This movie is how a Metal Gear movie should be done, also the shower scene that inspired a level of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was very cool, as always great review Jeremy, stay safe.
He might be one of the best cinematographers ever... and it translates to good directing when the (story, characters, performances, editing, etc) are on the same level. But they rarely are :(
Since we are talking about Nicolas Cage, you should do a review for the original gone in 60 seconds but make sure you watch the original soundtrack, look it up on RUclips.
He was exploring his craft during this time and making that money. It's when he met Christopher Nolan that he started to make new sound. He got inspired, watch the extras in Batman Begins and Dark Knight blu ray
he did not reuse, but it has similar chords, because it's coming from the same composer. Many Linkin Park songs, for example, have similar chords too, and sound very similar.

When new movies come back, I really really hope Jahns makes reviewing classic action movies a regular part of the show.
Me too, he used to do that back in the day, he reviewed Alien, Aliens, The Crow and From Dusk till Dawn to name a few, I miss him doing reviews of older movies. I'm glad that he & Chris Stuckmann have been doing that. I hope he reviews ID4 & the Blade films soon. :)
Jeremy: "I think I'll go for the John Wick look during quarantine"
Next is Con Air xD oh man everyone get ready for that rollercoaster ride lol
Hey Jeremy Jahns, I know it’s a bit of a departure from the kinds of movies you usually review here but could you do a review of When Harry Met Sally? It’s just such a good under-appreciated movie xD
I loved this movie back in the day, you can color me surprised when I was old enough to appreciate that this was directed by Michael Bay. My respect for the movie grew even more...not my respect for Bay, but more for the actors who were able to keep this being such a balanced and fantastic movie. Lesser actors with the dialog and chemistry may of came off as plane, hokey or just not good but the ones in this movie are fantastic. I even love the fantastically over the top characters like the black military guy and his knife, such a hilarious scene.
these 3 actors saved the movie from being horrible like most of Bay's movies.
This is one my favorite movies of all time! Ed Harris killed this role! My absolute favorite movie villan!
austen jones I don’t really know if call him a villain. Very misguided yes. Spoilers ahead
Remember he told the school trip to go home and in the end he couldn’t go through with firing the rockets on civilians which lead to his death when most soldiers turned against him.
@@bobdouglas9599 fair point. Antagonist is a more accurate term
General Hummel was the true hero of this film
Seriously one of my favorite movies ever
Ed Harris vs Michael Biehn works so well
That scene always gave me chills, the two are soooo good in that scene, very underrated actors and you gotta love that it's an "The Abyss" reunion. :)
@@TheBraunMachine2011 Michael Biehn is a very underrated actor in my opinion. Hes always a blast no matter what movie hes in.
The best kyle reese till this day is still michael biehn to be honest
Damn, Jeremy Jahns has turned into Keanu Reeves
Whoa...
“I am an FBI agent!”
@@Metaldjwill2 Well of coursh you are!
Jeremy Wick
@@eddieanderson9399 That nobody, is Jeremy Wick.
He was an associate of ours. We called him, Movieyaga.
The movie man?
Well Jeremy wasn't exactly the movie man. He was the one you sent to review the fucking movie man.
I once saw him review three movies in a bar, with a pencil. With a fucking pencil.
I love what you're doing. I dunno if you've always done older movies since the start of your channel, but ive noticed thst the old movie reviews happened a lot since quarantine started. Anyways, its nice to get the 80s 90s growing up feels when you do these! Thanks brah
Thank you Jeremy for reviewing this movie!! Glad you are returning to the past to review these classics again!!
"Uh - Let's talk music. Do you like the Elton John song, "Rocket Man"?"
Aron Scott
“Oh, I see, well I’m only asking because...it’s you. You’re the rocket man.”
“Flips switch and ducks.*
LOL, man, I was waiting the whole review for Jeremy to bring up that scene lol, he quoted it in another review video, I can't remember which one it was. But that scene's always been one of my favorites. Tony Todd is such an underrated & awesome actor. :)
How do you like how that shit works!!?? Lol
Come here!!! Come here you little chicken shit!! Don't be scared I won't hurt you!!! Come on let's play!!!!
Damn you. Now I wanna watch The Rock again.
"I love these moments in you, man." - Jeremy Jahns to The Rock, June 3rd, 2020.

Interestingly enough that original box art of metal gear is lifted straight from a shot of The Terminator of Kyle Reese
Constantly watched this as a kid. It was my dads favorite movie
*Obligatory Jeremy’s hair comment*
"You want me to stick this into my heart?!" Love it!!
Just watched this for the first time and I had a blast. Not quite Equilibrium or Terminator 2 but definitely one of the best action movies I've ever seen. Great script great cast and Bay in his element. 9.5/10
Would you review "Train to Busan"? It is one of my favourites and one of the best zombie movies ever! I think you would really like it!
Love the video!
I've been debating watching it.
I have seen this movie sooo many times. I want to see it again lol
Glad you started to include videosequences from movies into your reviews. Waited for years for you to start doing that.)
"i'd take pleasure in gutting you...boy" love when Nic says that
This must be in my Top 10 Most Watched Films Of All Time. I absolutely adore this movie. If it wasn't approaching 12:30am where I am, I would watch it again right now! 🙂
It's only going on 9.30pm by me, will watch it for you lol
General Hummel:
"It's over SEALS, I have the high ground."
I am freaking flabbergasted that you didn’t mention Hans Zimmers score! This movie set up the tone of all of Zimmers music of the 2000’s. You can hear sections of Pirates of the Caribbean and The Dark Knight Saga in some of the lead-ins. Aside from that, great review. Totally agree it’s Bay’s best movie.
This movie is how a Metal Gear movie should be done, also the shower scene that inspired a level of
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was very cool, as always great review Jeremy, stay safe.
This used to be my favourite movie as a child, back when I thaught Michael Bay was like the best director ever
Same!
then, like getting older for a lot of people, it was all downhill from there lol
He might be one of the best cinematographers ever... and it translates to good directing when the (story, characters, performances, editing, etc) are on the same level. But they rarely are :(
Don't worry, we've all been there
This Dwayne Johnson’s biography is pretty intense
lol
😏
☺
The Rock’s Michael Bay had Don Simpson behind him. That’s the difference.
Isn't it Jerry bruckheimer
Super High Doug Judy both
"How, in the name of Zeus's BUTTHOLE, did you get out of your cell?!?"
Best line in the movie.
Jeremy actually played with his hair, shows he pays attention to the comments 😄
He has said that he can not get his hair cut
Since we are talking about Nicolas Cage, you should do a review for the original gone in 60 seconds but make sure you watch the original soundtrack, look it up on RUclips.
"A Senior citizen and a lab rat" 😂😂😂😂
@@aronscott8284 He sure did 😂😂😂😂😂😂
One of your best. I like when you review an older film because you somehow are able to add short clips into the video, specifically on yt.
Is it me or did Hans Zimmer reuse some of the music from this movie for Gladiator?
I wouldn't be surprised. He was working on several scores at the time.
He was exploring his craft during this time and making that money. It's when he met Christopher Nolan that he started to make new sound. He got inspired, watch the extras in Batman Begins and Dark Knight blu ray
Micheal Bay movie? Can you review Bad Boys 1 and 2?
The soundtrack for this movie u can kinda of hear bits and pieces of it in other movie scores of his
he did not reuse, but it has similar chords, because it's coming from the same composer. Many Linkin Park songs, for example, have similar chords too, and sound very similar.
Favorite line: "I take pleasure in gutting you boy"
I take pleasure in gutting you.... Boy!
And favourite quote "Your best?! Losers always whine about their best. Winners go home and fuck the prom queen!"
Me and my friends still quote it when we can and even telled Quinton Flynn it at a comic con it lol.
"What's wrong with these people!?"
I take pleasure in gutting you.... BOY
What is wrong with these people?
Dave Longden
Actually, best follow up line to that awesome Sean Connery line,
“Carla was the prom queen.”
Really?”
*cocks gun”
“Really.”
One Saturday we queued up for Independance day but all the tickets were sold out. Then saw a card board stand for The Rock on the other side of the room from ticket booth thinking it was some kind of western. Dissapointed we couldn't see ID (before multiplexs) we thought we would give The Rock a try. Came out thinking I had seen one of the best films ever, mind blown away, it was a complete shock. Next day queued up at another cinema for ID, got in and came out thinking The Rock was so much better. All the hype in the country was for ID with mass advertising campaign, The Rock had none of that, a complete surprise and a joy to watch such a great film with no expectations. Still one of my favourite films ever.
One of my favorite movies of all time, I have fond memories watching this on iTunes on my iPod touch (yes I’m old)
