You helped me paint my roof it still looks great! How much paint to I need for the Doors, Trunk and Hood And fenders. On EBay the paint is already thinned urethane and I already Have 2 Quarts. Should this be enough Base to cover car? I only have some primer spots.
What type of filler did you use on the bumper, I am going to attempt a similar repair on my bumper. Can you use bondo or is their a special filler for plastic/rubber bumpers? Thanks in advance

Using anything with power to sand makes me nervous!! Aren't you worried to sand too deeply? How can you help ensure that you're only sanding away oxidized clear coat, not any of the base coat? :-\
If your going to seal it then just stop at 400 because sealer or epoxy fills in 400 grit scratches. If ur going the cheap half ass route you have to sand farther so that the paint won’t shrink into the scratches and then ull see them
Grrr, Nissan needs to take some damn responsibility for cheaping out on paint like they have! It's not just coincidence that like 85% of maximas paint looks this way, unacceptable! 😠🙄

it was 400 wet sand that will give you the best smooth surface for base

no the 1200 and 2000 are used for buffing you can go with 800 wet sand but you don't need it

No if it's already reduced you will need 2 more coat of paint which will make 1gal which will be enough

There is special body filler for bumpers but normal filler can be used in small amounts

Yes apply 1 coat let dry for 10min and apply 2 let dry for 10min and apply 3 coat do the same for clear tip is a 1.3

the best way to ensure your not going to cut to the base is wet sanding it with 320 and then 400 grit wet

I see some people final grit to paint over is 400 wish is better 400 or 600 grit
