chat later so 😅😅

I just had my pristine 2006 530i BMW trans serviced. 100K on the clock. Now the trans shutters. What the heck? and why? BTW, I'm 2nd owner. Bought it w/ 55K miles from my friends wife. She bought it new at the BMW Dealer in our town. Always serviced at the dealer. Complete records. Always garaged and never driven in inclement weather. No children or animals and only one person has ever rode in the back seat. That was my Mother-in-law.. 3 times only. I'm stumped with this trans. What to do ? Any advice?

$5000/yr in maintenance is horrible!!! That’s $50K per decade. $5000=10($50) oil changes. Another though is during regular driving how often do we actually accelerate to 60 in under four seconds. Only AH drive like that. At least you can hear a hellcat and likewise at least the Tesla is quiet
Out of Spec motoring mentions his charging time. Of course, Kyle hits the starbucks for his complex order and by the time he gets it the car is charged.
