- I always wanted to build a muddy Tiger tank, and because this one operated during the spring of 1945, we can assume the ground wasn't very dry or dusty... so yeah, mud it is!

In the end it took you longer to make this tiger than it did in 1943 in a factory ^^ Outstanding work Uncle!
yeah, talk about being inefficient!
H D How is what he said underhanded criticism?
Last time I was this early this tiger was still green
I’ve just made a weld seam maker and tried doing some weld seams on a king tiger. The video you made a while back was really helpful
@Oliver Viehland the 'maker' is also on Nightshift's video buddy. It goes hand in hand with his method: video is this one ruclips.net/video/F3GlNC2cK8s/видео.html
I only comment because you asked about how to say "porous." We say it like "pour-us." I watch and enjoy all of your videos and you are entertaining and great at communicating technique.
I would pronounce it "Pour-uss"
_pour_ as in a skin-pore or four, and _us_ akin to spies like us, or in walrus.. for myown pronouncing.
I feel like Otto Carius would love this.
His spirit does 😼
@@dotdashdotdash amen
We also should tell Paul Wittmann about this!
I think you are the best modeling channel on youtube 👍👍👍
This is always my favourite step. This takes it from a museum piece on display to an active tank with character, history and function.
Pour-ous? Poor-ois? Poooriss? You crack me up mate, love the videos, hand on my heart this is the only thing I watch in the week (and I watch a lot of stuff on here) that I actually hang out for the release time of it and wake up on a Saturday morning to watch with a morning coffee :)
This whole Fehrmann Tiger series is absolutely freaking brilliant.
It's all coming together nicely Martin. And hey, you ain't kidding about a lot of work making these videos. I know exactly how you feel. They're a lot of fun to make but the hours one needs to produce a quality video are astronomical! Anyway keep the goodness flowing. Cheers!
I finished a airfix 1/76 scale tiger and I followed all of the mud and weathering videos by you uncle. Thank you soooo much
A bit late, but a solution to you feeling its lacking dust and mud tones, is if you have some model leaves, sprinkle some of those on, take a step back and have a look, if it still looks like its lacking even with the leaves on it, then you should add some.
great Video Martin, Keep up the great work
You can't imagine how much I enjoy all of your videos. I just keep watching one after another all night. And also you make a smile on my face quite often, love your style of presenting an your charisma. Sorry for my English I'm not so good at it. Keep it like that mate. I send you a really big hug from distance.
4:58 very smooth👌
You said the dust effects are still lacking something. What about adding some dusty footprints? They are pretty easy to do and can add some more interesting detail on the horizontal surfaces. The Tiger looks amazing btw
I suggested that and he thought it too deep a level of detail.
Yes, he actually said that.
Those streaks on the sides of the lower hull are fantastic!
and it was so easy and fast!
I'm loving this build. I haven't built a model in at least 30 years. But there's something relaxing about watching these little machines come to life with your talent.
" Anyone who can think of only one way to pronounce a word obviously lacks imagination ". Mark Twain ( Probably).
That was definitely Abraham Lincoln
@OriginalYithian except when it's incredibly deep. then it's definitely Jaden Smith
Nah guys, that quote is obviously from Jean Luke Picard.
It´s so cool to see this model getting better and better. It´s a piece of art, I really enjoyed this video
My 2c - I think it needs more heavy mud build up in the road wheels. Right now it looks like a tiger thats been driving on the road and a lot of the heavy "chunky" mud has fallen off. It looks 100% fine as is, but you were talking about adding more and thats where I'd add to make it look more like the Tiger is presently in a muddy combat zone instead of having been there in the past.
This Tiger isn't finish yet? 😲 ... yes, there is plenty of good reasons, cheapping is the best of all and well done Night Shift! 👍
Nice work!
My Friday has improved immensely now. Thank you!
Loved it! I believe the pronunciation of porous is the same as "poor us" which is the exact opposite of us who are rewarded every week with new Tiger videos on RUclips! Love the mud effects, I think I will finally have to break down and get some Tamiya colors and lacquer thinner. All these years and it's been almost all Vallejo paints. I'll make sure to get things labeled "Earth" too. Take care! See you mate, in the next one!
I've actually seen someone make a very realistic dry mud and dust effect with Vallejo (or Panzer Aces range) colors mixed with some Tamiya Flat Base! That would be very interesting to try!
@@NightShiftScaleModels oh awesome! I certainly have some on hand. I'll give it a shot! Thank you 😊
Amazing work Martin... one of the highlights of my Fridays is to watch your videos!
Nearly all done, and I think it looks pretty darn good. I can't wait for the finale Vid. Great work :).
Beautiful work, brother ,
I generally don't like covering everything with mud, but might give this more restrained effect a go; it looks amazing.
Great vid thanks for sharing.
Thank you , Uncle Martin
I use Adam products also on my last build and I love them, and now I learn a new way to use them, thanks Martin for the great tips on this video.
You are very inspiring to us with your techniques. I love your nasty tiger
Always look forward to your Friday update videos. So informative. Have a great weekend, from Texas.
I can't say why, but around the 5 minute mark, I got the urge to subscribe. So I did! AWESOME work and awesome tips! Thank you!
Great brushwork, Martin, your wash/predusting control is remarkable! I usually put a bunch of pigments all tracks, wheels and lower hull which covers everything I previously painted. Your techniques will be of great help!
Hey Uncle Nightshift! The videos for this tank make excellent guides for each step, I'm going back and rewatching them in turn. Tracks next...
I've been noting down the products and materials you've used. I'm not going to reproduce your method exactly, but I'd like to at least get close, and since I've only got a nasty GW mud product, I'm loading up a shopping cart with Wilder and Mig products.
Really superior work, very effective contrasts and tonal and texture changes ......I think really you have your idea of what it should looks like in your mind.
Just fantastic!!!!
Thank you for sharing!!!!
Great work man, following you for a year now and making models after your guidance- kudos!!!
Great job. Look foward to the next video
It's looking phenomenal
Awesome work sir,
this Tiger is looking amazing!
Thank you for the great video. I will paint the tiger according to your lessons.
Awesome effects made to look easy but obviously require a high level of skill and patience. 👍
Looking great!
Excellent! It is just a pitty I can't find those wilder acrylic mud and dust anywhere in Europe...
Awesome job!
Fantastische Arbeit, Bravo !!
Fabulous as always.
I love your videos and tips you share . just great . In India we don't get all these weathering materials so I make do with mixing colors and chalk shavings for mud effect
This is just super amazing ! It’s almost hard to come up with enough complimentary statements. But I am learning so much from watching your videos
Great work! It's looking better and better each video! :D
Like a god😮!!!!! Master class! Thank for this.
I don't know what else you want too add, looks freaking amazing !!!
A LOT 😁
Amazing as always bro!
excellent work!
Some great tips!!! Usual... 👌👌Tiger's looking fantastic... 😍
Amazing work
Thank you for sharing all these great ideas man... Hope i get half as good some day
Add a comment? Okay, "It sure is warm today, too warm to wear this jacket!".Okay, Ill put my comment on track... enjoyed your video and "Subscribe" written on the bottom of the Tiger! I need a lot of help remembering good ways to weather a model and forgetting the bad habits Ive developed! Thanks so much for your help.
Indeed it is!
Looking good!
Das ist toll, Uncle Nightshift. Muddy good tank..
It just gets better and better!!😀
Thank you for another great video👍
Yeah! Uncle Night Shift. My Friday is complete.
I love this dust and mud 😍
5:00 LOL already subscribed my dear uncle Night Shift! Hehe this made me giggle
Great video! You are a master modeler! I would love to actually see you handle any other type of model, like a plane or so, just to see what kind of weathering techniques you would use!
Can't wait to see the final finished model
Great Stuff !
I camped on your channel for this video for an hour.
Simply amazing work!!
100%👍Martin😊.
How are you amazing at EVERYTHING??? Beautiful as always, Martin
looking great brother!!!
Great! As always😊
You should do a work space tour
The tiger is looking awesome. I have been thinking about ordering some of the textured earth products and this video made me make my mind up bout it. About to order them now. Awesome video as always.
niceeee! make sure to go with the "Fine" variant, "Stony" is aimed more towards diorama and terrains
@@NightShiftScaleModels
I really love how real looking your rust effects look specially on the exhaust on tanks but all your rust effects and basically all your effects and weathering lol. All I have is hobby lobby paints cause that's all that is near me,but I am going to put in a big order what all products does the master recommend for weathering and rust and just in general lol. Sorry if that's to big of a question I just really value your opinion cause your the best modeler In the world seriously you are lol thanks for your time it's much appreciated
Dear Uncle Night Shift, I must admit each week I wait in-front of my laptop waiting for your latest releases here on RUclips...with extreme anxiety and anticipation (picture a small child awaking Xmas morning). As I was waiting patiently, I was formulating my letter to the World Modelling Society Hall of Fame Board members. I wanted to inform you that I have never voted, much less wrote a letter, to this very elite group of artists. It is so elite, I don't think V van Gogh has been accepted! I wish you luck and hope that your nomination results in a spot in the WMSHF! BTW it's Pore us...Strong Tenk forever!!
A secret modelling illuminati!!! there's no chance any one of us mere mortals would ever get there!
@@NightShiftScaleModels shhhh, for now it's just you and me Uncle!!
Wow good work my friend you make the best videos i like it a lot that you extend your build and do it in parts so we could pick a thing up
Hi Martin, simply perfect !
Nice detail in the lower hull jajajaj subscribe.
Regards and... Stay home.
Really fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
dang real nice almost done this is real fun
The polished metal effect on the running gear depends on the soil type the tank traversed. Clay soils polish metal like fine wet/dry sandpaper but sandy soil grinds a duller pitted surface that doesn't really shine - I've never managed to get a realistic look on my models, it will be interesting to finally see the tiger with its tracks on.
I think the weathering looks fantastic.....
Tony
I really love your videos and just in case someone hasn’t mentioned it, I’m sure they have. I would pronounce porous
As poor -russ 👍✊
Just commenting to comment. Quality is wayyy up there all the time, so it's pretty useless to mention it in every video I think :D Keep things rolling and stay safe and healthy!
Love that !!!
wow, just wow!
Looks better and better! ;)
Another great informative video Uncle Martin. What I used for mud effects in watered down Elmer's glue and pastels. I'll rub the pastel sticks against sandpaper then apply it generously
wood glue + real earth also kinda works! I used it when I was younger
@@NightShiftScaleModels I do that as well! 👍
I think uncle nightshift needs to do the quarantine challenge
Mate you can paint. Good stuff.
I used those rust Mig Paints on my M4A3 105mm tank that has round deflection marks and it looked great! For the base of the crater I used a metallic silver paint and then put the MiG rust on and it looked great but that’s just the way I did it. Thanks for the tips! 👍
might try the silver paint base next time!
Night Shift 👍
The word you're looking for with the idler wheel/paint sculptor tool is burnishing.
I know what it's missing!
Interior😁just kidding.
Beautiful work as usual👍
may i suggest the next vehicle series after this be a Tiger 2. it looks great i cant wait to see it finished
Finally I'm early!
YESSSSSSSSSSS! 3rd
BTW I'm building a 1/35 M4 Sherman in a diorama with a flak 36/37.
Sweet!
Hi Unc, looks B***dy Amazing. TFS, G :)
Nice
God bless you uncle night shift 😜👌
Watch videos of tanks going through mud and dirt at speed, this perhaps can give you ideas for how to muddy it up.
