The kindness of a strangers. Why can't everyone get along and help each other.
Sir your area very kind. Especially to take time to personally answer individual questions.
😂 you helped me show my husband up. He told us a air compressor on my daughter's car. He swore this was a waste of money and you were sending us (daughter and me) on a goose chase.
Bam showed him who was goin on a chase. He apologizes and says will never doubt me again
lol yeah good job!!!! 👍 glad u took the time to!!!! I have tons of videos on this five small stuff bulbs light brake light bulbs fuses all good help!!
I been out without A/C for almost a year, went to a mechanic got quoted for 1,100 because (compressor was bad) i go on youtube and see your video amd did what exactly what you did and now my A/C is working 100%! Thank you brother you saved me 1,100 and only spent $9
Hell yeah brother !!!! I’m glad u found this video!!!!!
was the issue just the relay for you?
@@daM00SEisL00SE yup this is very common issue
So could you pull the fog light relay and put it in the ac spot to try to diagnose before buying a new relay even tho there like 10$
Awesome
I fixed my a/c doing exactly as he said. 2008 Honda Civic. Changed the fuse and took the Relay out and took it to Autozone for new part. It was a $16 part. As soon as I pulled away I had air again. I am a girl. I have no mechanical skill but this was super easy. Thank you so so so much for making this video. Someone would have charged me a lot for such a easy fix. $16 dollars. Woo hooo!
Good job!!! Great fix and saved hell of money ... they would had changed ur ac compressor and charge $1000 well good fix!!!

Auto shop quoted me $1200 saying I had a broken compressor. Did this for $10 and it worked!! Thank you!
Glad it helped!! Good job
YES!! You just made my day. It's like 90 degrees out + I couldn't take no a/c anymore. So I was about to take it in to a shop to get fixed when I saw your video. Blammo! The a/c condenser fuse was dead. After a quick replacement -- it WORKS! Thanks so much. From yet another girl who doesn't mind getting my hands dirty now + then.
Nice job!!! You did good! Easy quick fix!!!
Man, my AC stopped working on my car about 3 weeks ago out of no where and I was not trying to take it in only to get told I had a faulty compressor or leak. Saw your video and literally replaced fuse (not it) and then went to O’reillys, 10 bucks later popped that AC compressor relay in and voila! AC kicked on! Thanks man, def helped save some big money and kept it straight forward. Appreciate it!
Nice job I’m glad u took the time and did this by ur self!!! Great fix !!!
After a long winter, my a/c of the same model car in the video stopped cooling when we had a 2 day heat wave. I first suspected coolant leak or loss coolant, but the dial readings look ok as it held pressure. Then, it might be more serious when I needed to review anything that moved. So it was either the two things mentioned, the clutch or something serious. Thankfully this video saved me grief and it was just the two things in the electrical box to replace. So the lesson for me is to learn to rule out problems better systematically. This guy made my day and we are having a much more pleasant mother's day. Now I have some extra coolant and leak sealer for next time.
Nice glad u found my video !! Happy Mother’s Day!!!
@@RBTheMechanic I want to do a video of a quirky Dodge Caravan Evap leak also, but my father already took out the solenoid and fixed it before I had a chance to film anything. The check engine code was misleading. I ended up replacing the solenoid even though a ton of videos suggest the metering pump was at fault. I took a wild guess since that was the only other moving part because we had no fume leaks. The engineers don't make it easy and some repairs would've given mechanics a bad rep because it's just so difficult to diagnose.
I've had no A/C for over two years. This video fixed my problem in 5 minutes. Bravo brother thank you so much!!!
Nice job!!!!! But some 2 years no ac that’s brutal anyways food job tackling this yourself!!
Where did you get the relay, he didn't mention where you got it
@@jasonmuniz3539 if you have the old one take with you to an auto store and ask them if they have the same one or if can order it for you. Also check your a/c charge. I had to charge mine so it might have not even been the fuse
@@tonycordovatc thank you bro!
Lol I'm dieing after 3 days
Thank you!! i'm a grown woman and this helped out sooo much! i tried what you showed here and nothing, but then i remembered i had taken cabin filter and air filter out to clean them a week or so ago and i must have touched the blower wheel and prevented it from moving?? but i also pulled the fuse and the relay fuse and re-inserted them and this morning began with the vents and they are now blowing air out and the air is coold!!! so a combination of my efforts yesterday and watching videos last evening gave me an incentive to retry today and it worked right away! Thank you!!!
Oh good job as I read ur message it got me worried u did this and that but at end it worked good job!!
@@RBTheMechanic well.... tried it again later in the afternoon....and warm/cool air; i did purchase a new relay fuse this evening, but didn't change anything. a friend wrote me that he thinks it just might need a recharge. that's a fresh bit of Freon, correct? i hope that's all. will let you know come next Wed evening, as my appt for an oil change and them to check the ac system is on Wed the 7th of Sept.
My sons AC went out today. Gave this video a run and nine dollars later he's up and running. Thanks, great advice
Nice job!!!!
Man, you are amazing. I have been driving my car for past one w/o cooling. Everyone was quoting me $500-600 to fix it. I just changed the relay as you suggested, Boom 💥 it worked. Can’t be more thankful! 🙏🏼
I’m grad you took the time to do this!!!! Well done!!! It’s
Common problem on most honda Acura’s and Toyota!! I get like 100 of these every summer I usually charge diagnostic $89 and $11 for new new relay

Should've found this video 1.5 years ago, thank you!
Yeah always good
To know even if it’s late this is common issue will occur again and again
You helped me out so much man! Cant thank you enough. My AC would blow cold but it would take 15 minutes for it to kick in. It was so weird. I even changed the fans, everything. Cost me a crap ton. This was all I needed! Much love from TX!
Oh wow but I’m glad u found my video so at end it’s fixed I always say check the basics!!! Good job!!
Thanks buddy! You have saved your followers all combined; more than $1 million!! Bravo

This video just saved my life 😂My 2010 Honda civic was blowing hot air instead of cold air for the past year and half. Came across this video then bought the part off rockauto for $12.42 and now my ac is working again. I even tried the AC pro last summer and it didn’t work. Thank you so much!!!
Nice job!!! Glad u figured this out with this video!!! By the way I never recommend the ac pro stuff it’s destroys the system if u over charge it
Headed to autozone right now to try This for myself I also have a 2010 Honda Civic...
Man i went last summer without ac. I wasnt trying to do that again! This video saved me! The plug where the wires connected was having a bad connection. I unplugged it, cleaned it and put some bulb grease in there. Boom, worked like brand new. Thanks a million bro!
Which plug? But Nice good job!!!
The wires that you said to check. There is a connector there. I guess it goes to the ac unit to turn it on or off
Pure genius thank you so much that fixed the AC somehow the fuses got mixed up
I am not very mechanically minded unfortunately, but thanks to this video I could fix the aircon all by myself for under $15. Thank you so much.
Good job!!!
Great video RB, you covered most all possibilities, Thanks, keep up the good work.
Yup thank you!! This video was worth it helped lot of people ladies girl woman’s single mom all messed me how this worked for them!! And they had no ac for years
I appreciate you putting out this video. Yesterday I went out on my jet ski on the lake and my 2007 Honda Civic had ice Cold Air coming back from the lake until it just went hot. I was thinking it had to be something like this but not until your video did I know where to look. I figured if it was a leak it would change temperature slowly and this was just like night and day cold air was gone. Make a long story short my relay was a little bit more expensive at $14.99 but it took care of what would have been I'm sure an expensive problem. Thank you I know you saved me a lot of money not sure exactly how much because I didn't take it anywhere. I had no idea how to take the relay out so your video was very informative with that as well
Yeah
Yup where u live ? It’s cold out here in my area

Just got A/C again!!! Thanks Brotha! 👊🏾🙏🏾
Nice job!!! Glad this resolved you ac issue!!!
Thank you! You explain perfectly!!!
Went to a mechanic today.
"Reputable" repair shop, 7 years in business.
The mechanic recharged my AC system, looked, and said: "eeeeh, the AC compressor internally failed, so because it internally failed, you need a whole system replacement, with labor $1990". My car is 2006 year made and a salvage title with lots of cosmetic issues.
The answer was this little $10 relay, got it tested with a 9V battery and a multimeter. Appeared faulty. Almost 200 times difference in price on what they quoted and what I paid to fix the actual issue.
This mechanic guy will be receiving a _killer_ review in the upcoming days.
Hell yeah bro tag my video #rbthemechanic so they get piece of me also!!!! Glad u found the issue and fixed it quick and easy

I don’t think so? Just new Condenser (Leaking) & Labor=$800. I will find out Monday Morning! They probably didn’t even check the coolant? Fans or at least one fan works? Always did. It was the cool air that would stop after a while. Like a few people here said it seemed on the highway fine then slowing down it would blow out regular air/not cool.

If the AC light turns on after pressing the button on the dashboard, could the issue still be related to the relay ?

I have a Honda Civic ex 2017. Last night my AC was working fine. Today I start the car and there's no air blowing at all. Not even if I put the heat on or cool. I opened the hood and I noticed the fan behind the condenser is not moving at all. Could this be a relay problem as well?

Great video, I have a 2010 Honda civc ex-l sedan. Every one of your to do's seems to be working fine. Air conditioner will blow sometimes cool, for a couple minutes, then just starts blowing hot air! Checked the low end value with a cheap gauge and says freon level is in the green. Any ideas? Thanks Drew
Well swap out the relay just for the heck of it … it could be fault intermittently other wise don’t be fooled by the pressure reading it can be hot air pressure if the relay don’t work then do ac service using ac machine recover vaccum and then recharge with correct amount oil and r134
@Drew B did you follow @RB The Mechanic’s advice. My 2010 civic is having the same issues with the A/C. It blows cool for a while then it gets hot. In Texas heat driving around like that is brutal.
Watch this video. A little more troubleshooting involved and it might help you @Drew B

Hola Love your video and thanks but my ac just stopped out of nowhere and I replaced the relays and fuses, fans or compressor did not kick on until I added a can of freon but the air was still not cold. I turned the honda off did a self diagnostic test got no flashes but when I turned car on the fans and compressor stopped any ideas of what to do next?
U might have to do full ac service with ac machine and then try to see how it reacts
“When installing fuses, be sure not to use your left but your alright hand.”
Ok lol

My ac does get cool or warm , only puts out air that's coming from the outside. I'm not sure if it's the relay, but I'll try and replace it , thanks alot bro 😊
Yeah check it swap it
I also hear that a bad ac relay or a bad MG clutch fuse can have vampiric power drain on your Civic when the car is off.
Yes
I have the same issue but before it stopped working, the ac was running non stop and the ac line had ice built up all over it. Not sure if that’s a clog some where or the relay.
Ok that’s somthing else not relay try reserving the systym I had issue like that where compressor ram all times wait yes it could be stuck relay anways start from swaping relay
Also don’t forget about air blower fan They tend to go out
Yup
Quick question, I did what you exactly showed on the video like replacing the fuse(exact one) then the relay but what happened was it messed with my idling and blowing hot/cold air. I decided to unplug the battery( negative 1st) to reset and it was working properly but now the dash that shows cold/hot engine lights are gone and just showing the blocks also compressor is working fine. Any advise how I can fix it? Thanks
U sure u took out the correct fuse and was the key on when u did this? Recheck fuses and relays
Engine was off when I made the change and yes it was the correct relay.
@@localwaifu9794 it shouldn’t have cause this type of issue. Try checking all other fuses
Ok.thanks
Hello, there sir. I know there are quite a few reasons why my 2006 Honda Civic Coupe's AC doesn't work. However, I still remember a clue on the day the AC on my car stopped working. There was a "deflating tire sound" coming from the front part of the car. I'm guessing that something ruptured in some part of the engine. The car drives perfectly though it lacks AC. Hope I can get some helpful input.
The noise could be the clutch is burned out on ac compressor but how ever start with check ac pressure a sign that u got pressure win the system is if u put ac on and both radiator fans come on that’s indication that system got pressure and works now u need to check fuse relay and power to ac compressor if the compressor dosent come on
I love your content, do you know where flasher relay is located? THX
On this car it’s like up behind cluster guages
Thank u bro!!

Why is my 2003 Honda civic running hot)?
@@lauriedavis3333 ac blowing hot ? Or engine over heats?
Can it be a relay issue if the AC light on the dash comes on, but it is not blowing cold air ?

Do you have to pull out fuse to install new relay? Other videos I have seen did not include this step. Thank you.
No engine off and key out that’s it and swap the relay
Will condenser still spin if relay is bad or does that just mean that AC needs a recharge?@@RBTheMechanic
I’ve got a 2007 civic and the fans kick on when turning ac on but only got the compressor to kick on a couple times thinking it was low on Freon. Had that serviced and still not getting it to kick on. If it’s worked a couple times for short amounts of times could the relay be going bad? or is it either good or bad and no in between?
It could be a bad relay I just did a car accord 2015 compressor kicked on for 1 seconds only and then if u turn off and wait few minutes turn it back on it kicked for a second anyways relay was the issue worth the try
I have a 2000 Mercury Villager minivan
I just refilled 3 cans of Freon and i only get cold air in the background but not in the front.. Any suggestions why i don't get cold air in the front? The fan works on all 1 2 3 and four speeds. I just don't get cold air in the front vents
