duong nguyen u know what grinds my gears ahahahha
was just going to post the same...got a good laugh
He’s probably used to the new push to start lol
Found the secret kers button
You can program the fob on your own.
ENTER the vehicle and CLOSE all doors. (Each of the following steps must be completed within five seconds of one another. If you take longer than five seconds between steps or make a mistake, you must start the entire procedure over.)
INSERT the key into the Ignition, HOLD one remote in your left hand with additional remotes close by.
PERFORM each of the next three (3) steps in order, then repeat all three (3) steps two (2) more times for a total of three (3) times each.
TURN the Ignition to the ON position, marked “II” on the Ignition.
PRESS the LOCK button on the remote for approximately 1 second. (Say “Mississippi”)
TURN the Ignition to the OFF position, marked “I” on the Ignition. (REPEAT Steps 4-6 three (3) times)
TURN the Ignition switch to the ON position, marked “II” on the Ignition.
PRESS the LOCK button on the same remote. The door locks should cycle indicating the vehicle has ENTERED Programming Mode.
PRESS the LOCK button again on the same remote. The door locks should cycle again indicating the vehicle has successfully PROGRAMMED that remote.
For programming additional remotes to your vehicle, REPEAT Step 9 with each additional remote one after another. Step 9 must be completed within ten (10) seconds for each additional remote. You may program up to three (3) remotes to your vehicle.
TURN the ignition to OFF.
Test all remotes. Programming is now complete.
After successful programming, if your remote has a TRUNK RELEASE Button - you will need to hold that button down for 5-10 seconds for that function to begin operation.
If these programming instructions helped save you time and money, please consider sharing our website with friends and family so they can do the same.
Procedure #2 - Dealer Installed Keyless Entry Systems
Step-by-Step How To Programming Instructions:
TURN Ignition to the ON (II) position. (ON is the position just shy of starting the vehicle without cranking the engine.)
PRESS and HOLD the Valet/Disarm Button located between the AM/FM and CD/TAPE Buttons. The vehicle will respond by cycling the door locks, indicating the vehicle is now in Programming Mode. (Continue to hold the Valet/Disarm Button until instructed to release.)
Within five (5) seconds, PRESS the LOCK or UNLOCK Button on the remote. The vehicle will respond by cycling the door locks, indicating successful programming of that remote.
Within ten (10) seconds, REPEAT Step 3 to program any additional remotes.
RELEASE the Valet/Disarm Button to EXIT Programming Mode.
Test all remotes. Programming is now complete.
You have this saved lol.
Samuel Mancia Definitely. I've had to do it. A brand new OEM fob comes with these instructions.
@SpeedAcademy
Thank you! Will try this ASAP
Bought a 1988 MR2 yesterday for $675. Pulled it out of the weeds and drove it two hours home with no issues. Can't wait to get working on it more
Now you just need to change all the other locks!
When technology attacks, Speed Academy strikes back and gets it done! This is going to be a truly Badass 2000! Can't wait till you guys rip that TEC!
Install mesh in the grille to keep debris out of your coolers. Simply vacuum it all out of the mesh every once in a while. Been doing this for years on every car I have ever tracked, works great. Never had a damaged rad / cooler or condenser.
Old school Speed Academy! S2000 FTW. Can’t wait to see it demolish everything at the track. Time attack series maybe?
Glad to see the Badass2000 back in action! Motivation to continue my build
You should be able to program the fob without going to the dealer. Directions should be a google search away.
Love this channel!!!
It feels like it's been forever since you guys have gone to the track! I'm glad you didn't sell this car like you were talking about, though. I've always felt like it should be a benchmark for your other builds.
yea especially because it is a very competitive chassis even with little mods
Can’t wait to see the badass s2000 ripping some Tek!!
Recently discovered your channel.. it's informative and humorous at the same time.
I still miss the itb's from the badass 2000 motor.
Haha oops, yes you should clean those bugs and road crap out before a track day boys. Even though they're on the A/C condenser, they'll restrict flow through all of your other coolers too since it screws up the pressure differential (in front - behind the coolers). Same reason race cars must come in for a clean up when they get grass in the grille. As my last girlfriend said, every little bit counts.
You could probably still use low pressure water to clean them out while fully ASSembled (high pressure will bend fins). Warm water would help, maybe diluted dish soap right before you spray to soak' em first. Do it on PT's side of the shop obviously. Keep them coming gents, it should be a fun summer.
You can also take the ring of and stick the right key in it, use some tape to secure it and keep the original key to unlock and start the car. No anti-theft after that tho.
Yeees!! Glad to see the s2000 back!! Bring on the track videos!!
Oh btw, to program the fob, just shut the doors with the car unlocked, turn the key on and hit the lock button on the remote then turn the car off, do this 3 times and you should hear the locks cycle then cycle them with the remote with the car OFF and the remote should be programmed.
Those splines are pretty fine but if your off a tooth the steering wheel will be one way or the other by a few degrees and you can slide it back off and adjust as needed. That srs clock spring can’t be turned to much one way or the other or you will damage the ribbon wire. There is typically arrows which indicate a neutral position.
When swapping columns the closest you can get is to place painters tape on the column cover and steering wheel then make a line across them. You'll still need an alignment after, there's really no avoiding it. If you were just disconnecting for service and placing the original column in you could get away without aligning but the steering wheel is likely to come out off center after this.
To program the S2000 Key Fob:
Close doors, hood, trunk.
1. Ignition ON.
2. Within 1-4 secs. push lock or unlock while aiming the remote at the receiver.
3. Within 1-4 secs, turn OFF ignition.
4. Within 1-4 secs, turn ON ign.
5. Within 1-4 secs, repeat (2.)
6. Within 1-4 secs, turn OFF ign.
7. Within 4 secs, turn ON ign.
8. Within 1-4 secs, repeat (2.)
9. Within 1-4 secs, turn OFF ign.
10. Within 4 secs, turn ON ign.
11. Within 1-4 secs, repeat (2.)
12. Confirm that you hear the door lock actuators. Within 1-4 secs, push the transmitter lock or unlock button again. The keyless receiver is now in the program mode. You must push the transmitter lock or unlock button of the first transmitter again to program that remote.
13. Within 10 secs, aim the transmitters (up to three) whose codes you want to store at the receiver, and press the transmitter lock or unlock buttons. Confirm that you can hear the sound of the door lock actuators after each transmitter code is stored.
14. Turn ign. OFF, and pull out the key.
15. Confirm the operation of the new codes.
Good stuff, guys! That CSF oil cooler should be a nice upgrade.
Can’t wait for the track battles
Thank goodness she's back up and running. Keep those ITBs far away from this setup. Get a Hondata Flashpro on there and gain a good bit of mid-range torque by lowering the VTEC-engagement and tuning it; it also gets rid of that VTEC-kick as well thankfully.
I see that Chrisfix t-shirt PT! I would love to see a collab one day!
Another episode well done, as always.
I always appreciate these videos
Looks like that button is only for start
i'd wrap those oil lines to prevent the steel braiding become frayed.
Dont use OE Honda MTF, Use thicker aftermarket fluid, the OE stuff heats up and it becomes really thin, and you grind gears.
I use Amsoil on my s2k after getting grinds. Solved my issues.
BrianTakesPhotos yes that or Torco RTF is great too.
its not about how thick it is.. its about quality and specs... ofc use that OE MTF. The same with oils.. not about the number, its about how it can keep the specs at given temp.
LeeRock 27 it’s good shit!
I had really good luck with Shockproof heavy weight in my R32 GTR, do you have any input on that gear oil for an S2K? I just picked up an AP1 and have a decent grind going into 2nd after the trans warms up.
That place that your putting the zip tie to hold the oil cooler line and that other metal line (I’m not sure what that is, power steering, a/c) anyways idk if y’all did I didn’t see but it would be a good idea to put something in between the two so you don’t get a hole rubbed in them. I did that on my s13 with my metal lines going to the fuel rail on the side of the intake (ka24e) the bracket wasn’t tightened all the way and rubbed a hole it in it causing it to run lean and kill itself before I knew what happened :/....good luck guys keep up the good work!!
all you need to do is get a new key that is coded for that ecu. any lock smith should be able to do it. i recently did the same thing when i swapped ecus on my is300. could be different on an s2k but thats what i did
I have finally finished this s2k series!! Im ready for this car to be back at the track! I didnt know csf sells oil coolers! Ima look one up for my evo!
I use motul oil
It's the best
Zip tie plus oil cooler line = melted zip tie and no more support on line. I uses the same cooler and same lines. Been through this. Use steel wire. Preferably galvanized .
Love the S2000 content! Keep up the good work guys.
With those old s2k fobs a lot of them go through the radio. If you don’t have keyless in it before you won’t be able to program it now. It’s not an ecu thing.
God I just love this car, it looks so good. I will be sad when ya'll get rid of it.
Y'all are One of the best automotive channels. Nice Vid!
Will you guys also be swapping out the door/trunk/glove compartment/etc key holes to match the ignition key now? That way you won’t need 2 different keys for 1 car
Yay BAs2k is ready to play!! Great video guys
Nice Chris Fix shirt!
supercharger + s2000
HKS GT SUPERCHARGER!!!
Definitely feel like supercharger is the way to go here!
I'm no supercharging expert, but high rpm and an extra belt is a crap combo by itself. Superchargers aren't great for top end power, and s2000's should live up there. You rarely see a supercharged race car (think prototype style race cars - all twin turbo).
I like a turbo s2k power curve better, especially as you increase the boost... But who does that.
Should also swap out the center consol and door panels. Ap2s have nicer ones imo
You'll need to change out your door lock cylinders and trunk lock cylinder as well.... otherwise you'll need to carry two keys for the car. Also, programming the remote shouldn't be too hard. Check online... you should be able to do it yourself. I think most Hondas are easy to reprogram the remote.
Pete's face when he he hit the start button to turn off the car LMAO
haha, I was so used to the brz with it's on and off button. I have done the same thing in my s2k.
You guys should definitely do a pimp-my-ride crossover with Jordan Peterson, that's be so awesome to see him tearing up the track in a K20 Civic, he's a Toronto lad as well, so should be easy
We're young again"!
i hope you guys swapped the door locks and trunk lock cylenders over from the smashed2000 to the badass2000
Ya'll should do a collaboration with the "Straight Pipes".
You have to try again with the itbs people, just not yet. Enjoy the car as it is, and then, maybe in 6 months or a year, get the courage to put them on again.
Oh yeah! Can't wait for it to rip on TMP
Are you going to put on the ITB's again?
Nice! To see the ass... I mean badass2k back in action!
Change all the locks now since the keys don't match!
Are you guys going to grid life at gingerman in oct? Id love you see u there
Chris Fix tshirt (y)
Time for the kraftworks supercharger!
Where is Moose?
Power washing/cleaning the condenser and radiator is recommended. It can make a huge difference in performance. (not sure how your rad looks tho)
It sure does, ac condenser is damn hot in 30c+ weather. And the airflow over the radiator is way worse to.
Yeah you're probably right. Having the fins all clean will get a much better/cleaner flow through the setup. I know this is a common issue with trucks that does loads of mileage. The radiator/gearbox cooler gets clogged up with bugs and stuff starts to overheat
you could of just drove it to a honda dealer then swapped the ecu in the parking lot then had them program the keys to the ecu and imobi system.
how did you guys( "PT") mount the cr rep lip? Did you drill holes in the bumper and use the oem mounting hardware?
5:11 Like DP has not smoked that shop out before, and now it is legal in Canada!
klax0421 not for a few months actually
Need an update on the Kswap 240
Rippin tech!
The AP2 ecu might give the correct rev limit, but what about the tacho in the dash? Swapped that over too?
How do you guys currently lock an unlock the car, still using the AP1 key? Could you guys just swap over the trunk and doors from the donor car and then use key fob?
How come you guys didn't change over the tachometer from the ap2 as well?
RIP ! Some Tec!!!
@Speed Academy this link below shows you how to reprogram those FOB's
northcoastkeyless.com/2003-honda-s2000-keyless-entry-remote-fob-programming-instructions/
How come you guys aren’t using the AEM infinity ecu?
Wonder why they didn’t just get the same oil cooler that they had.
Yoooo guy.
What's with the shirt
I may have missed it in a previous episode, but what happened to the AEM infinity the BADASS2000 was running?
May I have the part number of the oil cooler plus the adapters part numbers? Thanks guys really appreciate your effort on s2000.
Ready for some TEC RIPPIN.
How can I acquire one of those front splitter? They look beautiful
Kevin @ C3 Carbon Composites can make it for you
Hey guys, can I ask where you bought your CR lip from?
where’s the k swap 240
Air conditioned race car? Is that why your last one blew up?
Couldn't you just swap the chip inside the ap2 key over to the old one?
hey guys where did you get that valvoline oil??
So if you swap the engine in to another car let say em2 you will have to swap the whole column for the key??
Surprised Honda doesn't have a little bit of intelligence in the ECM to disable the starter when the engine is running! And you're going to be racing that thing... RIGHT? That means a LOT of rough ride for that oil cooler... make another bracket for it!! Why cut short on something so important? With the belly all covered, where does all of the engine hot air exit?
Frs vs badass2000 track battle pls!
Please bring back the itb's :'(
Did you guys decide the aem v2 is better than the itb's?
I’m a super fan of speed academy but this video is like backwards. Early AP2 owners put AP1 ECU to rev higher but more than rev higher the next gear is closer to the power band.
Just because everyone is doing it doesn't mean its safe. Revving an F22 to 9000RPM is going to spin a bearing eventually especially since we use this on track. There's a reason why Honda set an 8000RPM rev limit on it right? Furthermore, most people that leave the AP1 ECU only rev the engine out to 8500RPM so they are their own rev limiter meaning if they don't time it perfectly then the engine over revs, again not what we want to be doing on a race track.
Speed Academy I agree with you guys. I’m been running stock AP1 drivetrain at the track for the past 8 years. Better safe than sorry. I just caught my attention all the trouble to make it happen. Didn’t you guys ran an AEM ecu? Maybe it was just a breeze for Pete since he’s mechanically incline. You can also swap the immobilizer from inside the ecu. That’s another way to do it if your are an electronic guy.
What wheels you got on this? I like them
Could have just swapped over the key lock cylinder and the key.
Si we ignoring the K 240sx? Ok!👍🏽
will you ever do a k20 s2k?
I advise you guys to get a water filter sock for your cold air filter and also advise you guys to send me one too😂🤙🏻
Take the s2k to hoonigans 🤓
you selling that old ap1 column?
nice
What are the size of the tires on this bad boy?
where's the k-swapped 240 vids?
So are the ITB's ever going back on?
