Chaz Aria LLC Miranda's growths aren't bad, but Thracia being a game with low caps means they do jack. Her weapon ranks in other hand are bad because lolFire Magic in Jugdral games.
I am probably the ONLY person left on this planet that doesn't hate Revelations; but even I will admit they should just stick to two routes next time (and ONLY have split releases for Japan); considering they apparently really messed up the story when they shifted from the initial two planned routes.
They should also fire whoever wrote Fates' story. It's not terrible, but it's not nearly as good as it could've been. I still can't believe Intelligent Systems chose a manga author who had no prior experience with Fire Emblem to be one of the lead writers for Fates. It seems they're not as intelligent as their company name suggests.
@@mask938 I'm guessing the reason why they wanted a person with no fire emblem experience was because they were hoping for a fresh new take since they are new to the series. This way it becomes less likely to retread older games in terms of the story. Unfortunately it didn't pay off.
I must say Blazing Knight when it comes to quality you do not let the most minute of details get over looked when making a video. Where to begin? The presentation (both animation and live action) is top notch, the script blends factual evidence and intelligent humour in way that it resembles the work of a master class author. Then there’s the Bantu rant... Lets just say I would not want to be around you if some poor soul mentions the less than stellar manaketes name. Sad to hear Bantu is THAT bad. He was the only male dragon for a while. For a series lacking playable male dragons, sad to hear one of the few suck. Corrin at least helps as he is still my favorite unit to this day. Hopefully Bantu enters Heroes and gets a HUGE buff.
I liked Lyre. I always saved an Energy Drop for her to fix that strength stat, and that was enough to make her passable enough to train in her stage. Also, one thing I'd do for weaker units in RD was give them 99 bonus exp so they'd get a level immediately when the battle starts, and that little boost would help a lot too.
I'm super late to the party, but ironically, one of the things that makes Lyre bad is also one of her greatest strengths: being a cat. If you can get her high enough, the cat mastery skill is ABSURD. Still, you're probably better off not using her... but I found her better than Fiona, at least. LOL (Definitely not saying she's good, just not completely unusable!)

I don’t think Sothe is that awful since at least he offers some purpose in his starting chapter and has pretty good growths though he is still the worst in fe9. One unit I am surprised you didn’t at least mention is Nomah from both Gaiden and Echoes. - He is a magic unit in Celica’s path, so already he has a lot of competition - A late game prepromote with weak as hell bases - The second worst growth total in the game - Same spell list as Boey who joins much earlier with way better growths In conclusion, a trash mage with nothing unique to him and will be outclassed heavily by 3 way superior units ( and that’s assuming you neither picked Sonya or made Atlas a mage )

I have the experience of trying to use Wendy and Sophia - both starting with horrible hit rates, making their training a painful mission, even if you know how to keep them out of danger. While I can't recommend them to anyone, Wendy is my guilty pleasure, and she became a great General multiple times in my playthrough - but the training session can really feel like a letdown, the promotion bonuses will give her the significant boost that puts her on the map. I however never experienced a fun Sophia build, and she is clearly the worst FE unit in my eyes even now.
Henry having Nelson's laugh is a little too perfect. Vaike being Junkrat is also weirdly fitting. 'Fiona' I read an LP on the LPArchives where the readers made the LPer use her. She capped her stats. All of them. 'All the Clothes tearing.' ......Is that a thing in Fire Emblem Heroes? Why?
Ok, that's not the point though, Fiona absolutely can hold her own late game if you bother to put the work into her, but putting that work into her just isn't worth it. When you could give your Bexp to Jill, Micaiah and Nolan who are absolutely useful throughout part 1 and 3

@@Ethan-nl2wg RD Illyana is a weird case of a bad unit. She's generally usable and while not great, raising her isn't too much of a hassle. However, she has her best opportunity for Exp in the Dawn Brigade, all of whom need exp rather desperately. To make matters worse, she then leaves the DB, leaving you there with a weaker Dawn Brigade and more trouble in later chapters. She's not bad per se, but the circumstances are not in favor of using her.
*siiiigh* reminds me my first playthrough of Radiant Dawn, Fiona got herself killed moment the Greil Mercenaries began charging, and I have no plans restarting that defending chapter =_="
He actually not that bad in fact his bases are pretty good (aside from speed and resist) and can actually carry him for a good amount of time also he is mounted which is always helpful. Oh and I nearly forgot his personally skill is very good when paired up with Corrin. So while yes Gunter is bad due to his low growths, at least he some uses.
Objectively he's actually a solid unit, especially in Conquest where he joins with strong bases, mounted utility, three weapons to use and one of the better personal skills in the game.

I don't know why you talk about the fact that you "Wouldn't want to train any newbies" when talking about miranda when Sara joins in the exact same chapter, is also extremely low level, yet is also an insanely good unit.
I will say I must have had pretty good luck with Wendy, Sophia, and Lyre in my playthroughs. They turned out to pretty much be one of if not the best unit of their class. As well as a few others like Amelia and Nino.
I've had the same situation with all those units minus Lyre, since unless it's the hardest difficult or you're doing an LTC or 0% growth run there are many ways to make bad fire emblem units very potent.

Thracia is quite fun, one of my favourite units (Ronan) is in the game, he may be bad (good res though) but if you want another archer talk to the house by the boss in chapter 1.
Vyland will never good even in heores though because even though that Sophia ,Lyn, Nephennee, Mia,Sanaki,nowi, amd more are better, They made Seth one of the most space taking units in the game
I’d argue swapping 2 and 3, I’m going to be blunt.. Shanam is a joke character for those of us that beat FE4 prior. Him teaching Astra to your best swordmaster is his only purpose.

I love general Amelia too since she's the only other general you can get next to Gilliam, also I personally wouldn't say training bad units is a fetish of mine, it's just something I'm very good at.
I liked it. Some units I've been RNBlessed with(Gwendy and Fiona MVP) as well as others I tried and benched in frustration(...Meg). Some even I like by their design and character(Karla and Sophia) despite mixed performances. Bantu I actually benched right away, I saw the bases and compared to my units. He sat in the back or on the bench once I could. Even with this list some I'll still use despite how lackluster they're likely to be. Though the list reaffirmed my intense dislike/hatred of some units. Shannam... Didn't play that game but I dropped my jaw when I realized he was a Swordmaster! That's some Chapter three stats FFS. Even in Lyndis' story!
I personally think Arthur is Fire Emblem Fates is worse, his luck actually the worst, even with the skill Gamble unequipped, more than often, he misses his target and is taken out because of his low defense. Even when promoted, he sucks
Fortunately, you can kinda salvage Arthur because of the fact that Luck's benefits were nerfed and Goddess Icons give +4 instead of +2. Throw a couple of them on him and he's much more reliable, especially when you promote him to hero class, since Skill has a much bigger impact on accuracy. He also gains access to Swords, meaning he can control the weapon triangle, further increasing his hit rate when at an advantage. Finally, giving him a Killer weapon when he hits C rank makes him more accurate than using a Steel/Silver weapon with neither of their drawbacks (-Str/Skill for Silver, -5 Speed for Steel) and compounded with his personal skill and Gamble gives him almost a consistent 50% Crit chance.
Low luck sucks, but it's not that big of a deal. He has pretty good damage output, and has a crit aura that can help boost rates to pretty silly amounts. Even if he falls off pretty fast, you can't act like he's worse than anyone on this list.
Actually, I've found that Arthur's Defense is pretty decent given his ridiculous HP. Plus throwing on Gamble and a Killer Axe gives Arthur a ridiculously high Crit Rate, and 30%-ish Crit Rates tend to land more often than not.

You know, I watched Blazing Knight back then. The quality has gone up. The opinions and delivery have gone up. The objective opinion has gone up. I want more. Thanks Blazing Knight.
I have yet to watch this video yet but I'll toss out some examples that I think should make the grade and why. FE4 - Corple. Right, in a game surrounded by gods with probably the greatest unit that will ever exist in any FE universe (Sigurd), when your replacement character is better than you, you are trash. Valkyrie Staff and Major Blagi blood doesn't save you. FE6 - Wendy. You have 4 Move and bases worse than Bors who showed up in Chapter 1. You're not even worth breaking the wall. FE8 - Ewan. A trainee halfway through the game? Forget it. Amelia's at least worth more due to her Speedwing. FE9 - Sothe. I think I've only fielded Sothe once and that was for desert items and even still, I found myself wishing that I had a better unit available. We're 9 games into the series, why do you not promote from Thief? Just a few who should (and in Wendy/Ewan's cases, probably do) make the list. Honerable mention to Fiona for dying before recruitment. PS: Nino is actually usable and is quite helpful in FE7 Ranked runs. She's still pretty bad but not Top 10 list. Just in case she's here. EDIT: Halfway through and I see Sophia. Oh, the escort mission in Arcadia... yay. Thank god there are no Jeigans here.
Rafi Broer FE4 - Coirpre is a case of being outclassed instead of being bad, every staffbot can do whatever he does better but at least Claud or Dew makes him more usable and Charlot is no better in a regular kid since Claud might have fathered Lana or even Erinys's kids making Fat Shota Sigurd just as superfluous as Coirpre. By the way, the unit in FE4 is Hannibal and it shouldn't be debated. Even the Bow Fighters and Daisy have some uses, but the old man is pretty useless. The rest of the aforementioned units does suck indeed.
Common misconception with Karla: You don't have to be on Hector Hard Mode to get her. You can get her on Hector Normal, too. Same thing applies with the extra gaiden chapters and Farina. Source: Every time I play FE7, I play on Hector Normal mode and get all of the above. Yes, even Karla. I really like giving Lyn that Wo Dao.
I know that she's not Hector hard mode specific and I did mention that Barte has to be a level 5 warrior on Hector mode, though since most people automatically think of Hector mode being as just Hector hard mode I'm not surprised by the misconception.
Just realised Wolt should have maybe been in here. Or at least a dishonourable mention. You get him in the prologue of fe6 and he still manages to contribute nothing and can't do shit against anything.... and that's on normal mode. I'm going to defend Sophia a tiny bit against Wendy. She's a shaman so you already knew she was going to be squishy going in and she's always got 1-2 range. Comparatively, Wendy is incapable of doing the one job armour knights are supposed to do. Wendy for worst in FE6
When it comes to FE either Sophia or Wendy can be considered the worst depending on the time of day, but you are right in terms of role compression Wendy initially fails at her duty more so than Sophia.

I have the experience of trying to use Wendy and Sophia - both starting with horrible hit rates, making their training a painful mission, even if you know how to keep them out of danger. While I can't recommend them to anyone, Wendy is my guilty pleasure, and she became a great General multiple times in my playthrough - but the training session can really feel like a letdown, the promotion bonuses will give her the significant boost that puts her on the map. I however never experienced a fun Sophia build, and she is clearly the worst FE unit in my eyes even now.

@@Ethan-nl2wg RD Illyana is a weird case of a bad unit. She's generally usable and while not great, raising her isn't too much of a hassle.
However, she has her best opportunity for Exp in the Dawn Brigade, all of whom need exp rather desperately. To make matters worse, she then leaves the DB, leaving you there with a weaker Dawn Brigade and more trouble in later chapters.
She's not bad per se, but the circumstances are not in favor of using her.

He actually not that bad in fact his bases are pretty good (aside from speed and resist) and can actually carry him for a good amount of time also he is mounted which is always helpful. Oh and I nearly forgot his personally skill is very good when paired up with Corrin. So while yes Gunter is bad due to his low growths, at least he some uses.

Objectively he's actually a solid unit, especially in Conquest where he joins with strong bases, mounted utility, three weapons to use and one of the better personal skills in the game.

I don't know why you talk about the fact that you "Wouldn't want to train any newbies" when talking about miranda when Sara joins in the exact same chapter, is also extremely low level, yet is also an insanely good unit.
I will say I must have had pretty good luck with Wendy, Sophia, and Lyre in my playthroughs. They turned out to pretty much be one of if not the best unit of their class. As well as a few others like Amelia and Nino.
I've had the same situation with all those units minus Lyre, since unless it's the hardest difficult or you're doing an LTC or 0% growth run there are many ways to make bad fire emblem units very potent.
I tried using Wendy and Sophia and they turned out above average but not as good as BK's version

I love general Amelia too since she's the only other general you can get next to Gilliam, also I personally wouldn't say training bad units is a fetish of mine, it's just something I'm very good at.
I liked it. Some units I've been RNBlessed with(Gwendy and Fiona MVP) as well as others I tried and benched in frustration(...Meg). Some even I like by their design and character(Karla and Sophia) despite mixed performances. Bantu I actually benched right away, I saw the bases and compared to my units. He sat in the back or on the bench once I could. Even with this list some I'll still use despite how lackluster they're likely to be. Though the list reaffirmed my intense dislike/hatred of some units.
Shannam... Didn't play that game but I dropped my jaw when I realized he was a Swordmaster! That's some Chapter three stats FFS. Even in Lyndis' story!
I personally think Arthur is Fire Emblem Fates is worse, his luck actually the worst, even with the skill Gamble unequipped, more than often, he misses his target and is taken out because of his low defense. Even when promoted, he sucks
Fortunately, you can kinda salvage Arthur because of the fact that Luck's benefits were nerfed and Goddess Icons give +4 instead of +2. Throw a couple of them on him and he's much more reliable, especially when you promote him to hero class, since Skill has a much bigger impact on accuracy. He also gains access to Swords, meaning he can control the weapon triangle, further increasing his hit rate when at an advantage. Finally, giving him a Killer weapon when he hits C rank makes him more accurate than using a Steel/Silver weapon with neither of their drawbacks (-Str/Skill for Silver, -5 Speed for Steel) and compounded with his personal skill and Gamble gives him almost a consistent 50% Crit chance.
Low luck sucks, but it's not that big of a deal. He has pretty good damage output, and has a crit aura that can help boost rates to pretty silly amounts. Even if he falls off pretty fast, you can't act like he's worse than anyone on this list.
LuxrayBlastAnimations Arthur is a pair up back pack for Effie which is the only way to survive until chapter 10 conquest on lunatic and hard.
Actually, I've found that Arthur's Defense is pretty decent given his ridiculous HP. Plus throwing on Gamble and a Killer Axe gives Arthur a ridiculously high Crit Rate, and 30%-ish Crit Rates tend to land more often than not.
Axes can be nice in Conquest due to Ch.17 and he has a good support set anyway. No where near the worst unit.

I have yet to watch this video yet but I'll toss out some examples that I think should make the grade and why.
FE4 - Corple. Right, in a game surrounded by gods with probably the greatest unit that will ever exist in any FE universe (Sigurd), when your replacement character is better than you, you are trash. Valkyrie Staff and Major Blagi blood doesn't save you.
FE6 - Wendy. You have 4 Move and bases worse than Bors who showed up in Chapter 1. You're not even worth breaking the wall.
FE8 - Ewan. A trainee halfway through the game? Forget it. Amelia's at least worth more due to her Speedwing.
FE9 - Sothe. I think I've only fielded Sothe once and that was for desert items and even still, I found myself wishing that I had a better unit available. We're 9 games into the series, why do you not promote from Thief?
Just a few who should (and in Wendy/Ewan's cases, probably do) make the list. Honerable mention to Fiona for dying before recruitment.
PS: Nino is actually usable and is quite helpful in FE7 Ranked runs. She's still pretty bad but not Top 10 list. Just in case she's here.

FE4 - Coirpre is a case of being outclassed instead of being bad, every staffbot can do whatever he does better but at least Claud or Dew makes him more usable and Charlot is no better in a regular kid since Claud might have fathered Lana or even Erinys's kids making Fat Shota Sigurd just as superfluous as Coirpre. By the way, the unit in FE4 is Hannibal and it shouldn't be debated. Even the Bow Fighters and Daisy have some uses, but the old man is pretty useless.
The rest of the aforementioned units does suck indeed.
Common misconception with Karla:
You don't have to be on Hector Hard Mode to get her. You can get her on Hector Normal, too. Same thing applies with the extra gaiden chapters and Farina.

Every time I play FE7, I play on Hector Normal mode and get all of the above. Yes, even Karla. I really like giving Lyn that Wo Dao.
I know that she's not Hector hard mode specific and I did mention that Barte has to be a level 5 warrior on Hector mode, though since most people automatically think of Hector mode being as just Hector hard mode I'm not surprised by the misconception.
Just realised Wolt should have maybe been in here. Or at least a dishonourable mention. You get him in the prologue of fe6 and he still manages to contribute nothing and can't do shit against anything.... and that's on normal mode.

Wolf chip damage for the first 5 chapters in HM make him more viable than a lot of really bad unit like the Armors or Dorothy or Lilina

I'm going to defend Sophia a tiny bit against Wendy. She's a shaman so you already knew she was going to be squishy going in and she's always got 1-2 range. Comparatively, Wendy is incapable of doing the one job armour knights are supposed to do. Wendy for worst in FE6
When it comes to FE either Sophia or Wendy can be considered the worst depending on the time of day, but you are right in terms of role compression Wendy initially fails at her duty more so than Sophia.
