This one and the other tanks are amazing. Fantastic job. I do have a question. I noticed on the few videos I watched that you don't add battle damage. Is there a reason why you don't?
"A nice looking Tiger" is an understatement. That is a fantastic looking Tiger. The guy who's getting that is going to have one great looking conversation piece in his collection. Thank you for sharing all that with us.
Wow. What a superb Tiger. Probably the best I have ever seen. You are a wonderful artist. I just wish my hand was as steady as yours!!! Respect from Ireland.
Sublime work, Not only was the Tiger a work of art but I really appreciate the time and effort that goes into the production of your videos :) Thank you
Great job! It seems like you are using colors that are a wash at the beginning of this video for giving a fading effect to the paint. It gives me new ideas since I can't use a airbrush anymore. I can't get good results using the dot filter method. So I am experimenting with different techniques for fading paint. I am going to try a sort of blotting/stippling technique with a lighter shade of the base color or buff or light gray wash to get the results I am looking for. Experimenting is half the fun! You are very talented!😊
nice result. I read somewhere that the tanks, especially late models, had the tools put on before they got painted, so they would all have the camo painted over them. Might be worth looking into.
Absolutely amazing. You sir, are incredibly talented (and patient). If I tried to paint that model it would end up looking like a three year old’s finger painting.
I like how you showed the before and after.I have two different tanks I want to paint and been looking for tutorials although Im not as much of a detailer as this but was much help.
hi bayin, came across your web site, and youtube videos. a couple a days ago. wow. your models and painting techniques, are fantastic, when you do the chipping on your modelswith the hair spray. do you have to hair spray in between each layer of paint, or can you do two or three layers of paint, and when you dab with a wet brush the effect is the same. showing the different layers of paint, keep up the great work and videos.
This is a whole new level of wow factor! Use it in any movie and it looks real to the point you'll habe to second guess how many Tigers are there in running condition lol
Hi, I am a modeller from Ukraine, I like your work, I look with great pleasure in the process from beginning to end. I would like to see German technique in your performance in gray! Should we expect
I buy a middle prod tiger i from dragon models. I don't have so much money but I will try do the same details of weathering, oil, oxide and rusty effects. I have airbrush and a lot of paints.
Great job. To the question as which colour should be show under chipped off zimmerit, this can only be red in my opinion. Zimmerit started to be used in 1943. Since it was generally factory applied it was done before the factory applied colour, so on the base or primer colour. This was red. Also, in 1943 the default factory applied colour switched from grey to dunkelgelb (darkyellow). So the colour under the zimmerit can never ever be grey. Finally, since the tiger went into production in 1942, an early production tiger can never have zimmerit. Think of tiger 131 of the Bovington museum. Also seen in the movie Fury.
The original undercoat would probably have been red lead oxide, which is a sort of darkish ox-blood red. It’s perhaps also an accurate base coat for chipping unless you want rust colours.
That's a stunning paint and weathering job , but the fenders and all the rest are showing no damage at all . I know it's artistic licence but would one of these tanks have been been operational that long to be that weathered ?
Great work Bayin. Have you thought of using a silicone brush and graphite powder for those final metallic sheen highlights, I find it easier than than pencil or graphite stick.
Amazing model, love the stains on the wheels! When you are applying the pigments, do you use rubbing alcohol in the eye dropper or something else? Also what brand of pigments do you use?
I used cumin, cinnamon and powdered ginger mixed with a bit of varnish and PVA glue to make mud clumps on track and underside. The model is average i suppose but smells real good :)
Wow wow wow !! Stunning , simp!y stunning !! Really well done Bay !! Excellent work !! Can I ask do you ever use a gloss, flat , satin coat anywhere during your process. I'm just asking a few guys as I'm trying to decide whether to cut down on the amount of times I use a protective coat etc !!! Hope your well buddy ?
When drawing the random patterns on the camo, how do you pick the colors of the acrylics and oils you use? I can sort of guess the acrylics, but the oil colors, no idea

Superb skills, and a fantastic example of the fashion for 'artistic' as opposed to 'realistic' weathering.

Amazing work mate. I have an Academy Tiger I in my to-do list. The video gave me quite a ton of ideas on how to do the weathering.
This is a whole new level of wow factor! Use it in any movie and it looks real to the point you'll habe to second guess how many Tigers are there in running condition lol
What an awesome job.Beautiful.
Müthiş bir sanat eseri daha. Adamım yolla gelsin, daha fazla bekletme bizi.
Hi maestro...excellent. When Zimmerit goes off, it should be red. Zimmerit was applied after the tank was painted with red oxide primer.

when you weathering the colors of the camouflage with acrylic paints and oils what should be the surface? gloss, semi gloss matt semi matt?
When drawing the random patterns on the camo, how do you pick the colors of the acrylics and oils you use? I can sort of guess the acrylics, but the oil colors, no idea
