1960's Hubley School Bus Restoration! This Ebay find was pretty rough when I first started, most of the paint had chipped away, the decals were long gone, plenty of rust to deal with, and it had obviously been stomped on at some point which caused it to sit awkwardly to the side. A little sandblasting, some new powder coat paint, reworking of the wheels and axels, a lot of elbow grease, and this restoration is as good as new!

Really nice cleanup on this old bus. So simple, no seats, no glass, just good clean fun.
Very nice rebuild, well done! I rode this type of bus to School every day. Thanks for the memories...
You're lucky! I had to walk uphill both ways to school! lol
I like the new deTRGent sticker you used on the cleaning soap. That’s an amazing restoration. Love your work.
Thanks! I figured I'd quit giving companies free advertising lol.
Had one as a kid. Looked just the same, rusty and beat up. Nice to see it new. Great job. Also love the scrap bins in the background with all the other projects. :)
Great job, nice and clean powder coating
I think the wheels look much nicer than the original wheels it came out with.
Thanks!
I have a Hubley school bus also, and love it so much!
You make it look soooo easy!
Wow, what a transformation. Really Beautiful!
Мне 30 лет и каждый раз смотрю с удовольствием,,👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
another delightful restoration. The paintwork is first class, I thought the chrome effect grill as a extra nice touch. I find it incredible how much I love these basic models, the detailing is brilliant. Thank you for another enjoyable video. Initially, I was worried that your work would be drying out but having sneaked at the toys in the background when putting the panels into the oven, there's no need to worry yet, hey?!
Rode one of those many a year! Awesome job! Loved it!
Lucky! I had to walk uphill in the snow both ways!
Nice job on the paint too!!
Thanks!
I'm so happy that I found your channel. I've had a lot of fun watching!
Hey, have you ever experimented with using soapy water to aid in applying non-water-slide stickers? I've had great luck with 95% water, 5% dish soap. Spraying a light coat allows me to move stickers around for a little while to line them up. The biggest one I ever did was a vinyl matte black-out decal on the back of my car that was about 30" x 10".
Beautiful work! 10/10!
I would like to see a transit bus restoration or a Highway Coach bus restoration someday
The chrome front bumper looks Sharp!!
Thanks!
Excelente trabalho. Chic demais
Great Job @TRG RESTORATION
Beautiful job! Congratulations!
Always perfect! Thanks, Tim.
Thanks again!
Отличное восстановление автобуса) круто. Печь установите по хорошему, а то качается.
Спасибо за просмотр
Согласен, нужно соблюдать технику безопасности.
You gave this bus a new life 👏👏👏
Nicely done, sir. Liked the paint work.
Thanks!
What an iconic toy. Hope it is making a kid or kid at heart very happy....again. I love watching your restorations.
beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the quality of your E-coat is really good!! I don't know what your doing different, but your are smoother and much shinier than some of the others!!
Thanks! Don't think there's much difference in the technique, the company I get my powders from is really high quality though.
I love all your video's I forget to push the like button I think you are a very good restoration person you do a fantastic job on all you do have a wonderful day
What a superb finish to a toy that could have well found its way into a trash bin. Just love it and it and all those folk that revive and keep the toy history alive.
Thanks!
What a cool looking school bus ...let's go to school in it
Thanks!
you always do just a great job.
Thanks!
Very nice looking. Never heard of the company, You did it right!!
Thanks!
That's an awesome restoration! I have also never seen a Hubley school bus with those style wheels before
I love this bus, I want one for my collection.
Very sharp looking. Great job! ♥😺♥
Nice Bus Great restore
Excellent job! Those big toys where a kids dream. Sadly not anymore
Don't make them like they used to!
I had one of these, met it's end under the wheels of my dad's car!
Yours is the second one I've seen restored, the other one the restorer did up as the bus from the Partridge Family.
Cool!
I had one around 1967 . Not sure if it was a Hubley It came with cardboard children
I see the final result abs I hear Scorpio coaxing the kids to sing ‘Row, row, row your boat…”, while Harry Callaghan is in pursuit for the final showdown…
Top job! That turned out very well. The quality of the steel is better than usual.
If you ever do another one of these with the body posts and peened axle ends, watch pretty much any video from Marty's Matchbox Makeovers. This bus is pretty much the same design as a hot wheels / matchbox, but scaled up. I'm sure his methods for remounting the body and chasis or reusing the axles would work.
He knows. This guy is a professional, Marty is a competent amateur
Kinda seems like my way worked...
Marty is good at opening “fan mail” this guy is professional!! Good work! Congrats!
@@nandom3
Now hang on, I like the fact Marty shares his fan mail. Also, I enjoy watching his rebuilds. I've been rebuilding toys for 20-y
Papa Tom good for you.... I enjoy watching the restorations ...not fan mail, then should be called ´fan mail unpacking ´ not restoration.... but all good enjoy!
Good job, as always!
Thanks!
Just like a new one. Love your work man.
Thanks!
I don't think they were done this well when new.
Beautiful work!!!! brand new School Bus!!!!
Thanks!
I would like it, one day to put the complete collection , or some models together.
Oh man!! I think I still have this very same bus! It was my all time favorite toy! Loved it! Thanks for the video!!
Sandblasting plus powdercoating equals 😀😀😀😀
Thanks!
I liked it a lot! Good job.
I always wanted to see a School bus Restoration even Diecast model
You do fine work sir
Like the "super chrome"!!! I never knew that existed
It's fairly new from Prismatic Powders. The end result is pretty great, and if you're careful you can buff it just a bit and bring out a cleaner shine.
Another little jewel 👍☺
Excellent Resto!
Awesome work 😎
Very nice restoration. The bus looks beautiful.
Thanks!
Wow what a transformation that should last for years now with the powder coating. Handy device that sand blasting booth very fascinating to watch excellent work! 👍🚍

Thanks!
Thomas Barnard, too funny. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
i wish I could find one like that to do a replica of my real "62 bus.
What a beautiful restoration.
As a collector of model buses( please don't laugh) this one is really sweet.
Attention to detail with the writing and the signage is the icing on the cake.
Fantastic
Never be ashamed of a hobby. In this uncertain and often unpleasant world, we all need some time out and hobbies to fill it. Enjoy your model buses. (love Bedford OBs!)
Hey TRG, Noah here from Texas. WOW that bus looks great!!!!! The wheels, I would not have ever thought of that. They look better than new! Great job!!
Hi TRG 👋👋👋 very good restoration School Bus 🚌 👍👍👍👌🏽

Those cap nuts make nice hubcaps...
Thanks!
lol too much water to go in with a rotary tool =D awesome result 😎👍
If you're not making a mess, you're not doing it right! lol
@@TRGRESTORATIONS surely was fun lol
I kinda chuckled at the beginning. The bus looked like a low rider or the rear suspension was worn out lol!
The sandblasting scene was a bit excessive, but hey, it just goes to show you how long it takes to get a nice sandblasted finish for primer/paint.
Overall, a nicely done restoration. It looks like it could have a plastic interior piece that includes the seats and driver instrumentation, almost like a Tonka vehicle.
The Super Chrome looks fantastic!
Agree. Restoration videos need to have a sense of balance.
Yeah it was a bit more than normal. A ton of people had been asking for real time sandblasting, so this was a great one to show that on. some times I gotta go against conventional wisdom and give the people what they want.
Now I want to see someone turn a bus into a low rider.
I wish I saved every rusty tonka toy I ever threw out. One clean out I remember (1940's to 1970's stuff) had enough of these things to keep you busy for a decade.
It’s great!!!
Thanks!
LOVE those kids cheering the media blaster! That's how I feel as well.
Why did you cut the axles in half instead of grinding the ends down and sliding the wheels off?
Professional job
I wanted to upgrade the axles in order to use the axle caps as "hubcaps"
@@TRGRESTORATIONS
I liked the end caps and new axles, it gave safety to the next child to play with the bus and hub cap looks.
Nice! I like it.
Do you sell them after restoring them?
It looks brand new,👍
Thank you!
Sehr sehr geil 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Excellent!!
Thank you!
Way to KOOOLLLL, Skoool bus
