I’ve owned 26 vehicles over the years. The pride of my current fleet is a beautiful 2006 Presidential Edition Lincoln Town Car (Signature Limited). It is finished in Light French Silk with a black canvas carriage roof with a factory sunroof and factory 18 spoke chrome wheels. Just a wonderful car that I drive often, it’s just under 150k miles. I over maintain it with engine oil and filter changes every 2,500 miles, transmission service every 25,000 miles, differential service every 50,000 miles. Super easy to keep on the road, just a few known trouble areas, but way more reliable than any new car. I too will replace my airbags with new airbags when they finally go - their ride is sublime. This is my go to vehicle for relaxing long distance driving.
The ride quality alone definitely wants me to take this car on a nice road trip one weekend. I’m definitely going to plan one where I could really get this baby out on the highway and see how she does for long distances

But one thing to look out for is from 1996 through 2001 the 4.6 used an all plastic intake manifold that at some point will crack in the front as mine did at around 95k and I replaced it with the improved intake manifold. The new improved intake has a cast aluminum piece across the front and a redesigned alternator mount. The new intake manifold has less stress on these key mount areas and a stronger material to support the load.

Since the Town Car was discontinued, the 300 would be the closest anyone could get, since it was full-size with a V8 and RWD. But now, there’s nothing to fill that void. This is why when Ford releases the Mustang Mach-4 sedan, they have to offer a Lincoln version as well.
The Lincoln Town Car - 3rd Generation was produced from (1998 to 2011) not (2003 to 2011) as you stated and I should know because I have my late Fathers 1999 and its the same car but the design of the grill did change slightly later on.
I appreciate your video, but there's one thing that you didn't mention; and it's a big con against the Lincolns, as far as I know, the big boys were never that great with gas mileage

For the past 20 years I have been driving those big US(Canada) made sedans and among all those the Lincoln and Mercury Grand marquises were and are my favorite, today I have this 1996 Town car with 150 miles in it, as of now the only problem I have encounteredis something strange happening with this HVAC system, lately it has started working intermettenly with cutouts but I hope I'm able to sort that strenghten out, Thanks for the video and very best greetings from across the pond, Finland-europe
@@paulthescandinavian4992 A common problem with these cars is the blend-door actuators going bad which could cause HVAC issues. Maybe that’s what you’re experiencing!
@@GetThisNick yes, when i push on the automatic mode button nothing happens until i switch the Manual operated wheel on the full speed position , changed the blower motor resistor with no success, will keep on inspecting futher(blend door actuators seem to work appropriately changed the whole hvac unit(from another junk jard car)and again no luck with that unit
I Dr Lincoln Town car for 30 years
Awh yeah?
how do you feel about the 2001 lincoln town car executive series?
Best used cars on the road that and the Mercury Marquis
Have an 04 Ultimate. Very inexpensive to purchase. Common failure easy and cheap to fix……..
DDM drivers door module took literally 10 min to replace. Cost of part $149
Air ride bags will leak. Got a kit including air bags, 2 rear shocks and a new compressor. $315. Took a couple of hours to install
That’s it. Great easy fix cars. Engines go 200-300k miles easy.
What brand of gas do you put in your Lincoln? Shell, speedway, marathon etc.
Usually either shell or Sam’s club. Never had issues with either, always 87
@@GetThisNick nice. It's usually Speedway sometimes Marathon. 87. I always like knowing what other panther people use.
I’ve read articles of people saying that they use 93 and they may of experienced a little bit better of MPG, but for me I just stick to the 87
@@GetThisNick same here. That premium is expensive!
It's not really the brain that matters but I always use top tier and you can find that at several places
I was in my town car today this weekend and I wasn't happy big car 03 cartier 65k I had it for12 years paid 10 grand at 43k I had it along time never saw Winters or rain since I bought it
I do have too say when I dropped off my friend at midway I had a limo driver catching my attention he gave me a thumbs up
At 65k miles it's just about broken in
I haven't seen a nice one for 5K? Much more!
$5,000 would definitely be higher mileage. Mine is at about 40,000 miles.. what do you think it’s worth?
@@GetThisNick $13 to $18,000 for a super clean one owner with under 70,000 miles. You can't even buy a new base Kia for less than $20,000.
The air suspension is cheap to maintain and fix. No reason to put springs. None.
I agree 100%!
Got a 96 town car a month ago for 1600. 83k on the clock
no supercharger
My 97 ltc with 240k miles feels like a rolls royce lmfao
@@kevinedwards8330 hard to beat that ride quality!
@GetThisNick great video 🤟
Good luck finding a good town car for 5k....these cars have increased in value in the last 3 years. I personally bought an 11 with 79k, and it cost me 14k......the cars that were 5k a few years ago are now going to 8-12k dollars.....
Just bought a 2004 with 98000 miles for $4500
There's tons of cheap ones still out there
Just bought a 98 Lincoln Continental with 150K for $2,200! Very well maintained. I love it so much ^_^ Not a single issue with it, and it’s so clean! Smoothest ride ever! I may not be one yet (as 29F), but I call it my granny boat ♥️ She so fly haha
Bruh i knew i recognized you from Skin Bones videos lmao
And going to go get a 2011 for 5000 with 75'000 miles
Has anyone figured out an easy way to get more power out of the V8?
@@wrestleswithangels 3.73 gears and a tune is a great start
Supercharger kits.
most cars in the last 20 years have been terribly uncomfortable. saying this is more comfortable doesn't really say much.
Unless you own or ridden in a Town Car you'll never experience the comfort this car has.
@@tyronesills9423 i drive a 2002 malibu in excellent condition and it's very comfy but i assume the town car has to be even better.
when i drive something like a ford focus it feels like it will break my back in half.
Mine got a sunroof
The last real american car!
New cars ride like shit. Ive been in suburbans brand new suburbans and brand new lexus and they rattle and beat and bang all over. If its not floating like a boat what r they doing? If i want a rough ride id get a muscle car or a truck.
No X in especially
Had 07 signature, needed riders side engine valve at 65 k mi. Rear axel bearings at 150k, dealer replaced the axels as the bearings roll naked on the shaft with no race, cheap way to do axels, grinding sound driving, really no problems after that, sold it at 240 k miles and still see it driving around 5 yrs later. No one mentions the chin killer door jamb? And the clock still worked perfect, digital dash was getting jerky.
so why do people give away 30-50k when they can get this for 5k and have a car that will outlast a new one!?!?!?!
Your guess is as good as mine brother
Since the Town Car was discontinued, the 300 would be the closest anyone could get, since it was full-size with a V8 and RWD. But now, there’s nothing to fill that void. This is why when Ford releases the Mustang Mach-4 sedan, they have to offer a Lincoln version as well.
If only it saved gas I would buy on ASAP😢
Om606 lincoln????
WGDR
V8 gas hog crazy
The Lincoln Town Car - 3rd Generation was produced from (1998 to 2011) not (2003 to 2011) as you stated and I should know because I have my late Fathers 1999 and its the same car but the design of the grill did change slightly later on.
But 2003 saw major improvements in the front end including rack and pinion steering and an improved front suspension for better handling.
I appreciate your video, but there's one thing that you didn't mention; and it's a big con against the Lincolns, as far as I know, the big boys were never that great with gas mileage
Screw gasoline mileage. It gets exactly the same mpg at a tiny car does when syuck in traffic - zero mpg.
But on an open highway I get 25 mpg at 80 mph in my 2003 Cartier and I am cruising in comfort.
That car is fine for you because you already have a girlfriend ;)
@@westhavenor9513 You could pick up a NICE sugar mama with one of these!
