    What a great transformation! Textured painting on a flat furniture surface is a great way to add subtle dimension. We love this look. So chic!

    Hey man if you know what handles you were using before you put the doors back on, you could lay the doors on top of each other lined up, (clamped if you have clamps) measure where needs drilling, and drill directly through both pieces of wood, when you take them apart the holes will be in the identical spots. And ready to reattach to your unit. Hope this makes sense worked for me!

    Great hack! I learnt and awesome trick for installing handles by making a template using cardboard from like an Amazon box or something. Basically you measure out how far you want your handle to be from the top and edge of your door and then measure out those same measurements onto your cardboard and then make the holes in the cardboard that way if it’s not exactly right you can change up the template until the handles fit perfectly. Then you line up your template with the top of your door/drawer and mark the place where you need to drill your holes, drill and you’re done 😊 Really wish I’d learnt this before I redid my kitchen and measured out every single handle on every single door. Their where 18 doors! 🤦🏼‍♀️ I will never get back those hours 🤣 loving your channel.

    for positioning the handles, make a template from card stock or cardboard.

      Thanks so much! I’m gonna be adding some handles to my kitchen cabinets this year so I’ll definitely try that out!

    Next time you do handles.. Just insert the mounting bolts into the handle. Then press them down on cardboard. They leave imprints of where the bolts holes are. Then cut the cardboard template out. Hold against the cabinet. Make your marks. Then drill the holes...

    Do the screws from the legs protrude through to the inside of the cabinet or no?

    • @joshmrivera
      @joshmrivera  2 года назад

      No they do not, they send the appropriate size screws based in the IKEA model you select. Hope that helps!

      @@joshmrivera hmmm I wonder if it depends on the type of legs. I used the slant legs and the unit just falls off

      Hmm I’m not sure 🤔 I did have to level it out a bit on the bottom with furniture pads but I think my floor may just not be perfectly level. But I’m sorry it didn’t work out for you! 😫

    Where’d you get the plant holder for the short plant?

    • @joshmrivera
      @joshmrivera  3 года назад

      One of the ones on the cabinet? The succulent pot is from my local garden supply store, and the pot for the vine plant is from Ikea! Hope that helps 😊

  • @hood3243

    LOL I'm sorry but you basically just made chalk paint 😂. Chalk paint is just water based latex paint with plaster of Paris mixed in.

    • @joshmrivera
      @joshmrivera  3 года назад

      Lol well, yes that’s actually the goal. The whole idea/trend is essentially DIYing your own sort of chalky textured paint with whatever kind of paint you already have
