- George Mayer calls Dave "western Canada's finest," and his watch collection might just be that too. The duo are sitting down today to discuss just that as they take us through the watches that Dave has collected with George as his friend and guide in the watch world.
This collection has some seriously impressive pieces, from a bright red Richard Mille, a rose gold and green dial Rolex Daytona, to some classic F.P. Journe pieces. There's too many pieces on the table to list, so tune in to find out!

It’s truly amazing the amount of hate that commenters throw. Just because someone buys expensive watches or house hold names doesn’t make them any less of a collector. If you don’t like RM or “X” brand then fine but a buyer doesn’t mean he’s any less of an enthusiast.
Great episode and love the variety of the collection.
Good conversation,,,, need to improve in showing the watches you are talking about.... some editing with close up of the pieces would be nice
These conversations should include more about the collectors. I always wonder where they are from and what they do for a living.
Great show. Close up shots on each watch would be better.
Nice collection and video!
The coolest thing for me was to see the lack of collector's attachment to a certain style of watch - he has a bit of everything.
The way to go folks.
Best,
Amintas
What a insane collection. Love the FP Journe, actually it's what I would buy if I had the money. Except the Richard Mille..
Another great video and love Dave's collection!
missing from this collection is probably the best of the 3 holy trinity brand's sport watch.. the Vacheron Constantin Overseas... the Rose Gold / Blue dial ideally...
enjoyed this very much, thanks and great collection. not sure why some of the commentators feel obliged to criticize. he enjoys them, it's his taste, leave the man alone
Best collector conversation to date. You can easily tell how much Dave loves his watches. That RM is absolutely gorgeous. Definitely my grail watch. Awesome video and interview George! Would love to see more collector conversations from HK, Neuchatel, and South Africa. Different perspectives.
Thanks for sharing your joy of having such a great collection. As a fellow Canadian I am proud of how cool Dave Terry is.
When you buy an FP Journe, just to wear it on a trip. 😳
Could really do without the background 'musak'. Was a down-on-his luck Greek Yamaha organ player passing and you decided to give him a break or something? One I was able to tune out the dirge, it was very interesting from the guy.
His collection is insane 😮
This man is a GOAT in the game. But, I’d love to have seen a few pieces from Langé. And, the Langé diss was just too much for me.
Wow! there is nothing more to be said cool collection
Great Video! Just wondering, what was the retail price on the yellow dial F.P. Journe? Thanks in advance!
I am proud of you guys
Good episode although the forum I'm on - The Rolex Forum - never pushes one model over another. People only discuss their own preferences.
Some cool watchs there chap ..well dune enjoy
what rolex are u wearing George?
This is what my collection would be if I had money lol
fellow Vancouver boy. Nice collection!
Ho- hum. A steel Nautilus is so predictable. A steel Calatrava now, that's something to aspire to!
Great interview until 16:11 background music added made it intolerable
I don't get why people are hating on RM. I love those watches and I have a few of them... they are beautiful pieces.
Well, Richard Mille is just a souless businessman. The watches are a very tacky and super expensive. I give you that he has at least a unique design and the watches hold value faily well or even increase. But then he uses mainly Parmegani and other costumer movements. At one point he had the same movement as a 1500 dollar Maurice Lacroix. Sure he does use a lot of interesting materials, but so does Hublot. And the marketing is ridiculous. Paying some sports people millions to wear the watches...
I really like some of his pieces 10, most 11,s 27s, but some others are not my cup o tea at all. I think some people dont like the fact that he can sell at such a high price, and is very successful,
tall poppy syndrome- happens a lot, good on him, I wish him all the more success. But I notice so many haters love to watch RM uploads, and do what their so good at....dont worry about those tossers, enjoy your collection.
cool guy with one phenomenal collection. wow.
RM is the next Franck Mueller just at a higher price point. Once the NFL and NBA go back to G Shock and Rolex the prices of RMs will drop. As far as this guy...he seems like he knows what he is doing, until he realized in order to stay young, he had to have a RM to drive his bright red Ferrari with!
Ok..I'll let you talk about the 5212.......once im done!!
Love his collection, but he doesn't have my grail watch the Timex Marlin.
All of these are great watches, but exactly the kinds of watches one would expect
Yup seen and heard it before......
Nothing out of the hight end ordinary
Ready for a blast from the past??!

Like what do people want people to collect, grönefeld, armin strom i mean come on
That mans got MONEY
I have yet to see any of these collectors with IWC, Glashuette Original, Omega, GS Or RGM.
All that many cool watches ... surely he can afford a pair of proper full length trousers!
What makes a more interesting video; an $80,000 Blaincpain 50 Fathoms tourbillion you bought for Hawaiian vacation vs your dad's $1000 Doxa diver you wore when diving to photograph shipwrecks in the Great Lakes.
A lot of very cool watches and amazing collection but what would make a collection like this exponentially more interesting, not better just more interesting, is instead of having 15,16,17 watches take the 5 - 6 out of the bunch that you would keep if you had to get rid of the rest and only focus on those in the video. The negative comments towards this collection I think is because if someone gave you $1,000,000 to buy a watch collection and you bought the Patek Nautilus, Patek Grand Complications, Rolex Pepsi GMT, A. Lange Datograph, Rolex Daytona, Royal Oak tourbillion etc. it would be a very expensive collection of "hot watches" but not very interesting as viewers have seem them all over and over and over. It would be like making a video of a 3 piece collection consisting of a Reverso, Speedmaster, and Submariner. Not bad watches and a great combo but just boring to view. Honestly when dealing with large collections watches in and of themselves aren't always interesting enough to make compelling videos. They really do need to have some meaning for the owner or something interesting about them to make a collection really stand out.
I couldn’t have put it better myself, I would really love to see a focus on collections that have special pieces with meaningful or fun stories, regardless of how much the watches cost.
Great show
Shorts?!
WOW! What a brave collector. Going out on a limb with all those Pateks, Rolexes, and FP Journes...
Right?! To boldly go... where ever other collector has gone before! 😆😆😆
the seller said that he is the buyers good friend/ friend but in fact, he got lots of facts wrong?
An amazing collection for sure! Not a huge RM fan, but the white strap one is more tolerable than the red one. I guess for him it represents a fun watch, kind of like a G-shock for me. The only downside is, with so many pieces, its hard to imagine he can enjoy them all, what a difficult problem to have!
Alright, new long term goal...
Get into F. P. Journes collectors club... At *any* cost.
Then, my life will be complete...
Must be awesome!!
Insane collection and that’s not even all of them 😂
Seems money is no object. Why go pre owned?
The Platona is the best Rolex ever!
Great video! yea u are right, Rolex have the best value!!
A collector not off the beaten path... surprise surprise
surprised there was no AP Royal......
Great collection! When you asked what might be next, how about a GF?
What a killer collection, except RM. Perhaps the most diverse prestigious group. Loved the video.
Dis this guy shit on Lange and yet has RMs?
I don't agree that the 5711 is not a entry level watch and that it should be something you obtain after buying "complicated" pieces. The point of the 5711 is being priced at a point where it is accessible for individuals to enter the brand. It's only then that people buy the complicated pieces.
Yes and no. In the Quartz Crisis that was indeed the point, to lure the youth back in. Now, after Patek makes only a few of them and investors buy them, Stern only wants to make them available for real collectors and uses them indeed as a reward.
"I'm more of a white metal guy"
THAS RASIS!!!!!!!!!!
But in all honesty, with the exception of a couple iconic watches like the sub/GMT/Royal Oak, most simply lack a soul.
love FP Journe watches,,,, nice collection but he could get better watches than RM.
Awesome hair implants
Anyone else think we are wasting our time and money collecting watches??? Having a few watches is a awesome thing but this social media controlled obsession is insane!
Ben Sona no not really
Social media says you must have a Sub and a Naut......
Great watches , it shows big money and small brain.
GO BIRDS!!
What's with the music??? So annoying!!!
This is good collection but who is this guy?
some one loaded ..
Just another rich guy.
CEO of HUB International
Nice video, Eh?
Best watches in town. His wife is one lucky gal. Pretty hot guy honestly.
lol.
Move over, Alfredo Paramico?
Is this Dave Guy supposed to be famous?
No, just a good Watchbox and Govberg costumer.
CEO of HUB International
Very expensive collection, unfortunately a cliche ,all the usual rich boys watches, nothing unique to his taste. A true victim of the hyped up watches. Looking at this collection I see money but not taste ...
Zsolt Hosszu-Szeleczki Sir, you have perfectly summed it up.
Green Daytona 🤮
I like the white gold Daytona with the blue dial, really stunning and under the radar
syl pascale isn’t it platinum?
@@Gregsheppo66 No, the Platinum Daytona has a Glacier Blue dial with the brown bezel, stunning but very expensive and very heavy and platinum is softer than white gold so scratches easily.
crass, boring collection. Also strange to have the host asking about prices and putting the guest on the spot
it's an awesome watch collection
That's a boring collection? What would be an awesome collection for you?
