When you pull your tape always pull it back over itself. Not up but forward it’ll minimize it pulling the paint edge up and go SLOW. Hope that helps. Happy to see someone doing lace again .
The lace design that you masked out with the points following the lines of the roof really made this paint job look 100% better IMO. You and your dad do great work.
@@CaseysCustoms This took me straight back to my childhood in the late 70's and really liking the low riders built by the LA hispanic builders at the time. I always loved those cars.
Casey, your Pops knocked it out of the park! I would want that in my living room so I could look at it all the time. What a fantastic paint job. I’ve never seen how that was done before so it was cool getting to watch the process. I know for your Dad it was nothing but for a guy like me that has never painted that was awesome!
IT LOOKS AMAZING!! holy cow man what a beaut!! I was just talking with my co worker about possibly doing a lace roof on my 350z as I’m about to paint it this month! I think I’m sold now man good deal! It looks phenomenal!
I want to do a 60's lace paint job on my 1947 Ford Pickup truck. Though the roof needs work with a wrinkle on the back corner on the driver side. Your work is flawless my friend. Thanks for sharing to feed the dream to me.
Great to see the process more fully, thanks for the video. I would have liked to hear your dad narrate and talk about the steps taken, and tips for someone who wants to try this. The silver really ties in with the car’s trim. Beautiful!
@@CaseysCustoms haha fair enough, I can complain all I want but all I did this weekend was 2 oil changes because they where over due. 🤣 Thanks for the content keep it up.
Love how this turned out! I think I'm gonna paint up my new welding helmet with lace because of this video. Can't wait to see what you and your pinstriper decide to do
The lace roof looks terrific on "Hose Nose". I am always amazed how you do your cars with a very small budget. My next build will be inspired by your episodes.
Enjoyed the video hope to do something similar to my truck. so just for understanding you put the black down for the base then put another color the lace then you switch back to the original color to fill the open spaces that way you have the part the lace covered pop out, I know its probably more technical then that didn't know if I was on track or far off.
I've watched a lot of your videos but by far this is the best to me! Keep up the good content. List the steps of colors or products that you used doing this process.
That is one of the best ideas I've seen in a while! And thank you for doing a video dedicated to the lace! Just curious what your thought process was through the whole paint scheme. Like when you put the black base, then added the tape lines did you think any of the black would show through the silver. Would have loved to hear some commentary through the time laps of what went right and what didn't go as planned but still turned out cool as shit! Just a thought. But love your videos man keep up the kick ass work!
At the beginning of this series, I could see your vision for the body. But was having a little trouble with the S-10 Blazer frame idea. As the series has gone along is has sucked me in, from week to week I can't wait to see the next video. This video is like the cherry on top. I wish that my current project was not a truck, because I would like to try this painting style. Who knows, maybe you have giving me a compromise paint idea for my project. Can't wait for your next video. Bart
Dude I like you videos the way they are . It's what makes you you!!! You're videos are better than pole barn garage. Just Just my opinion. Besides do t you want to do you're videos on you're own style or pole barn??? It's you're way of building you wouldn't be able to stop you're way even if you wanted too lol. It's called O.C.D lol. Pole barn has his own .Startin to go in VGG direction now like most of the others because of his success. Nothing wrong with that. But you aren't doing that yet so don't be youself brother!!. Either way you do what makes you want to build the cars.you build them for you !! We're just along for the ride!! Great work keep it up no matter what you choose. There's here's enough for everyone to go around!! if you're happy first we'll all watch you most of all!!!
You and your dad did a great job. I love it. When you pointed out the pearl on the floor was that because it was sprayed on dry over the wet paint or mixed I the paint or sprayed in the clear coat? Thanks for the great video.
@Casey's Customs Damn Casey, your dad's got some serious skills man. This is my favorite build to date bro. For a few reasons...1- She's just plainly a friggin badass set of wheels! 2- She's my most favorite car of the 50s, totally love the two door fastback! 3- You friggin built her, she has alot of... cut some shit up, weld some shit up she's plainly a Casey's Customs RUclips Channel work of art! 4- I friggin totally love the spark throwing tail dragon turbo'd badassness you built into her! 5- The patina an lace work is totally a dream car of mine for at least the last 45 to 50 years of my life! I'm so blown away that the winner of the raffle didn't end up taking this car. I would've starved if necessary to have an keep this dream car of mine. An would've been so proud to post pics an the story on my social media of who built it an how I won it. An hand it down to my son an him to his son an so on! Totally love your channel since I started watching it. Thank you Casey for sharing what you do with the RUclips community. Your the man Casey! It's so awesome watching you take the old and the new an combine them to make some badass wheels! Keep On Keeping On Brother!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Where do you get your lace at? Havent really looked for any yet. But wanting to throw something on my motorcycle soon. And my name is Casey, and i have a beard too😂.
I'm trying to figure that out too. My guess is gray primer, Black base, then Silver, then dark gray or Charcoal gray pearl, then clear coat? Looks great though.
Found it in a storage building, they are rare as hell and only made like 50 kits. Porsche sued them for copyright infringement and they never made anymore after like 1986
Hey KC, have you checked out the holey goat over on pole barn garage ? I think you would dig his style. I think he’s in Missouri somewhere too..? Thanks for great content.

Thanks again, your father does great painting he painted like a machine the way he moves his arm.
He’s been doing it a long as time lol
That is the proper method to spray.
Pearl and lace together looks stunning !

Love it, so creative using the lace!!!!
Definitely move forward. You got so much room. And if it sits too high, you could drop a cowled hood on there! Love the content.
That came out super sick!!!!
Yeah the silver is perfect bro it blends real good and good choice
Did that on my IS300. Awesome work, keep on the good work
That lace beats a vinyl top any day . I never knew it was that simple to do.

So what did you spray on top of the lace at first? Clear? Does it help stick it down before the color layer?
That looks sick.

can i ask you where you got the lace from ...having a hell of a time finding something like yours ....site that you got it from ?
Please tell me where you bought those curtains
What colors did you use in each step? Black base then silver but what did you spray over the lace before clearing the whole thing? Looks awesome!!
