Whereas I have two sets of GBA's and Wireless adapters, needing a third for Dodrio Berry Picking... Seriously all I have is a LeafGreen cart and most I can get is 3 stars / Silver Trainer Card. It sucks.
@@Hydrocannon I was stuck in this area for 10 years but I bided my time and an opportunity presented itself, a friend in the US was collecting and completing the games and I won him some auctions for gen 3 games and GBA sp which are cheaper in UK than over there and since I already had my sets of 2 i finally had 3 of everything in one place so i got 2 colleagues from work to help me and we got it done eventually and I finally have my 4th star after all this time, patience pays off heh :)

Huge props for this very excellent video! & being able to capture as well. I’m so happy interest in niche things like this still exists. I wasn’t aware Dodrio Berry Picking was a 3 player game, guess I’ll have to get a 3rd GBA & Adapter lol

(The best gen) Little things from the shiny dodrio, to even formatting quirks like the shroomish banner and sound effects from pinball rs, I LOVED every part of this! I'd love to see more content like this from you. Keep up the great work!
Wow I didn't know about these minigames! You should look into the Pokemon Platinum Wi-Fi Plaza! I loved those mini games so much and I would beg my friends to play them all the time :P I don't see a lot of people talking about it Fun video, great work!
awesome video, ive wanted to know more about these minigames for ages!! Im a huge gen 3 fan and fire red was my first pokemon game so it has a special place in my heart. I actually own Fire Red, Leaf Green, two wireless adapters, a gamecube, a gameboy player (and disk), a GBA, and a GBA SP so im set up to play these, i just need a friend LOL. unfrotunately i also need one more game copy and one mroe wireless adapter for the berry catch minigame :/

Neat! I recently got into collecting gba games and currently have all the gen 3 mainline stuff except emerald, and once I complete firered I'll be taking on the jump minigame. Looks like I'll have to get another copy for the dodrio game though, didn't realize it required 3.
Something to note about the group of 5 thing: Japan is muuuch more dense than America, so I’d imagine Japanese kids had a way easier time gathering a group of 5 than American kids
I actually loved Pokemon jump, me and my brother used to play it together and just laugh at how goofy some pokemon looked when jumping, like Shuckle and Slugma. good times. The games was simple but simple sometimes is best.
I wish it was possible to play these minigames by yourself. It is apparently possible to make that a thing and there is unused code for playing Dodrio Berry Picking by yourself or with one other person, but I haven't had any luck getting the games to work solo with the decomps.
Main Qualms I have with FR LG and gen 5 is they are to wireless multiplayer dependent, its why I find emerald and gen 4 way more cool and efficient in those areas
I hope to do this myself one day. All I have left from my brother getting my games stolen is a measly LeafGreen, a fake non-saving Ruby and a Colosseum. I hope to complete it someday...
Jw do you think non saving makes it inherently fake? I only ask bc I got a copy of gold that didn’t save a long time ago and I just figured it was glitched or broken not fake
@@astral_nemesis To my knowledge, Red Blue Yellow (Green) and Gold Silver & Crystal games require a functioning battery for save function. So no battery = no save. This was changed in Gen3 with advancing technology. In RSE (not FRLG) the battery is only required for keeping track of the in game clock for the purposes of Day/Night cycle, berry growing, daily events etc. Saving your game is completely removed from battery requirement.
@@astral_nemesis Either that, or as an universal problem with fake carts, the cheap parts used in their construction degrade and die so fast due to something about power that runs through the cart not being regulated correctly (or something like that I'm not sure), making the cheap contacts burn out etc. You should look it up. If you can, I suggest opening your cart up and seeing yourself if you can risk it. In such event, if you see a big black blob in on the board, it should be a dead giveaway to the cart being fake. Another big indicator is the wrong colored casing (if it's black, regular gray etc) or the sticker on the front having wrong type font/misplaced logos etc. A good place to learn about these things is the "gameverifying" subreddit.
Here in Europe (Belgium) the Wireless Adapter came with the game 🙏 so me, my brother and a friend in our neighborhood all had the adapter and used it for trading Pokémon and playing the games ☺️
Droomish bro can you make a video about the HGSS events AKA the best events and distributions ever in the history of Pokémon? Maybe the PokeWalker too.
Yes and yes! both of these ideas have been on my list, I've been playing around with how I would shoot a pokewalker video and it not look like garbage 😅 can hopefully share those thoughts soon
My friends and I had wireless adapters when we were younger (I think we all still do!) but we never did these mini games for some reason. I wish we had! Looks fun (and frustrating haha). Any reason you didn't go into the Berry Crush game too?
Does it have to be wireless? Wouldnt a regular link cable work for the jump rope game? And my link cord has an outlet spot for another link cord to plug in to allow 3 players, so I wonder if dodrio berry would work like that
Knew about these games but never knew you had to provide your own Pokémon for the games. And you could just put a camera up to a screen to record footage like old Pokémon RUclips days :P
FireRed was my first Pokemon game way back when I was just 7 years old, but I never had anyone to play with, so these minigames have always just sort of lurked in the back of my mind. I knew they existed, and they had this sort of tantalizing mystique to them, but they were never that well documented and no one really seemed to care about them. Very gratifying to see a full breakdown of them!
such a fire video, I love that you did a deep dive of a such a cool old game, arguably the best pokemon game, really mind-blowing how there are still things we don't know about the games hidden in the codes and what not :)
The amount of things that have only been documented recently about the gen 3 games, despite them being *so old* is just wild. So much time and care and attention, put into a part of the game its genuinely possible less people experienced as-intended then have watched this video.
Drew Drew Orange. Thoughts?
