      @@chrisgayler2733 Boy, ain't that the truth.
      I remember being on a bus and this teen boy I had never met before showed my the ankle monitor he had on, as if he was proud of it. I said be careful, you are almost old enough to go to real jail or prison if you get in trouble again. He said that he didn't. care, he already had friends in prison, so he wasn't scared.
      I tried to tell him that even if you are not scared, it is still not a nice place to be, but he got off the bus.
      Like, it's not just a matter of machismo. Why would you want to spend tome is a place that is more or less just like living in a parking lot, all concrete and steel, nothing pretty or nice. And no women, except for a few that wear uniforms and hold rifles. But those types won't listen. I had a similar conversation with a grown man, and it boiled down to "you're not scaring me." OK. Go ahead and move into a locked concrete box to show the world how tough you are.
      Why this is a form of toxic masculinity, I have met women who were a lot like that. One said, "I'm the woman who always picks fights with men." I wanted to say, "But why, though?" But we were not on the same page, She was saying it with pride, while to me, it sounded like a mental illness. So I walked away.

    Going to prison and choosing to be with a woman is fine, but choosing a relationship doesn’t sound like getting turned out. Getting turned out sounds like rape or manipulation at the least.

    • @tonybparalegal
      @tonybparalegal 3 года назад +139

      Exactly right.
      "Turned out" is having sex with someone after giving in to intimidation over time. It could be seen as rape in the sense that, since you are the victim of coercion or intentional infliction of emotional distress, you can no longer call it 'freewill'. It would satisfy the elements or rape in the legal sense if it could be proved that ppl did this to you for the sake of getting you to that point but not if you got to that point as an effect of the atmosphere and lifestyle of prison.
      This term is also used by pimps. But, having sex because you want to does not fall into this category

If Christina had got into the fight when she was young down here in Australia, She wouldn't of been sent to prison. Probably probation & community work. I was a CO and got along with everyone. Treat people with respect and conduct yourself with honor. The majority (99.9%) of inmates returned the conduct. Most of the time I was in a male institution .. I got sent to a female's institution for a short bit due to an assault taking place and the investigators were having an issue finding out what as the cause. I was sent there as people tended to open up to me as I was approachable. I was there less than 3 hours and found out it was a fight over another female inmate. People are people ... prison doesn't make them less human.. just restricted movement and having more restricted rules to follow. And there were more fights in the women prisons then in men.. you are right about the women being more emotional .. also tended to harm themselves more often.

It was always ridiculous to me that they had that little control over their urges and sexuality. I never had that want ever and never did I did my time n went home to my man. He waited for me faithfully the whole time writing me literally 47 page letters. I'd never betray him like that I don't know how anyone could do that. Also I don't know why you say you can't avoid the drama in prison cuz I found it easy i kept to myself got my GED, read a lot, wrote so many letters to my man and family, earned a TV and bought a radio for my cell and very rarely left my room cuz I was comfortable in my room and not going to rec kept the drama away from me. The hardest thing for me was being away from the love of my life. I fell for him instantly when I was 13 and finally got together a couple years later. Remind me to start transitioning from a dude to woman when convicted of a crime. Not saying women prison isn't tough but I have talked to guys that have been to prison and none of them would be this chirpy while talking about their experiences. Most of them got significantly emotional and broke down at some points looking back at their stints. Again, not criticizing just pointing out the difference. What Christina just described or her definition of being turned out in prison is having a mutual relationship with shared interests with a female inmate, no force involved. Christina, hate to inform you, but what you described is not being turned out in prison. Your headline should read having a relationship with another female in prison. Being turned out in a male prison means a man will be brutally and violently raped by a single man or group of men.

So 8-9 year old me was like omg you can go to jail because someone doesnt like you or for no reason at all 😂 obviously i grew up and realized that my cousin lied and was getting in all sorts of trouble but that weird fear would creep into my head and then id think about how awful it would be to be away from my husband😂 we began dating when i was 14, so I couldnt imagine a day without him. There's a quote that says something like, it's easier to train up a boy in the right way than to try and fix a broken man who has come up wrong.
      Also, one of the reasons for prison is to protect citizens from this stuff.

    Omg. I'm so glad theres a RUclipsr out here that I can relate to. I've been locked up b4. It ain't easy and I'm so glad you're out here putting your story out here. You know how the vibes are when it comes to being in trouble with the law. Everyone thinks you're a lost cause, but for some of us, being locked up changes people for the better and we are proof of that and I totally am grateful for you putting it out here!!! Love you girl!!
