    I've owned 26 vehicles over the years. The pride of my current fleet of five vehicles is a 2006 Presidential Edition Town Car (Signature Limited) in Light French Silk double rare with a black canvas carriage roof and factory sunroof and factory chrome 18 spoke wheels. I'm in my 60's and I expect this Town Car will be with me through my last days. I don't drive it every day, but it is my choice for long summer road trips of ~ 2,000 to 3,000 miles - its a sublime car to soak up the miles.

    Good video. We just picked up a 2007 black town car in like new condition having been kept in the garage, with only 38,000 miles. We were not looking for one but a death of an elderly man in the family of a friend, dropped it in our lap for an unusually low low price. We are now learning a lot about the town car and finding it to be a great car. At first we thought we might not keep it as a big luxury car was not what we were looking for but the more you drive it the more you like it.

      Congrats on the new lincoln I'd love to find another black one. I was in a similar situation when I got my black one it was my grandma's friends car and only had 45000 miles on it. This was 12 years ago and i drove it for 8 years before I ever had to make my first repair other than brakes and oil changes. Definitely the best car I've ever owned. Good luck with your lincoln I think you'll enjoy it and thanks for watching a commenting I have other lincoln town car videos if you wanna check them out too and I'm sure I'll be posting more.

    61 years old and a Grandpa now so I just bought a Grandpa car. 2004 LTC Signature. 97K miles and not a speck of rust anywhere. Undercarriage is immaculate. Definitely NOT from Ohio where I bought it. I did watch this vid first. Started it cold and listened, looked for leaks. All great. Was sitting level even though it had sat long enough to drain the battery. A battery pack jumped it, but the car died almost immediately after removing the jumper cables. So long story short it came with a brand new alternator, and a brand new battery. Courtesy of the dealer, simply in order for me to take the test drive. Drives and (now) runs like a champ. After I got it I took it to my buddy who knows more about vehicles than anyone I know and even he was surprised at how clean it is. Here's how clean this car is. The silver on the bottom door sill on the driver's side looked scuffed. It wasn't scuffed, it was the original protective tape that covered it or what was left of it. On the other 3 door sills that protective tape is still 100% intact. On a 20 year old car. Blew my mind. This vid and others helped me decide to pull the trigger when I found a clean one, thanks much.

    I have a 2004 Presidential edition with a vinyl roof. It's beautiful, BUT. It's too big for my garage. I have pine trees. If I cover the car, the top gets moldy. If I don't, it takes hours to clean all the sap off of it. I'm doing one final clean up and trading it in on another Town Car with no vinyl roof that I can keep covered and clean. Otherwise, I love the ride and all the room in it. Great trick on checking the AC system. THANK YOU FOR THE FIX ON THE ALWAYS WET FLOOR IN BACK.

    Thank you for the sections on the blend door test and cowl drain leak. Was looking at one today that had both issues and cracked paint yet they still demanded premium money for it. @@hoobsgarage Thank you for the response! What do you think if the car had the leak (not fixed) and was sitting in a warm southern climate for 4 years? It seems easy to fix but if water had been sitting for that long how could it affect things?

    • @hoobsgarage
      @hoobsgarage  12 дней назад +2

      @Magus1213 you're welcome I try to answer everyone. I guess if it leaked long enough it could eventually rot out the floor. I definitely wouldn't pay premium price with the smells and things you mentioned but that could all be cleaned and as far as fixing the leaking cowl it's super easy. I wish I had a video of it. All it takes is some silicone and putting it around a few places on the cowl. I'm sure there are a ton of videos about it. It's a huge problem on these. Almost all of them do it

I'm gonna need something reliable. I'll probably have regular Springs put on the back of the line I get too. I'm looking at two different ones right now for around 3,000 but I'm going to try to get it for 2500. One is a 2002 and one is a 2000. This guy bought one for his daughter who just got her license and she doesn't like that big car. It doesn't matter now and it's not like I'd try to take it back I knew what I was getting into but I couldn't find the one I wanted for cheap. Or be in the right place at the right time kinda thing. I know they got me but Iv got my dream car with now 71k on it. I'll bet the only time it's ever seen 3000rpm was on my test drive. The whole bottom of it looks like a car that's 3 years old or less not 18. As I said I love the thing. I truly do it's great. The idea of driving it to work wakes me right up in the morning and I'm not a morning person.

      13 is a little on the high side but I guess it's not completely unreasonable for low mileage excellent condition. But if you like it who cares lol, buying a car you love is always better than a good deal on a car you hate. Those limited are hard to find and color seems to make a big price difference. Black is outrageous if you can even find one. They're getting super rare and white seems to be a pretty hot color too. Hey hoob I already popped on mine too before I saw your video. I looked and looked and couldn't find a nice one for a nice price bro. I paid to much but I got a dam near perfect one with 70k miles. It does have a bad passenger side actuator so Iv got a little work to do on it but I don't care like you said it's 18 years old now and it's in incredibly good shape so hell with it I got what I wanted. Owned by an old dude that traded it for a Honda. So it came from a dealership. I'd rather fix it's issues myself and them have left it like it was anyway. I love the thing with all my heart and it's the best car Iv ever owned. I know I paid to much but I really don't care. After six months of looking at ones with problems for a few thousand less I'm happy with it. It was the most expensive one I saw thru my search and I got it. I must have looked like a real sucker but I was happy. Still am. It's dark cherry with the same interior as your gold one. Totally worth it if you ask me. But some people think I'm nuts. Probably true. I paid 13k for it. It's a limited edition.

    I was wondering how many miles do you drive this daily?
    I like them but hear they use a lot of gas but are not too bad of the highway.
    May have to do a 40 mile commute if I get a new job.

    • @hoobsgarage
      @hoobsgarage  5 месяцев назад +2

      I get about 315 miles to tank and it takes about 40 to 45 dollars to fill up. It gets around an average of 20 to 21 miles per gallon. But I live in a hilly area with lots of slow driving and curves. Out on the highway you'd probably get 23 to 24. @42luke93 no problem and obviously I just got the silver one but the black one has been the most dependable vehicle I ever owned.
