    Excellent video! Thanks for putting it out there!
    Quick story;
    I left town on the 12th and returned on the 15th, and to my surprise, I received 2.2 OTA! Charged to 85% before leaving, but I 'forgot' to plug in the newly installed trickle tickler. Key points;
    1. 12v battery did run down to 65%, however the vehicle started no prob.
    2. Lost 5% (drained to 80% SOC) thru vampire drain (left my dashcam plugged in accidentally 🤦🏿‍♂️
    3. Didn't hear any new fangled unlock/lock sounds or see any new graphics on the solar charge screen.
    4. I never received a V2L adapter upon delivery of my FOO. I ended up puchasing a new one on ebay for a reasonable price. I'll test that out later.
    5. I'm able to see the release notes for 2.2.
    Bottom line, I think they may push this in multiple updates. Or they scrapped some of the features you showcased in your video.

      @@19Z5M Sounds like you need the final part of the update. If you go to the settings and then software page, click on the software version 2.2. It should show you the ICC version - sounds like you need that update. It should be 1.1.49. When you get that, you will see a bunch of more stuff. Sounds like your 12V battery is in good condition. Matt,
    This is very helpful and thorough for people that don't have 2.1 update yet. I am particularly glad to see the V2L demo. I saw that piece of accessary but never dare to use it. I guess that I just have to sit tight and wait for my turn of the 2.2 update. I got the 12V 3Amp battery charger and OBD II adaptor ready. The battery tender shows the SoC is > 50%. Hopefully that's enough.

    Can you provide insight into how long the update lasted and how much energy is actually required? I've seen many amateur comments on FB about a minimum necessary charge on the main battery if not using a 12v battery tender. I've seen everything from 40% to 80% (which would be insane if the update is using that much energy). I would estimate 300 watts of energy being used (to run all the computers) during the update. At that rate, it's using 0.3 kWh of energy each hour, or less than 0.3% of the main battery capacity every hour (assuming the main battery is charging the 12v battery).
    Also, what connectivity is necessary? I've heard WiFi is required, which is going to be a problem for me where I currently have to park on the street.
    I would like to NOT have to buy and install a 12v battery tender. I think that's a ridiculous and unfair expectation for an automobile software upgrade.

    • @MTNRanger
      @MTNRanger  4 месяца назад

      @@cjzito My update occurred in one session and lasted about an hour. But I have heard others that had two or three downloads and installations before it was done. Some has the final part a day after the first.
      My car didn’t lose any HV battery pack charge since I was connected to a 20A battery tender. It is suggested to keep the car at 80% or more SOC. I don’t have an actual amount of energy the update used. I can see if I can get more info.
      If your 12V is in good condition, you probably don’t need a tender. If you don’t get 12V battery warnings or experience issues you should be fine. At this point, owners have to take responsibility since the company is basically gone. They are going to have to do solve problems that are normally done by the manufacturer.
      Good signal for either WiFi or 4G is needed.

    • @MTNRanger
      @MTNRanger  4 месяца назад

      @@petertierney994 I feel the use of a battery tender is fairly controversial but I am going to suggest using one. If you do use one, I suggest keeping it connected when the car is not driven to insure the 12V is always near capacity. I do that anyway to reduce phantom losses as it is. It just happens to be that I am testing the high amp battery charger this week. I feel if you already have a 4-5 A battery tender, it should work fine.

      @MTNRanger  4 месяца назад

      @@petertierney994 Yes, if your 12V stays above 12.5V, you should be fine. Yes, I don't feel the tender affects the update. There is some thought that if the update occurs and the 12V battery is say at 50% and your tender has not charged it up, the system may think the high voltage of the tender is really the battery. This may cause a problem in that the tender (3-5 amp version) can't keep up with the demands of the update and will kill the battery. I don't think this is a likely scenario. When I have the tender connected, the 12V battery percentage is usually between 80-100%.

      Yes, the release notes showing 1.1 is a bug that all 2.2 versions show. The larger driver screen icon text should be a part of 2.1. Capacity is limited by the connector which is a NEMA 5-15 which allows up to 120 volts at 12 amps. Which translates to 1440 watts. It’s connected to the high voltage battery pack. It’s on a separate circuit than what charges the 12V battery. Both are small compared to what the regen and drive motors are capable of using. Ok, does this mean that the V2L will shut off when car powers down if you dont keep hitting brake? It does this when i use the AC while parked on the side of the road working on my laptop…

    If I cant get internet services even though it shows full signal on mobile 4G bar - then what to do? It will also not recognise Wi-Fi networks even after I added my home SSIDs on 2.4GHz or hotspot from my mobile phone. Is this the time where we need to unplug the fuses for the T-box reset or do you think a new SW update (not OTA) to 2.2 will make it work?

      Whatever you do, do NOT unlock your car while the car is updating. Keep it locked when not in use. If it is updating, the tail lights and headlights will turn on and the dash will light up. Do not interrupt until it is done - 30 minutes after completion.

    Since your battery was on the tender and it dropped to 12.62 which, from what I read, is NOT a good thing for the Fisker, that makes a clear case that the car needs to be on a tender, not that anyone is expecting any OTA beyond 2.2. And for any download to take this long is EXTREMELY bad. No download for anything should take this long, unacceptable. No wonder batteries are being drained during an OTA. I don't even keep the doom lights on my ICE cars on for that long. That long a download is very unacceptable and with a clear drain from your over 14v to 12.6 which would have been MUCH more significant if you did not have the tender that is a clear potential for an significant issue.
