The wrong Elefant - Tamiya 1/35 - Tank Model - Part 2 [ Painting - weathering - finishing ]

- I seem to have confused [Ferdinand] and [Elefant]. The Elefant, which is a refurbished version of the Ferdinand, has Twin Merit Coating installed as standard on all vehicles. I learned about this in the comments of the Part 1 video. However, since it was not possible to correct it due to the progress of the work, I have posted a video of [Elefant] without Twin Merit Coating. note that.

Where did you get the vegetation
I bought it from Amazon Japan. If you are overseas, if you search for Gypsophila Dried Flower Small (Green), will it come out?✋
I'm confused by the lumps on the surface, it's not how the texture should appear. The many deep scratches into the hardened armour plate is also not going to happen. If you think otherwise, tell me how. Some thought into why and how goes a long way.

deep scratches are possible such as scrapes by destroyed rubble and the little lumps could be from being shot by small arms

@@smc-2 actually i was wrong after i saw photos of tanks, most tanks have bumps all over the surface from casting which happened alot on ww2 and cold war vehicles

Why is it that nobody is putting zimmerit on the Elefants? That is one of the key difference between the Elefants and the Ferdinand.

The difference is the fact its got a hullgunner and actual periscopes for commander
Very nice work with the Chipping. How long do you let the Dark Yellow paint dry for before you start Chipping?
I usually start the chipping process within 30 minutes. I think my impatient personality also has a lot to do with it.🍔🍟🥤

What is actually melted acrylic you use to stabilise the sand on the tank ? Thank you
I used Tamiya's XF-86 Flat Clear to fix the sand on top of the tank. Thanks for your comment.😄

What a type of hair spray do you use ? 😅
Because your chipping looks so good and realistic good work
This is a cheap shop-brand hairspray (super hard) made by a discount shop, not by a manufacturer. After trying many, I find the spray that peels off the most and use it as my main. If the characteristics are known in advance, the work will naturally proceed smoothly and efficiently, and the results will be good. Chipping solvents for plastic models are expensive, but hairspray is very cheap. I don't think it's a waste to buy a few bottles and try them.👍

Ferdinand - no MG attach to MG cupola for self protection. Elefant - finally have MG Cupola for self protection against infantry. Too me both are the same chassis except when Elefant which widely use during Battle of Kursk. Due no protection, MG installed.

What did You use for vegetation camoflage?
I use dried Gyssum grass. It is commonly sold on Amazon etc.🍔🍔🍔

@@smc-2 Thank you for replying. I've just finished seeing the construction video. I've also checked walkaround photos of Elefant of Aberdeen Proving Ground(PrimePortal) and the armor plates dont have such a heavy texture nor small holes like that. In my humble opinion you pushed too far the armor texture and overall scratches.
@@ivoferin8176 Is that right? Unlike many other modelers who model based on actual photographs, my work pursues the ideal form in my world view that I imagine and delusion. To be honest, it doesn't make much sense for me to be told that it's different because I don't have similar photos. There is nothing strange about the fact that each person has their own way of enjoying scale models.👍

How long does it usualy take you to complete this masterpiece?
Including the editing time for the videos of Part 1 and Part 2, it takes about a month. I post videos on RUclips at the pace of making one tank a month. I think that it will be completed in about 20 days if you do not include the editing time of the video. However, I do not make only plastic models every day. I enjoy making plastic models as a hobby in my spare time from work.😄✋👍

Here's a challenge, try to do a scale model of one of the Armored railcars from the US Civil War, like the one Ironclad railcar with a Pennsylvania Locomotive and cars during the battle of Bull run, 13in seacoast mortar "Dictator", or that one Confederate railgun. If not, try for the Western & Atlantic's General with some Union Soldiers including James J. Andrews as the Great Locomotive Chase of 1862 is the first Medal of Honor started.

@@smc-2 No problem, Also, if you do decide on a Sherman, Jenney(Sherman) be a good one because of the battle of Castle Itter. The only battle the US Troops and the Wehrmacht stood side by side against the Waffen SS to save the French prisoners'. At least Sabaton's song The Last Battle commemorates that. I can share more if you like.
The scratches on the hull looks unrealistic, the overall weathering is exaggerated, the arrangement of the tracks was not so good, but the figures look cool
