400mm 2.8! Incredible piece of glass! Before all the crazy times happened, I picked up a few used telephoto lenses to adapt to my a7iii. 400mm olympus, 300mm nikon, and 70-200 sigma. Can't wait to play with the longer focal lengths! Just need the adapters to e-mount.
For NFL work they have an Amira user setup that they provide and I load it on my camera before every season. I usually just tweak the focus peaking settings prior to each season.
I found a couple on eBay. Check this one out... www.ebay.com/itm/Canon-FD-400mm-f-2-8-PL-Mount-Cine-Lens-PL-Vintage-For-Full-Frame-Cinema-Camera/133587251383?hash=item1f1a6bb0b7:g:GiMAAOSw53FfnxTi
@@FunkyPigeon369 I love it. It can cover full frame sensors. I find it challenging and fun to shoot sports with. Here is a sample. Shot one is with a 2x extender attached. Shot two is with no extender. instagram.com/tv/CHXBEwcApOo/?igshid=ny150mm7zwi8
Might be a simple question, could you talk about the auto focus on the camera? It seems like the autofocus is really clear while following a football in mid air into a players hands..
Dude that Tokina lens is my favorite! Compact and dope!
I love the way you describe shooting football with a long lens.
This channel goes to show if you provide value, you will grow on this platform.
Appreciate the support.
That Canon lens - legendary! Nice work, mate! Enjoyed that heaps.
What an awesome video and channel!!

I took a new job up in Seattle so I’ve been busy relocating and getting settled in my new role
@@DomTheDPYour episodes rock, much appreciated!
Hi Dom! Great content. Are there some specific camera settings you look at before shooting a football game?

Hey man, great video, looking at that 400mm FD, any chance you could go into more depth about it? Thanks!

@@DomTheDP thanks so much! How is it? How does it compare to other lenses in terms of sharpness, CA etc?

Hey Dom! Who makes that hi hat? I love how the base is all connected vs having legs like the ones I’ve found online.
It’s made by a company called “e-image”. 75mm/100mm bowl hi-hat. I think they’ve discontinued the one I own, but I’m sure they’ve updated the design.

Rj Garcia high end cinema video cameras don’t have any reliable autofocus. Most sports video shooters pull the focus manually. Idk how they do it !
Thanks for the question RJ. I featured your question in episode 5 that premieres tonight at 7pm PST
🤩
How's that b4 lens on there? Sharp? Depth of field? Cause, that could be like THE lens you use.
The B4 glass is perfect for covering football. I just upgraded to the newer Fujinon 24x UHD 2/3" lens to pair with my Amira.
