The first time was in 1994, after the Quad shooting. The second time was in 1996, after Pac was shot in Las Vegas. No one was keeping Garland from seeing Pac during that two year gap, which he claims was the case when Pac was a child.

    Great and interesting interview with 2Pac's father Billy Garland. The song Dear Mama was written in 1994 and prior to 2Pac seeing Billy physically for the first time in many years. 2Pac was referring to Legz in the Dear Mama song. Yet, 2Pac told (what he thought) was his truth at the time. He obviously was misled. He thought his father was dead, when he was really alive.

    This kid in my crew (construction) was having issues with his dad. I told him there’s two sides to every story, I don’t think your mom told you the truth. You need to talk to your dad. He did, and found out the truth, and came back to work, and thanked me! He also told me his dad wanted to buy me a drink! It’s really sad that that happens but, it does.

    2pac's father is a great man, I'm glad he finally open up and let the world know his truth that is actually real truth, i remember how i used to think that 2pac's father didnt really care about Pac, thought he was cold and all, but now that i see these interviews, i realized that i was wrong, great person!     What people don’t understand is this man had other kids who he was obviously taking care of. You think he can just up and leave to go look for Pac? No. Does it suck that it played out like that yes. But it’s not his fault PAC’s mom up and left and was hopping around the country.     This is why it puzzles me when people say Pac was acting or trying to be something he wasn’t. Because if you listen to the man he’s legit telling his truth, even the flaws. He indeed said he was caught up in the life he was living, he got off track a bit, he was very aware that he was taking missteps.     The “Dear Mama” reference isn’t about Billy but Afeni’s boyfriend ,when Pac was a kid, named Legs. He was a hustler who moved to Baltimore from NY with Afeni and her kids. Legs died when Pac was a kid. Pac for years that he was his bio dad.

    I had an ex who said that our baby wasn't mine after we broke up and that she didn't want any child support because that would mean I had parental rights. In fact, later on she said she was married and that the child was adopted by her husband. I didn't know what to believe. 15 - 20 yrs later she conveniently tried sending me to court for back child support after her husband divorced her. The judge threw out the case...
