I was 17 when I purchased my 2004 Lincoln Town Car signature, paid $2000 to a shuttle company that kept it in impeccable condition, even now with over 485,000 miles she still runs without a problem. Most reliable vehicle I've ever owned.
@Frank Wilson Once again i still don't know where you get this idea from, fast doesn't always mean good, and if any v8s are unreliable its just mostly modern v8s in general yes you have your bad apples here and there but to my knowledge most US v8s are fine, yes their slow but thats because of the epa and cafe regulations and the fact that most older Us v8 cars were not sports cars, but i gues i haven't owned an American v8 car so i wouldn't know.
@Frank Wilson Chevy small block V8's and Ford's Modular V8 is one of the most reliable motors ever built. Stay away from European and Japanese V8's they are way to complicated expensive to maintain.
@@Aman-fv5if the 4.6 Modular V8 from the Town Car, Grand Marquis and Crown Victoria are one of the most reliable V8 motors made. The small block V8's produced by GM are also really reliable and cheap to maintain. My Caprice has been driven 350000km and works just fine and gets really good fuel economy still. @@bojackh1032 not really, in the 6 years i had mine, i had to replace the intake manifold, rear wheel bearings and seals, water pump, outer tie rod ends, mind you i put a lot of miles on a car that already had a lot of miles
Drive it and make sure the trans feels ok. At a constant speed sometimes you can feel a vibration if the torque converter is going bad. But price for year and miles yes that's a good deal if all is working good.
charles randolph We also put a 4.6 L in the mustang and mercury the only difference was the horse power And and the Lincoln did not have dual overhead cams

Bought my town car at 20. A 2000 signature model, single owner, garage kept, immaculate condition, black cloth top, premium alloy wheels, steering wheel audio/climate controls, premium audio, loads of options, 62k miles. Bought it 4 years ago for $2000, haven't looked back, it's incredibly reliable.
4/2/19, In 2002 I bought a brand-new Caddy, worst pos I ever had. My last car was a Honda & I wanted something bigger. Moral2story: avoid "lux/upscale" cars, they not only cost more, they cost more to fix & depreciate faster. I since bought a 2015 FORD Taurus/awd, best car I ever had yet.
Are all the the town cars, LTD, Marquis very reliable? They pretty much seem to stay the same until they stopped making them. Taxis and Limo services seem to use them. The only negative I have heard about them, was the air suspension failure.
Generally the Panther platform is very reliable. That would include the Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis and Town Car. You basically can´t go wrong with any of them from when they started using the modular V8 and the 4R70W transmission untill the end. Both are pretty much indestructable when serviced regularily and good for 300k+ miles.@@chriscornelius2518
A car that runs forever is not what a car manufacturer likes. Car companies like to sell cars not keep them running. But in the case of the Panther platform is was pure stupidity from Ford. They had the whole fleet market: Police, government, taxi cabs, livery - and they just threw it away by cancelling the Panther.@@chriscornelius2518
i have both a 2004 lincoln town car and a 2005 grand marquis and i smile every time i get in them. they both get about 19 mile per gallon in the city and 22 over all.
I just bought the same car from my neighbor for $1000 same color, 145,000 miles, mine has sun roof heated seats, love this car now having it 1 month. Just been cruising. Great video thanks. 👍
I LOVE the LINCOLN TOWN CAR I have had 4 of them . my daily driver is a 1996 LINCOLN TC with almost 200 thousand miles on it and it drives like BRAND NEW and I love the CLASSIC LINES OF THIS CAR . Wish I could buy a brand new one. Lincoln should bring back the TOWN CAR and make it Classic in Design and make it drive just like my 1996 TC
@loyal4 the way the EPA rating is 23 MPG highway. For someone that does mostly highway driving its not bad. True frame, V8, 4.6 L engine dated back to 1992. Over 4,500 lbs.
Welcome to the wonderful world of the Panther platform. I owned 3 when I was 26. Super comfortable, reliable V8 power, SUV like interior space, RWD, huge trunk, cheap to own, what’s not to like!
Joe Dunkle Yep. I own a 2002 P71 purchased for under a grand with 82K miles. It was a county service car that never saw any police service and came with all maintenance records. I’m at 130K trouble free miles now!!!!
Grand Marquis and Town Car are the only other "old man" cars I would buy and drive if I had to switch from my current 91 LS400 (yes, another "grandma car"). But I guess I'm "old" at age 48. Age brings with it experience and wisdom.
Gotta love rear wheel drive, eh? That's probably one of the few Japanese cars I'd buy instead of a Town Car. Hell, I'd love a Genesis G80, but that's a bit too pricey!
I'm 26 and got a town car. I hope that it'll be as reliable as everyone says they are. Great riding car. Despite the low horsepower, it picks up pretty quick with the torque. Got it 2 months ago and put about 3,000 miles on it already.
Im 25 and bought one this month lol. It's an 01..needs mi or exterior TLC but i love it. I bought mine for $1100 and it had 132,320mi on it. You got a great deal man.
I just bought me Lincoln Town Car 2006 I love the luxury ride, fuel economy great considering the size of the vehicle and this is the only on the frame vehicle still on the market, love it!!!
I bought a garaged 2004 last year from a lady that was too old to drive. It's silver with a shale interior and appears to be garaged since day one. It was $3200 and needed NOTHING.
Best car ever!!. I'm driving a 99 lincoln tc with just over 92,000 miles. Not even broken in yet....which is awesome. I was thinking of getting something more economical but my 18yo daughter wouldn't have it. It was passed down to us 11yrs ago by my inlaws and my girl is determined to keep it. Pretty soon all the majors will have been changed out& it will be like new again!!
My friend have town car with 640k miles ( regular maintenance engine oil on time plus transmission fluid) these two maintenance they’ll keep your engine and transmission run for ever( town car had problem with oil filter gasket easy to fix)
I'm a few years older than you and also own a Town Car that I inherited from my grandmother. I was a child in the 1980s and a teen in the 1990s and Town Cars in those days were never driven by people who were under 60. These days, Town Car owners are much more diverse and I think that is awesome. is awesome. . Grandma and Grandpa loved them for good reason and younger people these days are finding out why . It helps that used Panther platform cars are plentiful and cheap. They are a great choice for people who need a reliable vehicle but don't have much money to spare. They are very safe and kids riding in one are very well protected. That bottomless pit also known as a trunk is nice too.
There will never ever be another vehicle this reliable and dependable like a faithful friend. It just works. ❤️

A lot of kit on this yacht. Most cars from 19 years ago did not come with so much tech and extra stuff. A second sun visor makes so much sense. The trunk is huge as well. For the money you can't complain
this is one of the things I like about used TC's. You get features you don't see on $40k cars today on a $1500 car... also, that trunk is even bigger than it looks. Totaled my 03 Grand Marquis this winter and had a Hyundai suv as a rental. I completely filled the suv 3 times with the stuff I carry in my GM on a work trip. Filled it to the ceiling once with the things still in my car when I emptied it out. Filled it again with my work equipment, and a third time emptying out my hotel room. Also the blind spots on every SUV I've driven are massive. #PantherPlatformFanBoi
@@rxmarlo2303 I'm on my second Lincoln Town Car, a Burgundy painted body with chrome trim and a tan cloth top, and a tan interior, 2000. I acquired this car about 4 years ago and stand as the second owner. The original owner, a friend of the family, an elderly lady from Wales who relocated to Camarillo California and established a successful business in Escrow. My first Lincoln Town Car I acquired was a 1987, all white exterior, all red interior and every time I think of that huge luxury sedan, I always wish I had put more money and more work into it to keep that one. People give you more respect in the road, as a courteous Town Car driver than I've seen be towards other vehicles in general. It's the car of grandma or grandpa or high status officials here in the old days in the United States and all abroad still to this day. It's not just a car. It's a symbol of success, status, and class. A well kept Lincoln Town Car is always a beautiful chariot to arrive in or depart in. Owning and driving a Lincoln Town Car is not for everyone. It's an exclusive privilege for those who do, and it's felt the moment you take ownership, and the loss is significant if you sign a pink slip.
@@ORIGINALCRESTED i have a 2000 aswell a couple weeks after i got it i got into a accident with it that im positive it would have totaled the whole front end of a generic car of nowadays but the lincoln took very few damage compared to how hard it was i dident even feel anything inside. Long story short i fixed her up and i love her shes a tank
@@rxmarlo2303 the glory of owning an old Town Car. Near invincibility compared to other cars and " SUVs " A small dent vs a totalled vehicle. A scratch everyone can ignore compared to a car that just lost 50 % of its value WITHOUT the scratch, plus the added bonus that everyone sneers at small scratch on a new car.
Just got an '02 town car with 150k and LOVE it. Luckily I'm a mechanic and she needs a little love that my experience can give her what she needs... love my panther body!
Think about this: That engine and drive train is the same the standard in F-150 pickups of the time. If you have a long day on the Interstate facing you, it's the best.
I used to own an '01 Executive. Just recently bought a 2003 Signature Series with 69,500 miles on, I absolutely love the panther platform. I've also previously owned a 1995 Grand Marquis, and a 1988 Grand Marquis. My '01 got about 24-25mpg combined, 27 on the highway. The 03 has been getting 22.3 combined over the past 800 miles, it got 27 on the 100 mile trip home. The '03 also weighs 300lbs more than the '01 and has 3.27 as opposed to 3.08 gears.
I recently bought a 1988 Lincoln Mark VII, sort of a little brother to the TC. 33,600 miles. Bill Blass edition so has the full digital dash. Engine is the 5.0 HO. Traded a 2008 Jeep Liberty for it even, no cash. Drives like silk, but at 70, I am an old man. Thrilled that younger folk appreciate these cars.Great video.
I'm 38 and I bought a 99 Lincoln Town Car 2 years ago :) daily driver with over 200,000 miles and runs smooth Edit: weird mine is a Signature but has a sunroof 🤔
Ali Sleeq you could actually buy a signature series and upgrade it to the level of the highest trim from the dealer back in the day. So yours was just optioned out more than the one featured in the video
This is the opposite of what people think they want to drive. It is the opposite of what sexy car marketing promotes. It is exactly what I prefer to drive.
@@Goku_Kiyosaki who cares what they say man, just got a 01 yesterday and half my friends say "it's a grandma car"; and then when they actually see how it is on the road they fucking love it. The guy who sold me it thought there was a bunch of issues but after I got a few of my buddies and their mechanics we realized more than half the shit the one guy thought was wrong didn't have an issue. All I need to fix is just cosmetic, the previous owner didn't take care of the front sets so the leather is worn, stained, and ripped in the middle but the back is good. Doors are also a bit funky, need a new bumper and windshield but that's not top priority
I'm 36 and own the 05 Lincoln Town Car. I love that car and have always had trucks before that and still have a truck. But when I don't always need to drive my truck and glad to drive my Town Car. Really comfortable ride and very dependable. I paid 2000 for mine with 162000 miles on it. I thought it was a fair price so I didn't even try to talk the guy down, but now you're kind of making me feel a little sore about my purchase... You got a good deal
Hahah well I was basically able to buy it for what the dealership bought it in for plus tax. Perks of working at a dealership. I have people offering me $2500 for it all day. Im holding out for more because its such a great car.
Nice find! Ford had some really thoughtful ideas in the 90s and 00s. The double sun visors, the keypad entry system etc. E/M allows you to switch between English and Metric units. In the older ones with a digital dash, the speedometer would change between mph and kph, too. Pretty neat stuff for a 2,000-year-old car, right? 😄 I tend to agree with you on the new 3. It’s still a nice car, but the previous gen was such a showstopper - especially when it first came out. I plan to buy myself a nice 3rd gen sometime this year.
Maybe we can work out a deal on my 3. I just cant get myself to trade it in. Id like to sell it to somebody where I can still know what its up to. Tha ks for letting me know what the E/M means, never would have thought of that. Its an awesone new ride for such a fair price.
Totally forgot to mention the Maurader. Was kind of a different animal in comparison. My neighbor about 10 years ago had a Marauder with a supercharger. It was a beast. A total sleeper.
Notes: the gas gage reports the top 18 gallons, but it's a 20 gallon tank. E/M is english/metric aka MPH/KMH. also, the 03 and newer model has rack and pinion steering and handles just a bit better. To be fair I prefer floating to getting my balls knocked about in every other car, and once you get used to it, you can drive a panther pretty aggressively. Traction control is fantastic as well, but you're screwed if the back finally does get loose on snow/ice. It takes a lot to break free, but once it does good luck recovering. I'm in my 30's and on my 4th panther body in the last 10 years. 2x 05 TC, 03 GM, 95 TC. The 95 TC was actually my favorite, bought with 196k in 2008 ( $1500), put 250k more on it. Next was an 05 Limited, bought with 130k ($6,000), parked it with 250k after 2 years due to several issues. Bought the 03 Gm with 205k, ($800 with a busted tie-rod and smashed fender) totaled it this winter with 250k on the clock. Picked up an 05 with the cloth top for $1500. clocks at 199k right now. Before those had an 88 grand marquis, 85 plymouth turismo, an 87 mustang and a 78 Granada. Guess i just like cars that you don't feel the cracks in the road when you drive them. For what it's worth, the 88 Marquis could take a speed bump at 50MPH and you wouldn't feel a thing.
My father had one like this, same year and trim level. It was white however. The airbag suspension was changed to conventional coil spring suspension, as the airbags were quite expensive. It only had 160k on it, it looked mint body wise but the rocker panels were shot. Front fenders were rusty so chrome wheelwell trim was installed. When it came time to sell the Lincoln a few years back, there was no intrest at all in this car which needed work. Dad sold it for 300 bucks after 6 months of advertising it for sale. Oddly enough that Lincoln is still on the road to this day.
Also the E/M on the dash means “English” and “Metric so essentially everything in the car changes. For example the temperature will display Celsius instead of Fahrenheit etc
I've owned three Crown Victorias since 1987. Just bought an '03 Towncar. It is easily the smoothest riding car I've ever owned. Love the panther platform.
I'm 26, had a wide verity of all different kinds of cars. Recently purchased a 1998 town car and man am I in love! Such a nice riding car, you feel like mafia boss lol 182.000 miles on the original engine and gearbox, whisper quiet and super smooth. I had low mileage cars with good service history that didnt run as good as this thing! Watch out for rust on the chassis near the control arm mount (just repaired mine on both sides) apart from that its amazing!
I had a 93 Crown Vic LX when I was 17 (nearly 20 years ago) then a few years later had a 97 Crown Vic LX...I thoroughly enjoyed them and appreciated the old man comments I received. I am old at heart, and also know a solid vehicle when I see one. Rest assured, these are some of the last solid cars.
I guess I can be glad that I discovered this type of vehicle when I did! If I come across another one I may have to add it to the fleet. Id like to find a Mercury Marauder, which was slightly different.
LOOK FOR A ONE OWNER LOW MILEAGE !I'M THINKING ABOUT PURCHASING A LINCOLN TOWN CAR ?IF I FIND THE RIGHT ONE FOR THE RIGHT PRICE?I REALLY ENJOY MY GRAND MARQUIS AND WOULD LIKE A LINCOLN TO GO WITH IT.👍💪🇺🇸
I bought my first Lincoln in 1986 when I was 32. It was 3 years old with only 7k miles on it. I have had 2 other Town Cars, with my current one a 2002 that I have had for 12 years that looks just like yours. The only major issue that I have had with my 1994 and 2002 Town Cars is the rear air ride suspension bags and air pump that have gone bad on both cars. This happens on many of these cars, and hopefully this doesn't happen to you. I think you have a great car at a bargain price.
No need to explain anything. You got a GREAT car, the likes of which we will never see again, unfortunately. I would buy one of those blindfolded for 5 or 10 times the money in a heartbeat.
No shit. I paid $14K for a 2006 Designer I had brought up from Alabama to Ohio. Only 52K on the clock. It's my retirement car, sitting in the garage waiting for my 62yo self to retire. I also have a 2006 Signature Limited I use for a daily driver. Been driving these beasts since I was 22 years old. I do my own repairs, so I gravitate to easy to fix and cheap to keep stalwarts like this.
Thats awesome! Owned 4 Grand Marquis, and now a Cadillac DTS 2010, bought cheap. Love the land yachts, new cars are a waste of Money, and the Town Car you have will last forever and are very cheap and easy to fix.
If it hasn't already been done expect to change the intake manifold in the next 25-50k, the newer version has been updated with an aluminum crossover on the front to help with the stress of the alternator, pre 2003 usually crack under the alternator bracket of the hose inlet on the back for the heater core will break off
I had a Crown Vic in my 20's and now have a Town Car inherited from my grandmother. I just drove a round trip of 3400 miles in the Town Car. It is literally the only 4 door sedan capable of hauling the amount of crap I had with me. I think a Town Car probably has more cargo capacity than some small SUV's and has bigger balls to carry that cargo with. It was a very comfortable drive and I felt very safe too. The town car is big and heavy and I would feel bad for the Honda Fit that pulls out in front of me.
My 19 year old wants one. I had one years ago when he was a little boy. He never forgot and now that he has his licence. He wants us to find him a Town Car.
@ Jeff L-- You should try to find a good Town Car for your son before they are all gone. Sadly, the last year that Lincoln made the Town Car was in 2011. :(
I’m from the UK 🇬🇧 and remember travelling to the US several times in the 90’s when all the cars over there used to be like the Towncar. Now days you guys seem to be driving all the small European stuff and I never understand why. Our vehicles are expensive, small, have rubbish ride quality and are high revving noisy things. I’d buy a Towncar over any Bmw, Mercedes or Audi and would pay more for one too! So sad it’s not made anymore
Cool video thanks! I always liked these cars, my dad had a Mercury Grand Marquis and I liked that but I think the Lincoln looks much more classy. The "E/M" at 7:20 of the video is English or Metric units - you have to press a button when selected and the gauges will change for you.
they last for every , I owned a eldorado and it cost me an arm and leg on repairs with only 99k miles ,a friend has a town car the original owner w 320k miles only replace tires , batteries , brakes and two water pumps .
Just check any used car site for the Town Car and you will find example after example of Town Cars used by limousine services that still look great and have over a half-million miles on them.
May I recommend.... that bezel around the EATC (climate control) that you buy "Hammered" paint with a bronze color. I did this on mine and I got complements left and right. It makes it look like metal with a very nice texture! Pop out that bezel and spray paint it. I used a primer, waited 3 hours and then hit it with the hammered paint. It looks AMAZING! :)
Two known issues for 1999: plastic intake manifold causes break at thermostat and adjustable air ride suspension. You'll have to replace the rubber baffles and possibly air compressor for it at some point
That's to much go to craigslist and look up limousine it is a fleet vehicle is the better car the low mile old man cars are just a car I got my 2011 executive l for $3500 with 411.986 miles on it it came with its entire life of work order and record of maintenance . So it's like when a guy tells you I put a new transmission in last year and you ask him do you have the receipt no I don't have the receipt you have no proof of the work with the limousine companies they give you the work order in the maintenance records so you have proof of maintenance on the engine what they have done what they haven't done you don't get that when you buy a car from Grandpa
When your young you think you would never own a land yacht...but when You get older...your like yea, I like driving 70 mph on a couch lol. It niiiiice.
I got a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis "Presidential Edition" with 21000miles. And I also own a 1991 Chevy Caprice Classic. I love land-yachts! The E/M is where you change it from miles to kilometers.
My mom had a 99 White Town Car, with 200k+ miles. That baby was smooth. My grandpa named it Cloud bc is was light and felt like we were floating. Loved that car, now it's all about sporty designs and technology/safety tech.
Because Panther platform cars in general, and Town Cars in particular, are awesome. They're very durable, easy to work on and parts are inexpensive and plentiful. All around great cars.
Nothing wrong with "old man car"! I'm 41 and I'm currently driving a well kept 2007 Cadillac DTS, had 44K miles when I got it. I've had all sorts of cars, sporty coupes and whatnot. I always go back to a "grandpa car". My first car was a 1984 Oldsmobile Deltla 88, that's what I fell in love with, the comfortable V8 sedans.
Nothing wrong with being in a 'REAL' comfortable car. They are few and far between in NEW cars today. All hard and cold. No plush pillow velour seats anymore:)
E/M is for changing from English to Metric!!! HAHA I have had my share of Town Cars and you bought one of the most reliable cars on the road..I have had a 85, 87, 88, 89 and 2003 and an 04 too...loved them all...the 2003 was bullet proof!
1. Comfortable & smooth AF 2. Reliable AF 3. Inexpensive 4. Cheap to repair & maintain 5. Relatively easy to repair & maintain with a LOT of room in the engine compartment 6. Ubiquity - parts are easy to find and inexpensive when you do find them 7. Durable - many last 300,000+ miles 8. Leg room for days - my sons are > 6'3" tall 9. Low tech info-tainment. Less to break, less to go outdated, less to repair. Simple is RELIABLE! I bought a 2004 Lincoln Town Car with only 4500 (not 45,000, but 4,500) miles on the clock a year ago in like new condition. Everyone who rides in it is amazed how smooth and comfortable it is!
Town cars are the best cars ford ever made...thats why they made them since 1928..until they did the dumbass decision to discontinue it. I had a blue town car just like that one when I was 21. I've owned Lincoln's ever since. I'm now on my 2012 Lincoln MKZ...now you've been bitten by the Lincoln bug 😀
Interesting video. I think it's a smart move for you to buy a Lincoln Town Car. As you mentioned, the Lincoln Town car is part of the Ford Panther Platform family of cars which also includes the Grand Marquis and Crown Victoria. Their Body on Frame structure makes them more durable then most cars. And considering the relatively low cost for them, I find these cars to have a lot of value to them. If you maintain them, they will last literally several hundred thousand miles or more. The durability of this Ford Family of cars, is why Police Departments and Taxi companies love to use them. Despite being last produced back in 2011.
We have one of these , great engine , good car , when I drive it the steering is very sensitive that bothers me a little but it is very smooth. Couple weeks back I was at Costco & I threw two bags of garden soil in the trunk , maybe 80 lb. ? and on the drive home the sensitivity went away . Seems like this car was belt to carry weight in the back. The only other negative I got are the cup holders , Their's only two , & their very shallow . A 17oz bottle of water will tip over in a turn & a 7up can is border line safe . Coffee ? maybe small cup. The engine layout is also great super easy to change oil & filter. Lots of room under the hood. For the price this car is Great
Also the seats in mine doesnt seem to go as far back as they should, I'll have to get that fixed too. All in all i love the car and how quiet it is and the thought of wanting duals just slowly vanished away.
Your seat motor is blown, or just weak? I learned that a weak motor needs to be adjusted when theres no weight on the seat. Adjust it and then sit down.
I'm 34 with an 06 LTC 450,000 miles bought it in 2015 for $1700 in immaculate condition. Keep up with regular oil changes and cant even tell car is on, it is so quiet. I dont see myself ever getting another car maybe a truck one day.

I bought a Signature Series 2001 this past weekend. It is the best place to be on my way to work. I float to work, and back home and to the gym and to run errands and I'm getting 20mpg so far. Reason No 1.: Most reliable car ever.
I have 2 Towncars a 99 and 97 model, never going to sell them. When I bought my first TC I was 21.
@@eaglevision993it only makes sense they killed it then. Ha ha ha Way to go Ford.
A car that runs forever is not what a car manufacturer likes. Car companies like to sell cars not keep them running. But in the case of the Panther platform is was pure stupidity from Ford. Yep.

I got a '95 Signature and I'm still in high school, easily the nicest car in the parking lot. And probably cheapest.
128000 is not a lot of miles especially a car from the early 2000
Not if it was well maintained. These cars usually are and can go up to 3 - 4 - 500k miles. They are underappreciated nowadays as the prices will tell

I tend to agree with you on the new 3.
Its an awesone new ride for such a fair price.
forgot the mercury marauder , had a 305hp 4v cobra motor ;)
Totally forgot to mention the Maurader. Was kind of a different animal in comparison. My neighbor about 10 years ago had a Marauder with a supercharger. It was a beast. A total sleeper.
I have a marauder supercharged! A marquis, crown vic. And a Town car Will be a 4v dohc swap soon.
E/M changes the speedo and odo from English to metric.

I have had 2 other Town Cars, with my current one a 2002 that I have had for 12 years that looks just like yours. The only major issue that I have had with my 1994 and 2002 Town Cars is the rear air ride suspension bags and air pump that have gone bad on both cars.
1. Comfortable & smooth AF
2. Reliable AF

4. Cheap to repair & maintain
5. Relatively easy to repair & maintain with a LOT of room in the engine compartment
6. Ubiquity - parts are easy to find and inexpensive when you do find them
7. Durable - many last 300,000+ miles
8. Leg room for days - my sons are > 6'3" tall

Mikey is awesome, I recently found a buick century for my mom at a low price low miles and it is one of the most comfortable cars i've ever driven. Way more comfortable than my 2010 mazda 3 hatch
I'm 17 and I just bought a 2002 mercury grand marquis, I'm very happy with it
I have a 96 with 300k, and 05 with 184k both are road worthy, everything works in both, and road worthy, bought the 96 in 08, wouldn't trade either for anything, best and most reliable american made car period.
Yea its a bargain when one can be bought for $1400 out the door, especially being so reliable.
I bought a Signature Series 2001 this past weekend. It is the best place to be on my way to work. I float to work, and back home and to the gym and to run errands and I'm getting 20mpg so far. Got a slow leak in the air suspension line but will convert to coils for cheap when needed. It had 132k miles and I paid $3k for it because it was in great condition. People don't notice me in it.
