Fire Emblem though a fantastic series, isn't a perfect and at times produces some rather unimpressive characters. That being said I often view even some of the worst Fire Emblem entities to have small traces of greatest within them, with these 10 units being the ones I feel deserve another chance to set things right!

I feel like Faye's character could be greatly improved by one way. Change her ending if her and Alm reach A-support. In this new ending, she would actually get over Alm (like it was hinted that she would in her and Alm's A-support), find a new partner and make a new family, all while writing to Alm to stay in touch. It would show that she matured and fulfilled character development, as the A-support was building up to that.
I also think Kaden could also be improved character-wise by giving him a backstory which explains why he's so charitable to humans in order to give him much-needed depth. One example could be how when we was a defenceless cub, he was being hunted by poachers for his fur. They severely wounded him and just as they're about to land the killing blow, another group of humans stop the poachers and end up saving Kaden's life. For that reason, he swore a lifelong oath to help all good humans whenever they need it. In a sense, that experience made him the kitsune he is now.
In the ending she did end up having her own family but yeah she still didn't move on from him. That alone wouldn't make her better imo though. Her character being so focused on Alm alone and shunning anything not related to him in general was annoying and bad. Her ending with Silque wasn't even that good of a resolution either.

I've known some Fayes, where even if they have a new partner they still fondly think of their ex. It may be unhealthy or whatnot... But it's realistic.
The difference with Faye is that the person she still has feelings for is the King of the continent she lives on.
Not as if she can easily get over it. The peaceful environment she lives in also cements why she loves Alm so much.
@@mcihay246 Faye is my favorite character from Echoes because she and her Situation are so relateable for me. It makes me a little sad that most People dislike her for being different.
In terms of the Kaden support, I think there’s a fan made one between him and Benny that actually does exactly what you say, and yeah, it does add some more intrigue to his character

Not that I would make many changes to Scarlet... but she should have had more supports with other characters. Ryoma in particular.
Ryoma and Hinoka got screwed in general.
There is a chanel called UnassumingVenasaur ( or something like that) that makes fanmade supports, especially for units like Scarlet, Flora and other units with almost no supports. It may not be oficial but they do a pretty good job at it. Also, read the Silas/Flora one, It's awesome.
Flora should support Jakob and Felicia as well
Reina & Orochi... it's odd that they're the only retainers who don't have a support conversation with each other.

I was surprised Vika didn't get on this list. She literally had one conversation in the entire game that only told you she feels uncomfortable around Micaiah. If you want potential, she has an entire personality to write.
Yeah, it really says something when a bunch of voice clips from her in FeH was better at characterizing her than *her own game*

I wish the whole cast got more compared to the deliverance and their great dlc story.
One of my favorite casts in the series but god I wish they all had SO much more screentime, hell I wouldn't mind more "just chatting" supports just to see more of the cast

The only reason I'd object to Makalov being erased from all existence is that we miss out on the amazing moments where Marcia just tears into him. Seriously, I have never cheered more than when Marcia tells Makalov how terrible he really is.
It almost makes up for how he single-handedly brought Astrid down with him as a character. From the base conversation introducing the pair in Radiant Dawn, we learn two things right off the bat:
1. Astrid went from a self-respecting person who considered herself a warrior above all else to the person cleaning up Makalov's messes at the expense of her own dignity.
2. Danved is pretty amazing.
Davned personally I prefer Devdan, but to each their own. I quite agree Makalov is a toxic character to everyone but Marcia it seems.
Joke thief extraordinar Kinda hard to make a cavalier in PoR bad, but his character is flawed, i like flawed characters, Shinon and Soren are some of my favourite characters in tellius, but Makalov is too flawed.

Honestly, I'd rather have a few spots of flawed characters than a completely perfect and goody-two shoed cast.
This was a really nice video you made. It feels like a breath of fresh air to hear someone not completely bash certain characters for their flaws but instead ponder what aspects could be improved upon to gain more depth and better battle performance if the game they debuted in is re-released in a remake or special edition. Thank you for making a great video BLAZINGKNIGHT, this video shows your ability to improve on the mechanics of individual games and your understanding of seeing the potential in a variety of characters even when streams of cruel voices say otherwise, that is a marvellous quality to have.
Kliff and Faye got less characterization than Tobin/Gray because they are also recruitable in Celica's route
They deserved equal characterization on Celica’s route, and a support with each other.

Your thinking on Peri is pretty interesting. I was thinking myself that her tendencies to kill servants at the slightest offense might have come from exemple. Maybe Not that she was forced to do it, but that she may have witnessed her father killing a servant in an act of rage, maybe alcohol induced, after the death of his wife.
It could have shocked her a lot and it could be double-edged : on one side she could be very frightened of the servants in general, not out loud, but subconsciously, and afraid that they might try to kill her. In that way she would interpret the slightest mistake on their part as an attempt or planning of murder, giving Peri all the excuses she need for herself. It wouldn't even be so far-fetched with how much of a cut-throat the Nohrian court is and give her justification in the eyes of Xander, who will naturally emphatize with her fear and explain why he is partial to her. And it would explain lik in canon why she is making her own food, as she is afraid she may be poisoned one day by a servant.
On the other hand, back to the subject of her father, the fact of seeing her father do the deed, especially if he didn't seem very remorseful of it, it could have made in her mind an exemple to follow, and that murder and violence is the solution. Proof of it, her father is still alive, ans Peri herself is still alive ! Killing = good thing ! And with how devastated her father was after his wife death, he may very well have spoiled Peri and, like in canon, kept silence about her murder spree, feeling inside him that the servants deserved it for letting the tragedy he suffered happen, even fiding some sort of evil catharsis in that.
Well, adding to that I'm writing a Fates fanfic and I am going to tackle the matter of Peri as well as I started with other characters. Your video was very interesting in that regard of "how to better an existing character without destroying its roots", so, thank you for that very well made content !
Well this is a pretty unique topic. With the exception of changing Kliff and Faye's stats, I definitely agree with the rest of the revamped stats. It was also interesting to hear the potential revamp of the personalities too.
Actually, Meg is easy to fix by doing just one thing: Make her a pegasus knight instead of an armor knight. Just look at her growths, they make no sense on an armor unit.

She was put in as a joke unit, she's not supposed to be good. The Radiant Dawn developers were trolls, at least in the instances of Meg and the Guard skill literally doing nothing period unless equipped on an enemy. They knew what they were doing.
I would just like to comment on Faye. While I agree the lack of supports in Echoes REALLY hurts her, as it does other characters, like Kliff and Luthier, I believe the way Faye turned out was intentional. One of the many themes in Echoes is Change vs Status Quo, with Alm and Celica being the advocates of the former and Faye of the latter. From its narrative, Echos clearly chooses Change and how it's important to take the initiative, move forward, and get over the past...
But Faye doesn't change. Faye stands as the antithesis of this particular theme, and I think that's worth mentioning. The fact that Faye is the only villager stuck in the past, and the only one to go back to Ram indicates how much she's unable to abandon the simple and convenient life she's known her whole life. Her bittersweet ending, her initial disregard of Silque and the hints that the war is weighing on her, augment this aspect of hers, as she finds it very hard to accept change in her life.
So, while Faye would definitely need some improvements (mainly more fucking supports!), the idea around her character is perfectly fine. Not everyone will get a happy ending, and not everyone will find enlightenment is whatever quest they're performing. Faye is exactly that. Alm desires change, Tobin is iffy on it but accepts it, Faye is iffy on it and can't accept it.

Shadow Dragon was a snorefest in general. And no, it being a remake doesn't excuse it. If anything, it being a remake makes its shortcomings even worse.

A unit I think deserves a second chance is Shigure. He was a character with quite a lot of potential. Too bad it was locked in DLC and I feel he should’ve played a bigger role. He was the somewhat fated version of Lucina being the child who always has siblings and a role somewhere
I feel like Faye and Kliff are two characters defined by trauma. Faye was the kid who was taken as a hostage Slayde, while Kliff was the youngest of the group when it happened, it’s possible that the event affected them deeply and shaped them into the people that they’re today; Faye obsessing over Alm since she considers him her savior and Kliff becoming cold and power-seeking as he was constantly mocked by his friends and probably came to internalize that he wasn’t strong enough. That being said, I feel like it would be needed for their trauma to be recognized and for them to have more screen time in order to develop, so I’m 100% on board with those changes! Even if they can be recruited in both routes, we still have the post-game for them to interact with the members of the other army, giving us something else to look forward to other than kicking Grima’s ass after we finish the main plot.
I have to say the "different" style of editing with switching back and forth from game perspective to real life is really something I like

I like to say Faye is like Cordelia, except she got closure with Alm at the end (even if she didn’t take it well at all).
Tharja at least had other interests (various magic fields) and had other "friends" (nowi, gregor, cordelia etc) faye is just.... pathetic tbh
I have to say, the progression of the production values of these videos (particularly the editing) has really been amazing to watch. There's clearly a LOT of effort that goes into making these, and it really makes these a joy to watch. Keep it up Blazing Knight!

I do think your changes are making Cecilia worse, not better. She is not as bad in Arcadia as people think: she has a good starting position (all the way in the front) and 2 mov isn't really notably worse than your other units. Plus she's free deployment and not bad enough to be a total liability so there's no reason not to have her there. And by moving her join time to Ch15 you also lose out on her in 14x, which is a chapter she's pretty good in.
Cecilia's stats hardly impact her performance. She's already good at utility. I get that they don't fit her character but I think she gets more out of 2 chapters of availability than a slight change in stats. Especially those growth rate changes, they don't do anything for a unit that can be expected to only grow like 9 levels total.
Mekkkah Cecilia is just another Mekkah W.A.I.F.U.
the problem though is her stats don't really make sense from a story perspective. I get that growths don't need to be altered, but for the MAGE GENERAL, you'd expect her bases to not be on par with a level 12 unpromoted unit

12:00 Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia in general could've had more supports (at least a few more for certain characters like Kliff and Genny), but the full-on voice acting (which is "A-maz-ing!") probably made that more difficult to impossible to do with how they had less of a budget from what I heard. I think his conversations with Alm between chapters made up somewhat for that, though I wanted to know more about Kliff and his friendship with the Ram gang too.

Kliff was my absolute favorite in echoes! He was always super fun to use and I really wish he had more chances for characterization. I definitely agree with you with his support partners, but I thought the manga said he and Silque were love interests; not half siblings. If you remember, Slique's mother was also a priestess

I Fucking love the editing on this video. The way you use your hands to move the screens. You had too much fun making it and i had too much fun watching it.
Since I actually liked Lyre and was somehow able to use her effectively in Radiant Dawn if we get a new Fire Emblem game in the future that has a humanoid Feline race I wouldn't mind seeing a new incarnation of her show up hopefully this time with better stats in other areas to go along with her amazing speed and dexterity stats along with a good growth potential she can be a pretty useful unit. Along with allowing her to keep the adorable personality she had in Radiant Dawn.
I think you got what you wanted from peri in three houses in the form of jeritza. He has the dual personality of a murderer and a sweet dude. He has a tragic backstory and some of the other aspects you mentioned. Of course they could definitely improve him(like for example they could give him more than 4 supports.) but it’s nice to know that something of this happened.
Jeritza defo reflects some of the ideas I had in mind for Peri (hell in AZ Dimitri's a similar case) and I'm glad the series is being more open about addressing this kind of subject matter.

I love that your giving suggestions to improve units that you gave a second chance! If you have 10 bad units that you think could be improved you could make a video about it, and I mean bad units that you or the community consider bad. You can provide character changes and stat modifications so the character can be better in what they are (Camilla comes to mind).

I think for both robins, what the community and the recent games have created is more than what we started with; both their own personalities and their own fans, focussing less on representing themselves but loving the personality that they’ve become
To give them a fresh start, we could secure that identity as a beloved character, rather than seeing them as “that one avatar that had 6 alts in heroes”

Tbh I love Kliff but it was hard to train him- but I had the most success with him as an archer surprisingly
I just think that the teliah (or at least radiant dawn) could benefit from a remake to expand on characters and organize the game, making more of a fates or 3h where you choose your path and bring it all together.
You handled Faye so well, and I laughed so hard when you holding that shotgun to her. All in all, you make a good point of these two. Faye could become a more mature by the end of Echoes, and not giving her supports with Celica was a shot in the thigh in my opinion. Also, I might have changed her ending really fast! Let her be happy with her life, and leave Alm alone!
Good to see a list from you! and I always like how it's a very unqiue list, I would never be able to conceive this list as an idea, but you did, AND you chose 10 picks and made excellent cases for 'em. Even though I haven't played most of the games brought up I still enjoyed this video.

Can you make a countdown of the substitutes characters from Fire Emblem Genealogy of Holy War?
I like the substitutes, well except Daisy.
I don't think this character needs a second chance, but I really wish that this character did have a different character. This character being Alm. I'm not going to get into too much details, but I wish Alm's character did match up with Duma's character a bit more like how Celica'a character matches up with Mila's. Alm's character basically makes echoes into a story where the hero save the damsel in distress and this really erks me. Echoes' story tries to establish the pros and cons of both Alm's and Celica's path, but that never happens; instead, Alm is seen as right and Celica is seen as wrong. That is why a lot of people hate Celica since she is wrong. If Alm's character did show the cons of his view then maybe people would have understood both Alm and Celica. I do not hate Alm's character in echoes, but I do wish his character did fall in line with the story echoes was trying to show.

Yeah even though I like alm as a character alm and celica were not equals in the end alm saved celica, alm kills duma, alm becomes the true ruler of both zofia and rigel, and celica...just supports him I wish celica at least had something over alm but she becomes 2nd instead of an equal protagonist I would have liked if maybe alm should have seen what the war was doing not to just zofia but rigel as well there is supposedly famine(even though food is everywhere well just ignore that) and he sees the people suffering because of war and people are losing families some are in harsh living conditions just some moral gray to make what celica said about peace having more of a point
"Needs to match up with Duma!!!" What the hell, no he doesn't. Echoes wasn't about Celica and Alm being exactly like Duma and Mila. The only thing was Celica and Alm having disagreeing ideals. People assuming Echoes was trying to show that Alm = Duma are wrong. All Alm took from Duma was his strength stated by the game.
I don't know about that dude. Alm's character was really good in my opinion. His character being like Duma would just recycle the corruption in Valentia wouldn't it? I don't think Celica is exactly like Mila either. I do agree that they kind of pushed Celica being wrong and Alm being right kind of offputting. I didn't really like how Celica handled Alm's decision and then continued to make more wrong decisions because I'm pretty sure her character was supposed to be smarter than that. They could have showed their differing ideals in a better way that made more sense.
"I Swear I'm Good" as a weapon name, I'm dead!!! XD I agree with Kliff needing more time in the spotlight. He was my favorite character at the start when we were introduced to the villagers, and it made me really sad when he was just kind of ignored. I know he's technically optional, and you can recruit him in Celica's route, but damn it I want more of my angsty magic boy!

There is to much of you swinging your arms and pictures falling in and out of your hands. I think that those effects should be a more though thru for where you use it. Like when you want to increase or intensify something. I don't mind to see parts where you're just talking, without pictures flying around you. This is just a tip on how I think your videos can be better, I don't try to be mean or anything, you still make good content. Anyways, I hope that what I tried to declare comes across despite English not being my first language and it was great to see a video of yours again. I Really like the reasonings that you have.

Am I the only one who still plays genealogy? I feel great crossing a massive field (except when you gotta run through the whole map, but that can also feel so intense)
I might get shot for this but... am I the only one who feels like Sumia would have made a better first impression if IS hadn't been repeatedly purposely forcing her in Chrom's direction? I mean, her introduction made me immediately brush her aside as "the typical anime style clumsy and shy girl who's in love with Chrom that the game literally made just to ship with him" and so I didn't really bother using her much during my first playthrough especially once I got Cordelia. Until I started my next playthrough where I played Male Robin and used characters that I didn't before and actually saw her supports with characters that weren't Chrom and fell in love with her character.
Seriously, she's great with anyone but Chrom, if IS had done a better job with their support I'd have jumped on that ship in an instant but man did that fall flat, even Female Robin and Chrom's was at least hilarious and cute. To me at least xD

It's only natural to throw the pain at Alm, knowing that there's no time to stop and recuperate in a middle of a war.
Another great video Blazing, it’s nice seeing your work and it’s nice seeing giving characters a chance at redemption by how one could improve them. However I noticed you still did not give two particular characters the cold shoulder. Being inspired by your video and at the risk of causing your ire, I would like to challenge myself by giving ideas of how to improve Meg and (RD) Makalov.
Starting with Meg as a unit, what that poor girl needs is actual base stats. Her current bases are Lv3 with 21hp/10str/1mg/ 7sk/8sp/8luck/10def/5res. My changes would make her level 9 and have her stats look like this; 30/13/2/10/14/15/14/5. This is to give her actual survivable for her starting chapter and make her able to make contributions and kills that don’t come from babying her. Her current growths are 60%hp/35%str/15%mg/40%sk/65%sp/75%luck(why?)/35%def/50%res. My changes would be 60%/70%/30%/40%/65%/25%/50%/50% . The main change here was reducing that stupidly high luck growth to not only giver her native fortunate skill a purpose, but to redistribute it into her strength and defense growths to make her a growth unit worth using in the long run and the reason why most of it went into strength was to try and make her a more offensive armor Knight compared to Gatrie who is more balanced with his growths. Also another important change I would give to Meg is changing the Sword General speed cap from 22 to 25 to give her an edge over other generals to better reinforce her more offensive stat spread. Also extra magic growth for lols with imbue. As for character I can think of two good support lines for her. The first is of course with her “Pukims” Zihark. The support would focus on her trying to be a good wife to Zihark (who keeps trying to tell her politely that he isn’t interested) but goes a little too far with her attempts to be one. When Zihark has enough, he questions why she wants so crazy about being one. Meg reveals the reason that if she isn’t a good wife, she can’t fit into her society. Although Brom is always supportive of her, she feels like she sticks out since most of the other girls are already married, including her elder sisters, and pressures herself to be more like them and her married to herself. Zihark can empathize with her about feeling like society is pressuring her since he talks about how his society forced him to be away from his true love (who was a Laguz who died). Zihark then reinforces Meg by telling her that so long as she is a kind and caring person who tries their best, she doesn’t have to worry about how society labels her, ending the support with them being close friends (not lovers for me at least because I’m ZiharkxIlyana or xLethe). Another support idea is between her and Sothe with the support being about him helping her out and trying to help her improve. When Meg asks why he keeps helping him, it’s due to how she reminded him a lot three years ago during his search for Michiah and admires Meg for her bravery and willingness to find the one she loves despite being young and weak like his he was during his search (which you can use as a Meta joke to describe how bad he was in PoR), and the support ends on the high note of them having something like a mentor-student relationship.
Now for Makalov... *sees thatBlazing gives Thanos the okay to do the Snap, but before he can, [I] uses the sling ring from Doctor Strange to create a portal around Thanos’s hand and quickly closes it to cut off his hand to take the gauntlet for himself* Seriously why didn’t Strange do this? *Then uses the Infinity Gauntlet to erase Thanos and bring back all snap victims, including Makalov* Anyway, enough of this bad fanfic and back to the changes. Makalov’s current bases are Lv7 (Tier 2) with 37/18/5/17/18/20/15/17/9 and his current growths are 55%/40%/15%/40%/75%/45%/50%/25%. My changes would make his bases Lv10 (so one could instantly promote him) 35/20/5/22/20/15/15/9 and growth rates 55%/65%/15%/65%/75%/20%/25%/25%. The purpose of these changes was to mainly give him a niche between the other Gold Knights as a extreme glass cannon since in base he can’t match Kiran’s bulk or Titiania’s general awesomeness (or the other gold knight, but that one is a Gotoh for Endgame use only). It’s to make him into a more riskier, but possibly more rewarding to use with his hyper offensive play style that allows him to run away with his mount that also helps matches his character. For supports I could come up with only one between him and Astrid. I would change the dynamic between them from Makalov being a useless bugger with Astrid defending his always defending his every action and praising his name, to one where although they are friends, Astrid has started to become to become extremely fed up with his antics over these past three years. Their support would focus on Astrid finally snapping on him in a extremely harsh, but very deserved rant about his glaring flaws and no longer wants to associate with her. This rant is the vital wake up call for Makalov as he’s lost the only real person he ever could call a friend. Sometime later he is finally able to convince Astrid to come with him to a certain spot. Once there, he gives her all of his gold, proceeds to dump all of his items of his addictions such as his alcohol, cards, dice, ect, into a fire pit, and proceeds to burn them all. He then vows from that day forth to start as a completely clean man with who will start to put in an honest effort to better himself, and the support ends on the note of the two of them becoming friends again.
Man that took a while to write, but it was fun to do to try and figure out how to make these units better. Again thanks for the video Blazing Knight and have a nice day!

1) Honestly i'd say Shadow Dragon's soundtrack is really underrated. Stuff like Footsteps of Fate, and Showdown at Dolhr Keep are great tracks. It also has my favorite battle prep music
2) Just saying, Jamke is one of the worst units in Gen 1. All he can really do is arena and bows aren't a great weapon to be locked to.

Nyx and Benny could've had an enhanced relationship. They're actually going through the same thing. It's a "Don't judge a book by its cover" situation. Nyx is older than she actually looks, and Benny is treated like a brute, but in actuality he's a introvert. It would've been very satisfying learning about such a relationship.

I really like your editing style on the whole, in particular the sheer amount of energy it has, but there is one minor criticism of it that I might offer: The sound effects occasionally overpower your voice severely. Take 20:43 for example, where the word "Sigurd" was nearly inaudible, and the point might have been completely lost without the image.
Kliff was honestly underwhelming and in my opinion the character where one can do a lot lot lot more than the writers showed. There's so much potential, so much one can do.
Just by his pure potential Kliff was the reason I actually started to write on fan supports honestly... Because I think he deserved an expsnsion on his character.
The part about Cecilia makes me remenber some of the reasons that I hate some classic FE games.
The moment that a character join your party is the moment they die for the plot.

Ah, Peri. One of my favorite FE Characters, and a character I admittedly Waifu’d for about a year or two (until I learned about Persona 4, and a certain Spunky Dragon appeared ❤️)
Tbh, I agree with all of what you said for her. My main reason for even liking her had to do with her backstory and Support with Laslow, (the first ever time I had a real interaction with her character), so taking that and basically making it so she has two different sides makes a lot of sense to me, and clear improvement that I’d love to see to an old favorite 👌

Ruby Sapphire Emerald While i don't know much about Peri, i like her a little when i saw all her talks in Heroes, after seeing more of her stuff (haven't played Conquest yet, will play just to beat and to know the characters), i like her, not one of my favorites, but she is good (with problems).
100% agree in these changes to her, it would give her like a different bit of her, while having some of her original stuff.

I agree about Fiona. It would have been wonderful if she had good base stats because everything else about her is pretty cool. She’s a mounted unit, her skills are neat, and she’s a cool character.

Anyway, I do not think you should take the unit performance into account, because any unit like Setsuna can be good if you up their growth total by almost 100%. Sure she is strength screwed more often than not, but both the games she is playable in aren't really hard to begin with and her strength can be fixed via pair-up, tonics, energy drops or bow forges.
I enjoy your content and had some good chuckles in this one as well, but I think you missed the mark with this one.

Odin (Fates) deserves a second chance. Owain is amazing and Odin is too, but I can’t help think they didn’t do him justice in Fates. Not only was his build the most miserable of the awakening trio who all got shafted HARD, I feel like they were lazy in his support conversation in rehashing the same joke over and over again.
Odin is a creative colourful character and there were so many funny and interesting stuff they could have done.

Ok Peri’s magic up on her personal skill didn’t make sense to me either... until I looked at what she got with a heart seal.
For WHATEVER reason, her alternative class line is dark mage.
She’s not the only one with questionable heart seal options. Nyx gets outlaw, Charlotte gets troubadour, a lot of hoshidan characters get samurai (some make sense compared to others), and often I find that the classes use weapons they would never use, which in Fates is aggravating because weapon/staff rank take forever to upgrade.
I do like the idea of the changes for Kliff and Faye though I liked Kliff and Faye initially.
Also I could have sworn Hinoka would have been on this list considering how many people I've talked to don't like her. I love her though. Wish I could talk more extensively about this with you.
Oh Faye, after the first few support convos she had, i wanted to pry her off the party via giant spatula 8I. And it was downright ridiculous that even in the end, she refuses to move oooon.

It's interesting that you brought up Dissociative Identity Disorder with Peri. When you mentioned her violent and immoral tendencies being modified to have been started from a mental disorder, DID is the first thing that came to my mind, too, and it certainly makes sense, given that people with DID generally tend to have traumatic pasts. I'm by no means an expert on the subject, but I do have a good bit of experience on it, as several of my best friends have it.
Granted, this could possibly be seen as promoting the stereotype of people with such mental conditions being murderers, but what people need to understand is that, while yes, *some* people with conditions like this do become murderers, they need to look at these things on an *individual* basis, rather than blaming the condition as a whole. Different people, even with the same condition, have vastly different lives overall that make them, individually, who they are today, and there are a lot of people without mental conditions, who also are murderers.

This... is a nice change.
Often I have seen characters getting staffed due to their poor writing and in-game performance. Often these characters are made jokes. But actually taking the time to look at each character (at least for this list) and say "Okay, how can we fixe this/make them better" is something I love. Character's whom I had issues with before, had been given a brand new perspective. Even those that I still don't particularly favour are now elevated.
That said, I still feel that jabs and degradation is still favoured. To take a look at Garon, understand the hate, I do. Yet I feel even he can be reworked into something more tasteful.
Setsuna was a unit I found to be quite useful, although as everyone knows takumi completely overshadows her

Ever done/thought about modding your FE games? I know when that term is mentioned, a lot of people's first thought is of some of the really weird or bizarre "total" mods that people have done, or just make all their characters and weapons super OP, but if you want to (like I do) you _can_ just do a mod with minor adjustments and basically leave the game as-is except modify a few characters starting levels, stats, and growth rates to adjust the balance as you see fit, and actually get to play the game that way and experiment with what works best, and perhaps end up with a version of the game that is ever so slightly more perfect

I'd say that many of the Corrin-exclusive units could use a rework to be non-exclusive...but that is a given.

the problem with Faye is a problem i have with a lot of FE and anime characters in general (Cordelia, Tharja, Camilla, etc.). They treat a temporary thing like a crush as if it were some undying love thing. Which makes characters feel like they are mentally ill instead of whole characters. (i'm not saying that mental illness shouldn't be portrayed in video games, but most of the time it doesn't feel like it was the intent, but rather that the writers wanted to write some fetish trope for the otakus instead of a well written character.)

I’m 4 months late but it always makes me sad that Faye (alongside Kliff) became side characters who the writers forgot about and were made completely optional. I get that they wanted the Easter egg for them to join Celica, but it’s not like a group starting with three mages and a cleric needs another mage and cleric

I personally think they’re way more interesting than Tobin and Gray, and if I could change anything about Fates I’d make Tobin and Gray the optional characters, while Faye and Kliff become the plot relevant ones
I found Tobin and Gray to be interchangeable with one another anyways, their personalities are incredibly similar

They actually grow past they're love for the Avatars and are capable of developing love for other characters Faye on the other never moves past Alm
I think its that with Tharja and Camilla, They have more to them than being obsessed with the avatar. But Faye's obsession with Alm is pretty much all she has in terms of character.
Because Camilla's not always talking about Corrin, as he said to MaxHP during the FE Warriors review.
Seeing as you covered my least favorite character in all of FE, I think I need to say a couple of things:
1.) I think you're right about that intro for the character being the kind version.
2.) As for the character, if they were given the treatment you mentioned, and it was well done, they'd easily be one of my favorite characters in the series. Hopefully, we get that development for them some day as I'd rather my disdain be put in to characters who deserve it more and there is so much potential here that should be realized.

While you did do a really good job with improving Sophia, I do think that her stats can be also taken another way. Also, before I start, you forgot the fact that she always has to use ellipsis in her dialogue when talking in an actual conversation, but that's just a nitpick rather than anything else and the way you portrayed her was nice overall.

Though her bases are still a bit shabby, she can at least be a little bit more useful than her previous form ever was. Also, she MIGHT be able to take one hit at base against slow enemies or mages and do a bit more chip damage that's a little less inaccurate. Also, I'd keep the personal weapon you suggested, it fits her.

You can see what I *tried* to do. Make her stats fit a bit more for her character, as well as trying to make her a bit more accurate to her Heroes self (you know, Giraffe Girl?). I never thought that Sophia was a girl who was the type to have a lot of hp. Sure, she's half-dragon, but that's not much of an excuse considering the fact that you were someone who was raised to avoid outsiders, as said in her Castle Dialogue in Heroes (which is also why her vanilla bases are complete ass). So I thought she never really did anything that involved much physical activity other than moving around to get places, like Micaiah. That being said, you can tell what I tried to change up. Sure, she might still be horrible at the start, she's still not good for any type of speedrunner, but she can and will snowball into a Druid that will start taking 0 damage to almost everything and nuke them back tenfold (and if they survive, she might be able to attack again). When she's low on hp, which is one of her weakpoints, she can retreat and heal someone else probably to full with her high magic thanks to Druid being able to use staves, as well as use offense staves in the backlines like Sleep or Beserk.
While this Sophia is a great growth unit, her starting point is still complete garbo, and she'll take several levels in order for her to perform properly as an actual unit. Which means that she'll need to stay in the backline for a bit before being able to stand as a frontline mage. Also, if she's still in her early stages where her defenses will look moderately decent, she still might die to an unlucky crit since her luck is low and her hp is lower. Also, she might have a bit of trouble hitting things to score a kill and gain a level thanks to her skill also being a bit trashy. This also means that she probably won't ever be able to score a critical hit on her own, but who really needs those?
So, sorry I basically typed an essay on how much I liked this one set of pixels that is a fictional character. I just wanted to see if I could try to give my opinion on someone who I think is a great character and wished that they got some more spotlight.
