Check out the Tonka Truck Restoration of this 1967 Jeep Wagoneer! This treasure was a little rough to start with, but a perfect restoration has it looking good as new!
The Tonka Jeep Wagoneer was the workhorse of the 9 1/2 inch "Mini-Tonka" line. First introduced in 1967, it saw life outfitted as a Hi-Way Patrol vehicle, Fire Chief, Rescue Ambulance, and as a plain old grocery getter. In addition to it many professions, it could be seen in an array of amazing colors, including this gorgeous Tiffany Blue!

Nice work! My friend just purchased a Fire Chief and will enjoy seeing you restore this Jeep. He payed $85.00 and it too needs restoration, but he like's the original condition. Good Job!
The Wagoneers were one of my favorite Tonka vehicles. Awesome job!
Great Job @TRG RESTORATION
Nice color 👍
Really great restoration!
Might want to try mother's aluminium mag wheel polish for your clear plastic it works great on headlights takes the finer scratches out
I agree. Not sure how I found you but I'm hooked. Despite the negative comments I'm so glad you push on and share these videos. You do great work and many of us appreciate it. I get a new idea with every video. This one was definitely a favorite. Keep up the good work bro. 👍👊
67 Wagoneer was a great model, perfect for offroad
Very nice Jeepster!
I love simple Tonka trucks like these. As well as these videos, they're so satisfying!
Thanks!
@@TRGRESTORATIONSfavorite tonka trucks are the construction ones 🎉
Great job. Looks really good. Take care, stay safe, Happy Holidays. ☺♥😺♥🎄
Turned out great👍👍❤️
I had a bunch of the Jeep Tonka trucks when I was little so this restoration is a plus in my book
+hutchcraftcp thanks! 😎
Perfect! I have one this in Brazil.
Yaaaaay good job
Looks great well done.
Thank you! Cheers!
My dad worked for Caterpillar for 35 yrs so the only Tonka toys I ever got were construction vehicles. I thought that's all they made 🤣 awesome redo!
You keep making these videos and Ill keep watching! Well Done!
+Tony Furiato Deal!!
Very well done 👍
+TysyTube Restoration thank you! 😎
@@TRGRESTORATIONSmore please 🎉
Great work, I would like them better without the Tonka logo decal put back on, though
Great job again
+Kisslover 1973-2019 thanks! 😎
Wow that is absolutely gorgeous!!!
+Jamie Q thank you! 😎 my daughter thought so too, and stole it! It is now parked in the Barbie garage...
@@TRGRESTORATIONS I don't blame her! Your skills were really good but the more videos I watch the better they get! 😁🤩
Awwwwww! That’s a cute little wee one 😍💕
Thanks!
Amazing restoration, beautiful job.
+Donald Swink thanks! 😎
+Donald Swink thanks! 😎
👌👍 Nice job!
Una verdadera JOYA!
got one of these from my uncle, missing the tailgate though
Two things amaze me. First, how straight-forward it is to take these toys apart. You just have to have the courage to start with the first screw or rivet. And second, that it's possible to restore the "glass" (the plastic windshield and windows). You started working on it, and I thought, "no way in hell is he going to make that crappy plastic clean again, it's just not - hey, look at that!"
Well done Thump UP!
+Herr Deutschmann Danke 😎
THIS IS A NICE CAR! I LIKED IT! 👍
+Ramiz Nagiyev Thanks! 😎
@@TRGRESTORATIONS, IS THIS YOU MASTER? 😊
Good contribution and good video of restoration companion you have been very well and functional greetings
+Prepper Survival thanks! 😎
Congratulations! I have one this too.
+José Antonio Rossetto thanks! 😎
Hi TRG👋👋👋very good restoration Jeep 🚙 👍👍👍
+Кошмар Кошмар thanks! 😎
It turned out to be a fantastic car! The color is slighty different but the comparison color is old.
Question, why don't you use a base primer? A base primer, if well sanded, can greatly improve the quality of the top coat.
He does use a primer on some of his other projects. I think a lot of his work was a learning process.
Only just found your channel.
10 seconds in and I am your newest subscriber.
Excellent work.
+R W thanks! Please tell 500,000 of your closest friends 🤣😎
awesome 😎👍
Thanks for watching!
I think I got one of these for Christmas in 67!
There was tv show back then called daktari ,they had a wagoneer in zebra stripes
Awesome rig bro, very cool. I'm wondering what it would be like to mod one of those? Like a monster truck kinda thing
Very nice. I almost want to put some US Forest service deals on the doors, but I think their trucks had a little more green in the paint. Good job.
+scottgm321 thanks! 😎
❤sweet
Man, the roughness of the sandblaster really transferred to the paint surface. Is there high build primer in powdercoating? It would have been nice to replicate the smooth finish of the original paint.
Top 🇧🇷
what wattage is that UV blacklight?
I used lye to remove the paint on the last two projects. It saved a lot of sand blasting time. A little bit more care is required when you work with it, but it’s worth the saving in time. Very nice work on this project. I was wondering what size this particular model was. What media or are you using for your sand blasting? Or use aluminum oxide.
+It's Not a Restoration I’m using 80-grit glass beads
I don't know how I got here but I'm staying.
+Adriane lol thanks! 😎
Nice job, but I'm disappointed that the new paint job didn't match the original better. That vibrant shade of turquoise was quite iconic for the times. Seeing it disappear under the lighter, more modern version was sad.
Agreed 🎉
Do you think liquid floor was would help the plastic windows.
I still have my yellow one, with the trailer and snowmobile
I wish I could do my real Wagoneer like this 😂😂😂.
Je suis fou du Wagoneer ! Like the Mr White wife in breakinf Bad... Wow !
Thanks for watching! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Gliberto
I have this 67 wagoner in this color and White,Red,Blue,Yellow,Orange,Green,Black and Pink yes Pink all are in great original condition and 5 of them have original boxes.
Nice! Sounds like a really nice collection!
@@TRGRESTORATIONS I retired after 20yrs. in the military and 30yrs. as a unionized master pipefitter. But I been collecting pre 1970 tonkas since my first one a 1955 Thunderbird tractor trailer M.I.B. that I recieved for Xmas that year. My home cellar and garage are filled with almost 60yrs. of collecting Tonkas Smith-Miller Buddy L Nylint and All-American vehicles. My garage has 4 bays and I have to keep my Harley at my brothers place, unfortunately no room for it here. You do excellant work I like that pride in craftsmanship it shows.
Any chance you could do a restoration of all the Mini Tonka line? That would be awesome!
+Clyde Balcom not sure if I’d make it through the whole collection, I’ll definitely try to knock them off one at a time though 😎
Maybe you need to use less air pressure in the powder coat machine! good work!
Thanks for watching!
You went through all that work and then put the Tonka decal on crooked?
Trying to do one myself and can’t figure out how to get the top off without cracking the windshield
Looks good, I think it would look good if the roof was done in white too.
Thanks for watching!
Where did you get the powder coating from?
+Gordon Kochan the gun and the over are from amazon and the paint came from ThePowderCoatStore.com
Only Neider push Thump down here!
Try this: Meguiar's PlastX. It is a plastic polish that I use to clean the headlight lenses on my car. It can be found at any WalMart.
Thanks for watching!
I'm a recent subscriber Tim and catching up on your previous restoration projects. Good job on restoration, but I have a question. What if you had a broken axle holder on a project? Do you have to hope to find a new plastic replacement or can you fabricate the broken area? I really enjoy your videos. I hope you and yours stay safe during this quarantine period and hello from Tennessee.👍🍻👍😷
Depending on what you had available to you, you could cut a new one out of plastic and then superglue it in place of the old missing one.
I have this same exact one that I’m trying to restore. I can’t find a tailgate for it and one wheel is broken.
I was restoring a tonka pickup stepside, and the axles and wheels were the exact same. But mine wouldn't go back together all the way and become the right wheel base. Long story short, I used a rubber mallet, and the axle pushed through the other side. Should I have reamed the hole to clean it better to prevent that, or am I just a moron?😅and
Where do you find hard to find clear yellow windshields
I want to know to
Nice job. I think a little more detail work on the inside would of add a lot.
+Bill Schipper thanks😎

+Frass Suliman 😎
Well done! The 1970's Jeep after CHRYSLER bought AMC like this model as well. What scale size is this Jeep?
1:64 scale I believe.
Thank you. My apologies I made an error I thought this was a 1970's Jeep Wagoneer but a 1967 Jeep Wagoneer long before Chrysler took & bought AMC MOTORS. Tonka did well on this model. 🙂
@@TRGRESTORATIONS Not 1:64 scale for sure. 1:64 is the most common Matchbox scale.
I have a dump truck. Can you restore for me.
O.111
Maybe a little less time on the blasting to balance out your video. Good job of restoration.
+yana1955 thanks 😎
Also include the sound (audio) ...Just fast-foward most of the blasting. Yes, great job.
Well some of us prefer watching all of it coz it’s soothing! Cheers tho I get why some people don’t like it much
The blasting is the best part.....
I enjoy watching the blasting
Looks like you chipped the passenger side rear wheel...oops
Thanks for watching
American made trump would like that 🇺🇸 👍
+Diamond painting king lol ya never know. If I ever meet him I’ll have him take a look at it.
Who gives a rat's ass what that orange buffoon would like?
