Bikepacking Moab, Utah | A Rugged, Desolate & Diverse Ride | Peaks & Plateaus Route

- Last week, a handful of us set out from our can camp site outside of Moab, Utah on a 170 mile bikepacking route through native Ute land. This was my first multi-day bikepacking adventure and it set the bar extremely high. From riding near the snow capped La Sal mountains, to camping deep sandstone Lockhart Basin, the views and roads were both some of the best I've ever seen.
This route featured between 50-60 mile days on the bike, and set. 4,000 ft of climbing each day for 3 days total and 2 nights camping. I learned a few valuable things on this trip and definitely won't forget the memories made and miles traveled with this crew.

I have owned and ridden a 94 GT that I built . I do not ride like I did in younger years but it still gets ridden very often.

Looking forward to doing Moab this summer, maybe just camping, but i'd like to do an overnight bikepacking trip with a group if possible.
Totally! You should. There are many great places to do just an overnighter.
What time of the year was this?
Hi there! This was just two weeks ago, end of March.
Be great when they open up bicycle trails to atvs.

“Wrong bike”?
Nah, not wrong bike. Felt confident on it with a bit of mountain bike experience. Would go hardtail possibly.
@@joshhicks8874 No, I mean that one of you appears to say “wrong bike” to the person sitting on a motorcycle.
@@WadeParish oh, yes, haha in that moment…I was thinking wrong bike. But I guess if hiking a bike then no bike is the right bike. 😅
