I determined to myself I’d get myself a shiny feebas in my Ruby game, it took me 2 days of fishing every tile 3-4 times to ensure I didn’t miss one to find a Feebas tile. I fished that Feebas tile for 2 weeks and got a shiny Carvahna. I gave up that run for a while.
I really wish someone could've saved you by saying that YOU CAN and should USE THE OLD ROD FOR FEEBAS. Higher chance to land Feebas because Carvanha doesn't appear with the old rod, and no annoying mini game.

Guys, use the OLD ROD and a Pokémon between level 11 and 20! You'll get only low-level non-Feebas encounters (based on the Rod) and can already see if it's Feebas based on the battle transition (which is based on the 1st Pokémon in the party).
I still will never forget when I went to search for feebas in ruby and started on the first tile beneath the waterfall and instantly encountered it. I was sitting back ready to spend hours. Literally laughed out loud for a minute.

something you didn't even mention about how awful evolving Feebas into Milotic is - the pokemon's nature slightly affects how well a pokeblock works for it. When I was a kid, I remember getting fairly lucky with finding a Feebas tile and then stupidly catching only one... just to find it had a bad nature. Ive caught feebas in emerald twice on two separate playthroughs. The trick is, old rod, same the spot five times before moving into the next tile, and repeat. Start at the top of the waterfall and head down. Leading with a suction cups pokemon or sticky hold works.
this is such a fun video lol, definitely reminds me of childhood trying desperately to catch a feebas so I could get that beautiful milotic. Such a chuckster EDIT: I never got a milotic
Underrated vid right here 🤣🤣 i found feebas by luck ( but un intentionally hitting every tile not knowing)!! It was crazy difficult. Knowing the tile information would have prevented alot of days where i was just in the same spot 🤦♂️
The data available on the way the tile information is calculated is extremely interesting and makes everything go by super quick! would have loved to have that as a kid
The only pro about your internal battery being dry is that the Feebas spots will never change. I remember having to hoarde every single berry I got in a new file just so I would hopefully have enough to change the Feebas I caught into Milotic. Had just enough to accomplish it
I completely feel you on this one! I'm actually starting a fresh file in emerald and I plan on doing this already to myself. I am already aware of the challenges that's going to happen. However I've always wanted to do it because the first time I had a milotic was in Gen 5 when you can do the trade method. You are 100% right there's not really many NPCs to help you along with the challenge. Only guide books at the time. The internet was a different playground back then information wasn't readily at your fingertips.
I finally tried catching feebas at my most recent playthrough of emerald. I'm so lucky that i got a feebas tile at the 6th tile so i caught like 15 of em
yoo underrated content right here it's even worse in dppt, as far as i know the feebas tiles just respawn every single day, so it doesn't even have a fixed place you can return to. it does have less tiles but finding it was such a nightmare xD
A beautiful study of what onset madness looks like lol. Makes me realize how dangerous that route's river really is, what with all the Carvanha swimming around >
I remember I was doing a replay of Emerald a few years back. I decided to finally find the Feebas tile after years of knowing about it but never finding it. Finally after locating it, I decided to farm for the best nature Feebas and shockingly 20 Feebas in I caught a shiny.
I can feel all OG players pain back then. Even today when the sticky hold + six tiles + trendy phrase connection has been figured out, it's still a pain in the neck when you have to fish on every 400+ tiles in the 119 river and do it all over again when you miss all the six spots
Started a play through of Ruby the other day, and last night I got to the Feebas route. I wanted one and figured I may as well start the finding process now, and prepared myself for a grueling ordeal. The fifth tile I checked had a Feebas, I’ve never felt so relieved
I had an easy time of it. My copy of Sapphire came with a strategy guide, which gave me a trendy phrase to give to the guy at Dewford Town and mapped out which tiles corresponded to that phrase.
You know, I actually caught a Feebas relatively easily as a kid. I knew nothing of how insane the requirements were to find it until about 12 years after the fact. I honestly had no clue it was even that big of a deal to find, I just thought it was your average encounter that could show up on any tile. I must have gotten very lucky. Then I never got Milotic because I maxed out its sheen just barely shy of full beauty. I was very upset. I never actually bothered to go back to try catching another for some reason. But anyway, fun video. Just found your channel, and I'm definitely going to check out more of your stuff.
Back when I was a kid playing Emerald, I fished up Feebas on accident. Then I went back to show my friends the next day and never found another one again
I had no idea there was such an arduous process to catch a feebas, and didn't find out until years later when I saw so many videos, guides, and memes detailing just how obnoxious it is. I then realized how amazingly lucky I was to have a Milotic that had beaten the master rank Pokemon contest and to this day can't figure out how I caught a feebas all by accident and didn't even give it a second thought. 😅
This Is my new favourite yt video ever. My first Pokemon game was Red Fire, after played Green Leaf also, both in italian, my language. And then i played Sapphire, an english version in which I understood half of the words. I hated that game, so different and so similar to Red Fire that i loved. The third gen Always find me so cold, the second gen is too much perfect. But now i want restart a game on It, because my first save is lost, and try to catch for the first time feebes.
I remember getting one as a kid when Emerald came out. I guess I was super lucky because I had the Emerald paperback guide that it was in. I caught an entire box full of Feebas so I could trade to my friends.
When I played Ruby (+ 12 years ago), I fished for Feebas obsessively. It took me hours but in the end I managed to find it. I even caught a few additional Feebas just in case. And after some days of farming berries and making pokeblocks, I did it! I got my own Milotic! It was such a triumphant moment. I felt amazing! But just having a beautiful pokemon wasn't enough. I had to show the whole region of Hoenn this majestic creature so I went on to conquer the beauty contest with it. No pokemon stood a chance and the audience was mesmerized. To top it all off, it even got its own masterpiece of a painting in the museum. Now nobody was ever going to forget the rainbow pokemon. Milotic! It is definitely one of the most frustrating but, strangely, fun experiences I've had in this series.
I almost feel bad because I've done it twice. The first time was on my original save when I was in high school. The second time was last week on my third playthrough. The Elite Four was kicking my ass, so for the hell of it, I decided to look for Feebas while training a Machop. I found the spot on a tile just below the first bridge. I never in a million years thought I would catch and evolve a second Feebas. I EV trained it, used it at the Battle Tower and finally got that 100-win streak.
My older brother somehow caught two feebas in a single session of playing emerald, and told me that they were just super common like Magikarp. Until about ten years later, I thought that it was super easy to acquire because of that. Needless to say, when I couldn’t find one and looked up how to catch them, I was pissed
So. Funny story. I'm currently doing an Emerald nuzlocke, and I went for my Feebas encounter a couple days ago. I was guaranteed to be able to get it as a legal encounter since with the old rod, Magikarp and Tentacool were the only other ones I could fish up, and I already had them and use dupes clause, so as long as I was patient enough, I would get it, but I fully expected to be there a long-ass time. It spawned in the 3rd tile that I checked and the hunt was over in like 2 minutes. Then I saw this video pop in my feed and couldn't help but find your misery in light of my luck pretty amusing.
I did this back in the day, and man the experience was about the same, maybe faster. I remember you were supposed to use the old rod, though. On the plus side one of the most fun things I ever did was breed a gyarados with a salamence to get a bagon with hydro pump, dragon rage, and flamethrower, that I traded over to my 2nd Emerald save as a lvl 5. I still got that bugger transferred all the way up through pokemon bank and everything.
ahh feebas... i remember fishing on every tile on route 119, minus the few above the waterfall. not a single feebas. i go up the waterfall and, oh look, feebas on the very first tile. my internal battery had run dry by this point so i had to be very, very careful rationing out berries to make good blue pokeblocks (i also had to catch about 20 or so feebas to find one with a nature favorable to blue pokeblocks). ...worth it.

@@droomish1 facts bro lol 😂😫
The section about “the bottom of water” 6:48 comes so far out of left field every time I rewatch this. 10/10 hilarious
This video is amazing.
The only pro about your internal battery being dry is that the Feebas spots will never change. I remember having to hoarde every single berry I got in a new file just so I would hopefully have enough to change the Feebas I caught into Milotic. Had just enough to accomplish it
“These are the fish that make you regret your life decisions.”
I don’t need a fish for that!
This is amazing work, I got recommended this so hopefully the video blows up with views
thank you boss!! here's hoping
yoo underrated content right here
it's even worse in dppt, as far as i know the feebas tiles just respawn every single day, so it doesn't even have a fixed place you can return to. it does have less tiles but finding it was such a nightmare xD
Please never do a shiny hunt for your own mental health
A beautiful study of what onset madness looks like lol. Makes me realize how dangerous that route's river really is, what with all the Carvanha swimming around >
The SPONGEBOY ME BOB made me grin and I went to subscribe, but then I remembered I was already subbed
Gen 6 milotic for me :) you are absolutely right though, owning your own milotic feels like a power trip.
The slow decent of sanity was perfect in this ep.
Didn't think this could be worse than looking for a metal coat, but here we are
Wait, Metal Coat was rare? Don't you just steal those from Magnemites?
Feebas (and Milotic) was the one pokemon I needed to complete the Sapphire Hoenn pokedex. So frustrating.
true sigma grindset used here. very nice very pog, how do you pronounce milotic
pronounced like ligma I believe. hope this helps
my-low-tick
Just seeing the thumbnail brought back so many HOURS of fishing on those tiles to no avail.
just to be safe, i went ahead and caught multiple feebas. wanted to make sure i had one
Love this video man excellent work
I remember I was doing a replay of Emerald a few years back.
Bro made a whole ass video on the entire reason i stopped playing pokemon for 6 years
The fishing explanation at about 6:00 minutes in made me realize something.
If you ever pivot your channel to fishing, I'd watch the hell out of that.
That meteor herd theme got me dancing to your pain
This video made me soooo nostalgic! Pokemon Emerald and the bg music from Paper Mario Thousand Year Door! My 2 most played games back in the old days!
Apparently I'm subbed, honestly just found this in my recommended and enjoyed it!
You're triggering sooooo much pain bro... Love the nostalgia 🤣
I got a Milotic before the league in BDSP, that's where knowing DP inside out gets you
Started a play through of Ruby the other day, and last night I got to the Feebas route. I wanted one and figured I may as well start the finding process now, and prepared myself for a grueling ordeal. The fifth tile I checked had a Feebas, I’ve never felt so relieved
I knew this was gonna be a slog when you started hunting in the rain.
"It is raining"
"It is raining"
"It's still raining"
Watching this whole farming a shiny feebas is the life
I too am like a Feebas, except if I were to become truly beautiful, I wouldn't become a water serpent. That's tuff but good video rebranded Drew.
thanks boss
It's so beautiful! Worth every second if you ask me. Febass was just a dream for me as a child.
Hilarious commentary when you were trying to catch Feebas😂
One benefit if having a game with a dead battery is that the feebas tiles don't change so once you find one you're good to go
This pokemon is a menace. Then u get it n need to do extra steps to evolve it lmaooo
Back when I was a kid playing Emerald, I fished up Feebas on accident. Then I went back to show my friends the next day and never found another one again
Never did the original hunt, but I have done it in both Platinum and BDSP, fun little journey, sucks that you made it harder by using super rod lol.
I was 10 when I decided to make the decision to fish for Feebas on Emerald to get Milotic for the Battle Frontier. It took me 7 hrs, but it paid off.
lmao 6 minutes in and he's already lost his mind with the slow-reel tangent
im finally deciding to take on this hunt myself. wish me luck, cant wait to actually see a milotic on my gba's screen
Did you find one?
This is the most realistic Feebas video I’ve ever seen (apart from the part where you found Feebas)
Nice video. I really enjoy the sound quality
Can i say i love this channel talk about unique seen like 9 videos so far love em all
I almost feel bad because I've done it twice.
I did it a couple weeks ago. Had one after 5 tiles.
Absolutely love the inclusion of Metroid Fusion music
When I replayed emerald in 2016 I found feebas on the first tile I fished on. Didn’t realise it was this rare
Cap
@@hectorlumbagoCringe As in I fished a couple times in one tile and got it. Just got mega lucky
@@hectorlumbagoCringemillions of people play these games. It’s gonna happen to a few people
Imagine my favorite past time for old Pokémon was breeding. Running back and forth, back and forth
Now we all realise how badass Cynthia is by having to endure this and still also having a Spiritomb in her party...
