Fuok Er I know. I love this movie, but I'm not saying it's fantastic in terms of quality. Although I must say, this film isn't straight up awful either. I think it's just mediocre/average when it comes to quality. Compared to some other superhero movies TASM isn't even that bad
When first wearing the Spider-Man costume Andrew Garfield admitted to shedding tears. During his breaks, Andrew Garfield went around New York playing basketball with kids in his Spider-Man outfit.
He stops searching for Ben's killer because of what Captain Stacy said at dinner, and when he saved the boy. He realized there were better ways to use his powers than get revenge.
I get it, but the movie doesn't do a good job portraying it. Like a single moment of him after everything went down looking at the killer sketch and throwing it away would've been enough to tell the audience that Peter is done with his search for revenge. Instead, they just don't mention it and it's forgotten. There's a reason for it, but it's not properly informed to the audience (many people when the ASM2 came out pointed out that they never really bothered to properly close the thread of his uncle's killer).
We can complain about that, but it is not the worst thing done to the character of Uncle Ben. The worst thing is how his death doesn’t have that impact the original one did and he brought it upon himself by trying to dive after the gun that the thief had. It was legitimately funny.
@@MrSeyker God you are clearly lying. There is a scene where Peter sits by himself thinking about everything after he saves the boy. That is the scene where it is clearly implied that he has moved on from his quest for revenge.
There were three amazing scenes from these two movies 1.the scene of him backing off the bullies and helping the kid 2.him encouraging pre electro guy 3.the car dangling scene of him giving the kid his mask to show that he can be as strong as him Now that’s Spider-Man and I love it
@@Emapten I think he means the scene in Times Square when he actually attempts to get Electro help and defuse the situation before that dumbass sniper makes the dumbass shot.
+Reggie Lovato He has two Oscar nominations for a reason. I personally have a soft spot for him because of Platoon. We'll conveniently ignore his two Razzie nominations for Body of Evidence and Speed 2 (although this gives the vibe that he was targeted because of being a big actor in panned films, not that he was bad in them).
@Reggie Lovato He gave a great performance, but aside from the strained relationship with Harry which wasn`t even as bad as it was in The Comics and one scene where he goes on a misogynistic rant(Norman was a huge misogynist in The Comics in part due to his vow to never get emotionally attached to a woman again after his wife Emily`s death which was partially his fault as he gave the doctor poor advice and in part due to his Social Darwinist mindset),he came off as Willem Dafoe playing Norman Osborn, not The Comic Book Character himself .Chris Cooper may have been older than Norman Osborn in The Comics and may not have had The Character`s trademark reddish-brown hair but in the one scene he had in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 he nailed The Character`s coldness and callousness towards his own son to perfection! "I never imagined I`d die like this, looking at my own son and seeing a stranger."The 2002 Spider-Man Film had the same problem as the 1981 and 1994 Animated Series,it tried to make Norman Osborn when he wasn`t The Green Goblin a sympathetic character when Norman Osborn is not supposed to be a sympathetic character. Even before he became The Green Goblin, Norman Osborn in The Comics was a cold-hearted Social Darwinist with criminal ambitions.
@@AspieMediaBobby Okay well I was only commenting on Dafoe's performance. Whether Norman Osborn is a misogynist or not is not really something I'm bothered by since he's a fictional character.
My favorite part in the film is when Irfan Khan mentions Peter’s father, “Richard Parker”, because he also is in Life of Pi and frequently mentions “Richard Parker”, the tiger. A small thing about this film that just added to me not being able to take it too seriously
"So you Don't want to talk ? *ROARS and shoots web into the lizard's mouth* "There you go" "DONT *Gets slammed into wall* MAKE ME *Gets slammed into wall* HURT YOU" *Shoots web into a locker and the lizard rips it into a blade* "Oh Boy" *gets thrown away by the lizard and still has his tail* "That's Disgusting"
LOL😂😅 They delivered by not telling the untold story and I didn't undersood it, haha, almost makes me feel bad for hating it so badly😂😅 The most hilarious part is how the untold plot about the parents is the worst thing of this awful remake.
What I loved about this movie is Peter’s character arc. He starts off as a jerk really and when he first becomes Spider-Man he’s seeking vengeance and doesn’t exactly know what it means to be a hero yet. Then when he saves the kid on the bridge he can finally call himself Spider-Man. That’s good stuff to me
I mean, it's not "disgraceful" to give a great actor a smaller role, even if he just vanishes in the film. Wasn't Max von Sydow in The Force Awakens for, like, two minutes?
Madhav Aditya Yeah, he just happens to be an Indian actor who's really good and gets a lot of roles. I don't live in India or watch too many films from India (though I'm always looking to widen my horizons with film), but I imagine it's the same there.
The thing is Max Von Sydow is seen getting his head chopped off in the village. 100% different than just vanishing like batman mid-film. I can't see how you got this confused. Chris wasn't making the point that he was wasted talent.
This movie felt like a bunch of disconnected scenes jumping in time and place, and when the villain finally appeared they ignored each other, just for more boring talking with aunt May.
I remember back when this movie came out and for the next number of years everybody was saying it was better than the original except for me, oh how the tables have turned
+William Brodersen Imho, Batman V Superman is far better but it's RT rating does not indicate that. While I don't think TASM 2 is completely terrible, I do think there are enough ridiculous things about it that a hilariosity review is warranted.
after hearing what you said about the movie, I just can't believe that Nostalgia Critic says the new spiderman films are better than the old. what was he thinking? so glad I'm a fan of Raimi's. they are much better than the new ones.
Right? I still can't beleave NC thinks that way. I mean, he likes what he likes, nothing wrong with that, but c'mon, Spiderman 2 is somehow inferior to the Webb films? Is almost like saying The Empire Strikes Back is inferior to The Phantom Meneace!
It's no huge favorite but The Amazing Spider-Man is a guilty pleasure for me. I can't help but like these action scenes in darkness. Spider-Man swinging around in buildings in daylight gets old after a while. I also became invested with Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker. This feels like a more realistic portrayal, and Peter's motivations worked for me here. There are other Spider-Man movies I like better; I agree ASM has some problems.
I never understood why people liked the scene with the car thief, it doesn't feel like I'm watching a young hero trying to do the right thing, it's more like watching an idiot dressed as a red and blue basketball bully someone.
Well you can't deny the ending scene of this film was great. The scene where Peter plays the voice recording of uncle ben. That was my favourite part of the film as it seems like something spiderman would do.
But in this origin, Uncle Ben gets shot after Peter tries to get chocolate milk. Chocolate milk represents the color brown - the exact color that the script was covered in when Sony shit it out.
The only good thing in the movie was the chemistry between Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy and Andrew Garfield's Spider-man, not Peter Parker. My opinion, so don't hate me.
What I like was also how we see Peter transform into Spider-Man. The Raimi films we're kind of like hey look, he's ripped, now he's doing back flips and now he's Spider-Man. This film feels like a more refined origin story.
I don't remember the movie very much, but didn't Peter tell Gwen about the antidote? Because he worked with Connors for a bit in Oscorp. Gwen doesn't make it, she only prepares an existing antidote. And Connors himself doesn't want to change people into lizards, it is the lizard in him that does it, remember Peter asking Connors "what if the newly added organism takes control?". But yeah it is a bit thin overall. I enjoyed this movie but everything happened too fast so I prefer Sam Raimi's movies.
Im glad you agree with me, I didnt like this movie. Bad costume, bad Peter Parker, bad story, bad villan, bad ending, damn..... Spiderman 3 is a Godfather to this movie
+Ivan Miloš The Godfather movie is dull, has absolutely unlikable, unjustifiable characters, and boring cinematography. Or, was that not what you had in mind?
+Ivan Miloš I dunno. Spider-Man 3 wasn't _that_ bad. Yeah, it was kind of a mess, but compared to other terrible movies I've seen, I can't hate it. That dance scene alone makes it worthwhile.
I honestly think Venom is the worst developed villain, never have I've ever seen a more cheesy and annoying Spider-Man villain, at least Kurt Conner has a really good talk scene with Peter about his father when Peter visited his house.
I cannot believe how badly they botched Venom in 3. Here's a little backstory on Eddie Brock. Believe it or not, he has one of the saddest backstories in comic book history. Eddie Brock was someone who ran into a stream of bad luck. He was far from perfect, but he wasn't a bad person. His bad luck begins when a man claiming to be the Sin Eater contacts him. However, when Brock writes an exposé on this guy, it doesn't take long for Spider-Man to capture the real Sin Eater, resulting in Brock being fired in disgrace. He didn't lie. He was just given bad information and suffered for it. He was a victim of circumstance. Soon after, Eddie's wife divorced him, his father cut all ties with him, and he had to work for tabloid magazines in shame. He blames Spider-Man for capturing the real Sin Eater, but this was merely a way to help him cope with his severe depression, and when he started to feel good about himself, when he started weightlifting and getting in shape, when he started to take back his life, he found out he had cancer. Eddie was contemplating suicide at this point, but this led to him going to a church and ultimately begging God for forgiveness. But of course, this was the same time that Spider-Man was removing the symbiote and it didn't take long for the alien lifeform to find its way to Eddie. Feeling rejected, the symbiote sought revenge on Spider-Man through Eddie Brock, and Brock's coping mechanism of blaming Spider-Man became something very literal. The symbiote was a way for Eddie to take back his life after everything he went through. There was meaning behind Venom. There was meaning behind the bond Eddie shared with the symbiote. It turned someone powerless and on the verge of suicide into a strong warrior, and he called himself Venom because that was what he was forced to spew out to the public at the time. That, my friends, is Venom. How does the film handle this character? He fakes a picture of Spider-Man robbing a bank and gets fired for it. He blames Peter not only for that, but for stealing a woman, Gwen Stacy, who wasn't even his. He talks about her as if he wants to marry her but isn't even in a relationship with her. Then, he goes to the church just like he did in the comics, and he asks God, I'm dead serious, to kill Peter.
I wish I could have liked this movie. Granted, I haven't seen it since it was in theaters, but I do remember that it was pretty boring. Say what you will about the Sam Raimi movies, but they had a sense of fun about them. The Amazing Spider-Man just felt way too bland and uninteresting! I don't think I was ever entertained by it as much as I wanted, which sucks, because I always had fun the Spider-Man movies (well, to an extent).
I agree. The Sam Raimi trilogy had its moments of over the top cheesiness but that's what endeared the films to me. The Amazing Spiderman films didn't have that and just fell flat and boring for me.
+Maester Mike That's funny because I remember having same feelings about first Sam Raimi's Spider-Man when I was kid. I remember seeing that movie and thinking that it was really boring and nothing has really happened there. After that I didn't really wanted to watch the next movies when they came out. On the other hand I really enjoyed the Amazing Spider-Man and despite its flaws seen it as a fun movie. I'm not saying that anyone should see it as I do, it is just interesting how people can have completely opposite reaction to something.
I don't even remember them mentioning Norman Osborn...That really seems like something I'd remember because I rewatched this movie like 20 something times!
Casino Royale, Star Trek 2009, Amazing Spiderman, Man of Steel.... These were all obviously inspired by the gritty origin style of Batman Begins..... Nolan must be thrilled
Jesuz Jr if you were really really into movies at the turn of the century you'd realize there weren't much reboots...sure there were some remakes but the source material wasn't reinvented so drastically. Before Batman Begins there were little to no reboots that went in different directions. Nolan focusing on the Batman origins and giving him a grounded gritty feel was the first of its kind especially after the Batman franchise had tanked with Batman and Robin. Just as James Bond had sorta tanked with Die Another Day, it was in need of a fresh gritty start - enter casino royale. Of course casino royale isn't exactly saying it was inspired by Batman Begins, but Begins began (no pun intended) this darker, character driven model that films like Casino Royale have followed since. Plus it doesn't take a genius to spot this - Begins came out in 2005 and Royale came out in 2006
Chris, you DON'T like the Amazing Spiderman movies AND your favorite Studio Gibli film is Princess Mononoke?!?!?!?! I have so much respect for you... :D
Because it isn’t true, you just ignored the reasoning. You remember the dinner scene? That’s when Peter realized he was using his abilities for selfish reasons and after that he saves a ton of people including a kid in a car that’s on fire and will fall into the ocean, that’s when he becomes Spider-Man.
@@theinvictussamaritan4778 Not really, the scene where he realizes he should become Spider-Man for good is the bridge scene, before that, he was still a guy hellbent on revenge. There should have been some sort of closure to that subplot. A confrontation scene or something like that.
Theres actually an alternate ending to The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Where we somehow get to see Peter’s Dad (turns out he survived the plane crash) and says after talking to Peter in a cemetery “with great power comes great responsibility”.
Lets see my thoughts on all spider-man movie 1st Raimi Spidey: Good 2nd Raimi Spidey: Masterpiece 3rd Raimi Spidey: Okay 1st Webb Spidey: Okay 2nd Webb Spidey: Boo
Went to this movie on the first date with my (now) fiance. We still wonder to this day why we liked it. Probably because we weren't paying attention to it.
i have no problem with people not liking Andrew Garfield's portrayal. My problem is that it's the SAME people who love Tom Holland's. Andrew Garfield is too good-looking and not nerdy or shy enough? Well, look at Tom Holland. Good-looking, cool-acting guy; yet everyone loved it. Boohoo this movie has such a lazy and tired way of getting around saying "With great power comes great responsability". Then, Civil War comes around and does the exact same thing with TH's "if you have my powers and something bad happens, it's your fault" and everyone loses their minds because it's so great.
Just here's the problem with what you're saying. Tom was not cool acting. He WAS an actual nerd. He was picked on for believable reasons. Then we have Garfield, twilight hair, smooth talking, and not afraid to stand up to bullies even without his powers... none of that says Peter Parker to me. I don't blame Andrew though, with some actually decent writing he could've been a great Spidey, but he wasn't due to the horrendous writing of the TASM series. Also in civil war it was never confirmed or denied whether Uncle Ben said that or not. Peter was probably just paraphrasing.
_UNITAS Andrew showed the intelligence peter parker should show.... He was mainly picked on cause he was an outcast... he stutter and doesn't talk to girls well, even when that one hoe asked if he could take a photo of her boyfriends car... Both his parents died, that shit traumatizes people for the rest of their lives, u can see why he doesn't act normal... Btw I give every single spiderman movie a 10/10, even spider 3... All movies have their flaws and pros... Idk which actor I like the most cause they all have a good part in a way... Tobey was a loser, Andrew was a scientific intellectual, and Tom was a childish... All good signs of peter
There are some things i did agree with chris stuck man. Like how peter abandoned his mission on capturing uncle Ben's murder. But for the most part this movie is great. Hes not a good critic.. and this movie is good
Ivan Espinoza Go and screw yourself, he is a good critic regardless of your opinion. Looking at the whole movie, it has very noticeable plot holes and has probably one of the worst portrayed villains in a comic book film. Also, Uncle Ben's death didn't feel emotional at all and that is because he tries to stop the robber, which ended in his death.
Here's how I would've explained why Lizard turns evil: After Doctor Connors uses the lizard syrum to grow his arm back and it goes wrong and he turns into lizard, he decides he will try and help people, assuming they will accept him, he goes out to look for someone to help and while he's crossing the street a car drives towards him and before it hits the lizard, he uses his claw to stop the car and people start screaming and calling the cops. The police arrive and the lizard apologizes to them and tries to convince he didn't mean to cause harm. The police don't seem to believe him since, well, he's a giant talking lizard. The lizard tries to walk closer to a police offer to tell him he's not bad when that police officer shoots him in fear and the rest of the cops shoot at him, Lizard yells that he's not bad and that he's trying to help. Meanwhile the police shoot at him he gets enraged and tries to stop them by using his tail to knock them down. The lizard then realizes that people won't accept him. So he says "If they wont accept me, they'll learn to accept me. They'll learm to accept me once they know how it feels to be like me" This will pretty much explain why he plans to turn others into lizards. Just a little something I think could've helped explain why Lizard suddenly turns bad. Feel free to add or leave your thoughts
I've not seen any of the Amazing Spider-Man movies. But from this review, it sounds like they wanted to capitalise on the dark, gritty success of Nolan's Batman films, but with a teenage character at the centre of everything.
Good point about Garfield's Spider-man being a creeper when he photographs Gwen. At least Maguire's Spider-man asked Mary Jane's permission to photograph her, which is far more in line with Peter's character.
+Pushon Bhattacharya Wait, taking pictures of girls from afar without their knowledge qualifies as creeping? I need to reevaluate my life. In case you don't know, that's a joke.
Agreed. It felt really awkward to watch him bag on garfeilds performance because imma nerd and that's kinda how I was in high-school...skateboarding only made you cool on the early 90s, now no one gives a fuck now. The whole "drunk all the time" comment was also just mean...that's literally the exact look I, and my nerdy friends get when we're just too awkward to say anything. It seems like Chris is just over compensating for giving the movie more praise than he thinks he should've the first time he saw it.
its a batman begins rip off loeb/stacy arent fine with batman/spiderman taking law in his hands the villain is his mentor the main plan is to cover the city in toxin because the villains dont like the direction where the society has gone to batman/spiderman has an insider in the main company who makes the ultimate antidote just one difference batman begins was a good movie
I have a few qualms with this review. While I agree that I don't like the suit, your point that he should be able to afford a better suit because he's able to afford the web shooters that are able to hold the weight of cars, well he didn't exactly make them. Oscorp made the webbing. If you looked at the one scene where Peter's researching, you can see clear as day that Oscorp develops the webbing which Peter pretty much borrows in order to fashion his own web shooters. He probably made the actual web shooters themselves from small scraps lying around. Also there's more than just that one scene where Spider-Man has quips. You can see him taunting the Lizard in the high school for example, when he exclaims, "someone's been a bad lizard". That's like the Spider-Man I know and love. Also in regards to Peter abandoning his quest for Uncle Ben, I believe during the bridge scene, after he saved that kid, he finally understood what Uncle Ben was talking about: the responsibility of being a hero. Cause think about it, Peter only became Spider-Man to hunt down Uncle Ben's killer, for revenge. He never once thought of the responsibility of being Spider-Man at all. Imagine it like this, in the original comics when Peter learns of Uncle Ben's death, he hunts the burglar like nothing else. When he discovers that the burglar was the same person he let escape at the wrestling arena, he has this huge amount of guilt that sweeps over him. In here Peter already knows that the guy he lets escape was the guy who killed Uncle Ben. He then learns Uncle Ben's lesson of responsibility. It's handled differently here. While chasing the man who's killed Uncle Ben, he saves a child and upon seeing the father react to his son being saved, he learns right then and there the lesson of responsibility in the most heroic fashion you can learn it. He doesn't need to find Uncle Ben's killer anymore because he's not out for revenge anymore. He's out for doing what is right. Honestly that bridge scene alone made the movie for me, it shows more heroism than the Raimi trilogy ever could do. Also the point you made about the city finally caring for Spider-Man at the ending, you could say the same thing about the first Spider-Man. You never see the city of New York as a character where they hate Spider-Man in that movie so why should we care if they're all suddenly supporting him. And in regards to Gwen Stacy, she works at the Oscorp lab, plus she's hella smart. Second in her class only behind Peter. If Peter can make web shooters, why shouldn't she be able to make a serum for this Lizard project that's happening in the same area she works in. I wouldn't put it past me that she picked up a few things about how to do a few cross-species genetics. If you've read a comic, you'd know she's hella smart. Plus at least she actually does something, compared to Mary Jane in the Raimi movies, who's job is pretty much just the damsel in distress. it's unsettling to me that you don't give credit to the resourcefulness of Gwen Stacy played by Emma Stone but you praise the incredibly lackluster performance of Kristen Dunst's Mary Jane who is only remembered for getting captured all the fucking time. She's nothing like the Mary Jane in the comics, who knows how to get out of trouble and is able to hold her own really well. Her character deserves little to no praise. Why you don't give the same recognition to Emma Stone is beyond me because she at least does something in this movie besides getting captured. I do agree with some of your points like the Lizard needing motivation and my fury with them deleting essential scenes that would help the plot. That scene with his son would have been a perfect addition and why they got rid of it is beyond me. But I feel like you're extremely biased towards the trilogy. I mean I can respect that. They just were't my cup of tea and I will forever say Spider-Man 3 is far worse than TASM. No hard feelings, you have your opinion, and I have mine. I just wish you did give this film a little bit more of a shot. I know character motivations were pretty fucked, but most of your other qualms I just can't agree with since they're pretty flawed imo at least.
+hadd93 Exactly. Though the motivation of Doctor Connors is clear to me, he really wants to be "whole" again and he takes the stuff even though testing isn't done yet because his laboratory is about to get shut down and he is about to loose access to it. The scene with the son would make it even better, but even without it, you know what he is about.
OMG had this felling for so long. This movie was indeed terrible and I dont even understood why people liked it. Even reviwers were liking it, i felt so dissapointed until now.
Why? The Amazing Spider-Man takes its characters seriously, has a hero who always knows how to get out of a tight situation, a female character who actually HELPS Spider-Man instead of needing rescued & whining like a little tool, and in this movie, Peter Parker actually learns how his actions can inspire people, how they too can have the courage to survive. The old movies never had any of that.
Christian Tyler Hannah But its too cliche. Also spiderman is so unlikable, the bad guy is so stupid and the romance does not make sense at all. The movie feels like its forced. You cant see spiderman, you see the actor. When the movie is bad, it does not matter what it have in difference. It just matter that its a torture to watch it.
I recently re-watched all the Spider-Man movies to get ready for Spider-Man Homecoming, so I decided to check out these reviews again. And even though I've come to not like The Amazing Spider-Man before, this time watching it I could barely finish it because it was so dull and uninteresting. Even though Amazing Spider-Man 2 is a bigger mess, I enjoyed that movie more because it was more fun, colorful, and watchable. Neither movie is good though. I can't believe there was a time when I thought the Amazing Spider-Man movies were better than Sam Raimi's movies.
Probably the thing that bothers me the most about TASM is all the dropped storylines. A lot of time is devoted to Peter investigating his parents' disappearance, and then that's dropped completely after the first act. Peter spends a good chunk of the second act looking for his uncle's killer, and then that's dropped completely as well when he learns a lesson from Captain Stacy. Dr. Ratha is a recurring antagonist who just disappears from the plot after the bridge scene, because his death scene was cut. So the third act becomes about stopping the Lizard from destroying New York, and there's a post credits scene where some mysterious dude tries to recruit Dr. Connors, which obviously goes nowhere because the Amazing series was cut short. I feel like this movie spent too much time trying to set up other movies, and as a result, it really doesn't stand up well on its own.
I'm gonna have to disagree with you on the web shooters argument. He stole the webbing and made a gadget that could shoot it. That's not really difficult in the context of that universe.
@@zafarwahidduddin1026 The web cartridges are from Oscorp, leading us to believe he stole them. It showed him watch a video about them in the scene that he's eating chinese food.

This movie sucked. It pissed me off when it came out how people tried to justify this film by saying 'oh it's a setup movie, the sequels are going to lift the story that's been set up in the first movie!' - that is an infuriatingly bad excuse, how about make a good first movie and make the second better - like the Toby McGuire Spider-Man's did! Never saw the sequel to this, don't think I'll bother really
idc if this video is 8 years old you clearly didn’t watch the movie, he abandoned the search for his uncle’s killer after gwen’s father brings to light that spider-man is a dangerous individual if all he’s going to do with his advantage in strength and skill is satisfy personal vendettas. peter is humbled by the call out, says that spider-man is just trying to do good for the community, but reflects on said call out. he was just doing this for personal reasons, so after this he stops looking for his uncles killer! that’s what i got from it at least.

I don't think anyone other than Willem Dafoe could absolutely nail the role of Norman Osborn.
Reggie Lovato g
Norman or goblin because it's a two part job?
@@AspieMediaBobby Okay well I was only commenting on Dafoe's performance. Whether Norman Osborn is a misogynist or not is not really something I'm bothered by since he's a fictional character.
My favorite part in the film is when Irfan Khan mentions Peter’s father, “Richard Parker”, because he also is in Life of Pi and frequently mentions “Richard Parker”, the tiger. A small thing about this film that just added to me not being able to take it too seriously

Seriously he's a good actor but umm...he's not the Tom Cruise of India like Chris said. Like not even close. I laughed my ass off when he said that.
But Lor San Tekka died. He didn't just disappear with no resolution. You can't compare the two.
The key difference is that Sydow's character doesn't inexplicably vanish from the movie. He gets, you know, killed. On screen. For all of us to see.
I actually really like this movie. Fuck me right?

Brianna Romeo Your Opinion
It's no huge favorite but The Amazing Spider-Man is a guilty pleasure for me. I can't help but like these action scenes in darkness. Spider-Man swinging around in buildings in daylight gets old after a while. I also became invested with Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker. This feels like a more realistic portrayal, and Peter's motivations worked for me here. There are other Spider-Man movies I like better; I agree ASM has some problems.
Can someone just recut this movie with the deleted and alternate scenes
Can someone just recut this movie to not exist?
So sad to know that Irrfan Khan passed away this year. He was a great actor, father and husband. May he Rest In Peace
I never understood why people liked the scene with the car thief, it doesn't feel like I'm watching a young hero trying to do the right thing, it's more like watching an idiot dressed as a red and blue basketball bully someone.
substandardlysubpar Yeah, to me it felt like Spider-Man came across as more of just an asshole during that scene
Spider-Man is a loveable asshole. Spider-Man is not a douchebag who gets off to needlessly messing with a car thief.
Exactly! To me, thats not Spiderman. Thats just some asshole who looks like he’s on his way to comic con
Teben Spiderman isn’t an asshole at all. What are you talking about???
The real question was, how did he get in the car before the thief.
Well you can't deny the ending scene of this film was great. The scene where Peter plays the voice recording of uncle ben. That was my favourite part of the film as it seems like something spiderman would do.
The problem for me was that they marketed it as "The Untold Story" etc, when what we really got was a mediocre rehash of Spider-Man's origin.
But in this origin, Uncle Ben gets shot after Peter tries to get chocolate milk.
Chocolate milk represents the color brown - the exact color that the script was covered in when Sony shit it out.
+SupplySide Jesus LOL
The only good thing in the movie was the chemistry between Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy and Andrew Garfield's Spider-man, not Peter Parker. My opinion, so don't hate me.

What I like was also how we see Peter transform into Spider-Man. The Raimi films we're kind of like hey look, he's ripped, now he's doing back flips and now he's Spider-Man. This film feels like a more refined origin story.

I did not hit her, it's not true, it's bullsh*t, I did not hit her, I did not... Oh, hi Mark
Best movie of 2015.

I dunno.
Well, Venom did fell shoehorned, but Eddie did hate him for getting him fired, so as Venom, he wanted to kill Spider-Man.
nah
Venom is Eddie, Eddie didn't like Spider-Man/Peter Parker so he now wants to kill him
I cannot believe how badly they botched Venom in 3.
You seem to be very influenced by FilmMasterAdam.
True.
I agree. The Sam Raimi trilogy had its moments of over the top cheesiness but that's what endeared the films to me. The Amazing Spiderman films didn't have that and just fell flat and boring for me.
+JAN2MARS Also because cheesiness relative to the character of Spider-Man should be welcomed anyway, tbh.
+Khanemis you saw amazing when you were older so not surprising. and if so, you should have seen how it takes 1 hour to do anything

+Monster Hunter comic book movies
Casino Royale, Star Trek 2009, Amazing Spiderman, Man of Steel.... These were all obviously inspired by the gritty origin style of Batman Begins..... Nolan must be thrilled
u forgot transformers age of extinction. a mastapiece.
+Michael Otis I don't mean in this in any disrespectful way, but how did Batman Begins influence Casino Royale?

No one ever brings up how the sub plot of Peter searching for uncle Ben's killer just fades away with no reasoning behind it.
Because it isn’t true, you just ignored the reasoning. You remember the dinner scene? Hey another movie that Ebert and Stuckmann disagree on
Take a shot every time he says “Let’s talk about... *insert criticism here* “
i have no problem with people not liking Andrew Garfield's portrayal.
Serafim B they are just riding on Marvel and hating on Sony... It's called bandwagon...
I can't wait to see you tear apart the abomination that was the Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Here's how I would've explained why Lizard turns evil:
After Doctor Connors uses the lizard syrum to grow his arm back and it goes wrong and he turns into lizard, he decides he will try and help people, assuming they will accept him, he goes out to look for someone to help and while he's crossing the street a car drives towards him and before it hits the lizard, he uses his claw to stop the car and people start screaming and calling the cops.
They'll learm to accept me once they know how it feels to be like me"
This will pretty much explain why he plans to turn others into lizards.
Just a little something I think could've helped explain why Lizard suddenly turns bad. Feel free to add or leave your thoughts

the main plan is to cover the city in toxin because the villains dont like the direction where the society has gone to
batman/spiderman has an insider in the main company who makes the ultimate antidote
just one difference batman begins was a good movie
+Kartikaye Prasad lmao
😂👌 spot on
Holy shit dude, didn't think of it like that and I agree tasm is shit
I love how he keeps saying "The worst so far..".
Making me look forward to the Amazing Spider-Man 2 Review
“10 pages of notes” holds up a blank notebook.
3:35 He didn't create that material, he stole it from Oscorp.
+wright96d not really.
sonicdihedgehog1 Yes, really.
***** no, there was no scene nor mention that he stole it.
sonicdihedgehog1 It is literally the same scene when he's bitten.
***** no, you just assumed he stole them because they just zoomed in there. many scenes in movies and tv shows have done that.
OMG had this felling for so long. This movie was indeed terrible and I dont even understood why people liked it. Even reviwers were liking it, i felt so dissapointed until now.
+filipe silva frança *UNDERSTAND
Underestodeieded
They were probably payed
I can't believe that you think the garbage Raimi films are better than the overrated Webb films.

In the end, they could of made this movie way better by including the right scenes instead of deleting them.
I'm gonna have to disagree with you on the web shooters argument. He stole the webbing and made a gadget that could shoot it. That's not really difficult in the context of that universe.
He did not stole it he ordered online
@@zafarwahidduddin1026 The web cartridges are from Oscorp, leading us to believe he stole them. It showed him watch a video about them in the scene that he's eating chinese food.
@@ethandavis8370 He was working with Doctor Connors at Oscorp to work on that cure. Safe to assume that he has access to some of Oscorp's products because he is sort of like Connor's intern
