  • I found this 2004 Lincoln Town Car for sale on facebook marketplace back in September. I bought this Lincoln Town Car for $10,500 and it saved me from my $720 a month payment on my 2014 Ford Raptor.
In this video I explain how I was able to sell my Ford Raptor and buy a Lincoln Town Car in cash which was financially just a better decision for me. Not having a car payment to make every month can save you a TON of money!
In America the average price people pay for new cars is $40,000 and the average monthly car payment is $726. An article by Lending Tree breaks down some of the most insane facts about financing a car in America and how expensive it could be.
Now I'm not saying that you should feel ashamed or completely avoid financing a car, because everybody's situation is different. But if you are looking for a way to have some extra cash every month, downsizing something like a depreciating asset of a car might be a good place to start.
Tune into this video where I go over my personal situation, as well as my plans for the future. As well as give you guys an example on why driving this car could save you big bucks! The lincoln town car of course!

It's hard to argue with that kind of logic, Nick. What you didn't mention this time is how much you like the ride in the Lincoln. That makes your argument even harder to refute. The truth is Americans have been convinced that we have to spend ridiculous amounts of money to live and be happy, when you really don't have to.

Panther Platform accommodates all the situations you mentioned: kids, long commute, space for cargo.
Side note: this was a fantastic video. This video (and your channel) needs to go viral. This is very practical advice. You don't have to buy the latest/greatest car.

I bought a 04 LTC with 13,300 mi for $13K 3 years ago so I would have a reliable and comfortable long distance (800 mi one way) Barcalounger on wheels for not a lot of money. With a body of frame, it took a tow hitch with no issues. I use the car to pull a small trailer when additional carrying capacity is needed. Insurance is low ($50/mo) and the milage has averaged 21.1 MPG over the last 30K mi. Nothing has broken and I have only had to fix the known water leak problem with the HVAC air intake under the hood.
I have no regrets with this purchase and recommend this to all as well.

Sir, you're absolutely correct. My plan is to pay cash for a town car for transportation when we return to America to live. I used to own an older model years ago and 12:04 beat myself up to trading it in. Economicly, my town car was far more dependable and a joy to drive. I'm older and more mature now, and I will enjoy the American freeways, stop lights, and folk knowing how to drive. Enjoy your town car to the max.

Glad to hear someone with common sense. “Investing” in a car could only be applicable during the COVID pandemic. Otherwise it’s not an investment but a money pit. At your age, $1000 a month should be saved to buy a home (although that has its own headaches) but it is a wise investment for your retirement (and trust me, it will come).
I tuned into your channel since my old man was always sold on the Marquis and those cars were insanely reliable. Tough to remember when they were in the shop.
As for myself- I invested in a house and after 25 years, I paid $366K and sold for $1.2. Trust me, it’s worth it.

    • @GetThisNick
      @GetThisNick  6 месяцев назад

Wow what a great investment that was! You must of bought in a great area. Good for you that’s awesome to hear, and it sounds like your old man knew a thing or two about GOOD cars!

@@GetThisNick I bought in Darien, Ct.- a boutique suburb of NYC- and yeah- it was a fantastic investment and I suggest you don’t look for a house with bells and whistles in an average neighborhood- the chances are high that it won’t give a nice ROI. My sister did that and from 1989 to 2018- 400K only went to 788K. She had new construction and I had an 1896 Victorian. Basically I invested in the dirt (the lot was fantastic).
That Panthers Platform has been undervalued for years and is now getting its recognition. It’s about time.

What a coincidence! I also got a panther car last September. Mine is a crown victoria lx. She isnt pretty but i paid only a fraction what you did. So a fair trade lol
Yeah it is INSANE how much people are paying and living in debt. When my old car died last year it screwed up everything even with a few paychecks saved. People just assumed id take out a loan and be in debt for years . Ideally i wanted an old camry or corolla but those are being sold for so much even at extreme mileage. And really out here you need a car to survive. Almost lost my job because of it.
The market is fucked...But dont give up hope-those of you who are going through what i did. Theres still deals out there.
Tldr my crown vic saved my ass and is well worth the price of gas.

Agree that new cars are a waste. Your Town Car will hold its value and the repairs should be low cost if you keep up on all fluids and take care of it. I got a 2006 Town Car in 2016 for $4500 and still use it almost daily with 124k on it now and it rides like new. I have not had a car payment in 26 years and never spent more than $28k on a car but all my cars look clean and almost new. I love the 392 Durango too, but would never pay that much.

Smart guy! I love it! Continue thinking and doing this way and you'll save a ton! Be sure to save as much as you can cause when you get old like me you'll be set for life and be able to retire! So many people these days are spending everything they make and not thinking about the future! AND don't worry about if the car burns more fuel or a little more for repairs! I have so many friends that will sell their car and get head over heals in debt because their old car wasn't "great on gas "or "Oh my god, my alternator went out"! LMAO, they just don't understand, by buying that expensive car they are spending more than an alternator replacement and something slightly better on fuel! You are on the right track! And if you get tired of that Lincoln and want something else... no problem, it's paid for, you have equity and you can buy another cheap car and have fun! Although , that Lincoln, taken good care of will run you for many years problem free! What a nice ass Lincoln you have! Be proud!

I thought the same when I heard the quote, however I shopped around and a lot of the insurance prices were higher including higher than the $200.
When I asked, they said that even though it’s an older car with considerably less value, that could actually make it cost more money to insure due to stuff like the vehicles security system not as up to date as say a new vehicles. And to be fair, I also do have full coverage with literally every option, including towing as well as rental reimbursement. I’m sure I’d be able to take some things off and get it down
