Love this long, open forum type segment with collectors. As a watch guy, I don't really know any other watch guys, so it's cool to feel apart of a more conversational video where different topics and current events are discussed. Great video.
Should have made the video more about showing viewers the watches, instead of two talking guys.
Should let the collector talk more.
He doesn't seem to knowledgeable of his pieces , sound more like a watch investor hehe
@@Illinination53 Yup, many people just hate interviewers without understanding the pivotal role they play to direct the conversation, to better understand the lineage of the pieces. Yes, the original owner matters greatly, but this guy seems kind of one-dimensional if I'm being honest, which is to take nothing away from his tremendous sense of style.
@@Illinination53 Exactly. If it were up to the collector, the video would be 20 minutes of "I like rare watches and buy them because I like that they are rare, which is why I buy them. In conclusion, I like rare watches. They look good and are rare."
The most important thing should you consider when buying a watch, is that it completes you, NOT the fact that it is a difficult piece to find or that it is really hot. This is the classic behavior that brings up the costs on exclusive watches that have great demand. It is a very nice collection but I don´t see any true love from the owner. He just wants to be very exclusive and special inside his bubble!
Breathtaking collection! Congrats!!!
The Journe power trio is killer 😍
I just missed the stories behind the collection to be honest.
Would definitively explore it in future shows friends.
Best,
Amintas
Love the intro my guys, very slick. Great topics and conversation!
Thanks for the compliments on the production and the content!

PLEASE RETIRE THE USE OF THE WORD “TURB” 🙏🙏🙏
Good content video.....Great that Joe has a passion for watches and can afford some of the most expensive out there...Enjoy the journey Joe!
Wish Watchbox could do a segment with average collectors that have brands like Citizen, Seiko Orient, Oris etc. Instead of these high-end types. Give some of us Less fortunate collectors here a chance to see what others think about brands
not costing a kidney.
Great episode and amazing collection there.
Thanks David!

The FP’s on this table is making me drool.
5711 Tiffany dial is 🤯
Great job G$! Joe, you’ve got a killer collection.
"Everyone is a flipper." That attitude I don't think is correct. And, if it is correct, spells trouble for all real collectors for the future who buy what they like hype be damned.
Basically if you've ever sold a watch you owned people call you a flipper lol.
Patek pulled 10 ADs is the US this year with 10 more to follow next year. Maybe they are going in that direction?
The Jade Tourbillion is in my top three for sure.
Koz Me too!
That one is out of this world!

That's an incredible collection. It's the kind of collection I'd have if I won the lottery and just splurged it out on watches... Those 3 Journes are crazy.
Very good, excellent! He is so right about AP.
Thanks Steven, glad you love the video!
- WatchBox Team
Yeah... this guy doesn't strike me like someone who is collecting the watches for the same reason as some of the previous great guests. Doesn't seem to be that knowledgeable, is willing to pay 10x more if only it was one piece in the entire world... as somebody said, more an investor, not a watch enthusiast.
Very well said my friend!... this is a horrible person for the collecting world of watches.
Wonderful collection. Beautiful pieces. He loves his watches as much as a good investor likes his investments(see Warren Buffett). Great video!!!
I gave the 11.59 a chance. I scheduled a visit because I know to never judge a piece before seeing it in person. Damn...I gotta be honest, upon the wrist being wrapping in it....gotta say I have to agree. The chapter ring looks plastic (?) if that's a good word. Its quite thick...which was a turn off. Enamel dial and much thinner and I would have pulled the trigger.
Nice to see the Jade Tourb alive and beating. Only seen it in pics until now. 9:38-10:10 wow best part
Great episode.
Thanks for your support! Glad you like it Kevin!

That’s quite the collection for 5 years. Wear them in good health.
A stellar collection for sure!

great collection, I personally don't buy if i can't, touch it, feel it, smell it, etc etc, but i wouldn't bet against AP
Solid points there, thanks for sharing!

Really enjoyed the discussion, open and transparent re brands. Question if I may - Joe mentioned he likes ~38-40mm range, and that he is also a fellow admirer of Grand Seiko. I am considering the Spring Drive titanium diver and/or GMT w/the ceramic/sapphire bezel. Both of those are 44mm, pushing the envelope for me in terms of size. Better to be patient and wait until they roll out smaller (40-42mm) versions? Not drawn to Hi-Beat, prefer Spring Drive. Thanks
Definitely do not go for those larger Spring drives, they are amazing but sorry, the tacky look of the monstrosity case nope, they can go take a flying jump at the moon along with the other swiss brands that seem to want to break your wrist with their mickey mouse size watches. You have to keep the elegant line firm.
Buy what you like and don't let trends sway you. I have the Grand Seiko SD Chrono GMT which is on the large size but enjoy it on my 8" wrist. Bell bottom pants will be back someday too...
@@SM-wi1js They work fine on an 8" wrist. However, on my 6.25-6.50" the proportions are different.
10:04 Why I am the only one to write down that this FPJ jade dial is weird
On the dial it is written "seconde morte" french for dead beat. But the second swipes
Any explanation????
OMEGA is no longer showing at BASELWORLD. 2018 was the last year SWATCHGROUP showed at BASELWORLD.
And neither are Hamilton
@@thegorn yeah, I know. All of SWATCHGROUP is out.
Why buy a watch and not use it just crazzzzy. I am 58 years old and bought my first fancy watch a Rolex in 1988 and have had the addiction since but have never not used a watch ever and i have never sold one and most likely never will and i have over 3 dozen of them. Love them like them show them even rub them on yourself but use them most of all.
Amazing
Interesting interview and upscale collection. I would say the guests is a different collector from some in the past on this network, but it is nice we have all types of personalities that enjoy this incredible hobby. It is nice to see some of your patrons showing their collections. So many wonderful watches. Much respect indeed. Thanx for sharing. Keep up the good work.
Nice collection but didn't really feel any passion or connection with the watches to be honest.
You or the collector?
@@malthus101 The collector. It mostly boiled down to "got it cuz it's nice and rare"
@@lucioledizerot196 yeah... The more I thought about it after, I started to think that too. I mean, not taking the plastic off the Speedy Tuesday? Seems a bit odd. Like it's purely for investment. But wearing the Jade FP to a party? I'm pretty sure that FP will always be more valuable that the Speedy Tuesday. Strange.
What would you expect from a pretentious rich dude that has been collecting for 5 years and the only thing he cares about is exclusivity. This person on the show has NO idea on what collecting is about!
Of course not, once you have money in the equation there is no passion. All these "Collectors" buy watches that will make them money or that will increase in value. That's not a problem, it's just not passionate collection but rather a terrible investment. Yes, watches are terrible investments unless they are immediately flipped for more.
well I think if you go into a Rolex or Omega boutique, you can try on all the watches of that brand that you want - at least in Miami you can
Not in London - they don't have anything, it's bullshit. They should all keep one of each just for display and trying.
I bought a Patek Constantin.... a very nice quartz
You didn't discuss the Resonance!
why are you winding and playing with ppl’s watch? i find you so dame rude to play with ppl’s watch.
it's like fondling their genitals
He’s been watching hodinkee too much...
4:40 Can’t wait to see Omega launch something special at Basel, especially as they won’t be there!
Nothing from OMEGA this year at BASELWORLD. They are out. All SWATCHGROUP is out. 2018 was the last year they showed.
Rolex GMT's were worn on the moon. Breitling, Seiko and many many other watches have been into space. I'm pretty over the whole moon thing. Omega moonwatch fatigue - it's a real thing.
@@thegorn I don't even believe we went to the moon anyways. There are just to many things that don't add up.
i disagree with your comment , 36mm is not the way to go , nor the 46mm. the mid rage 40mm to 42mm is here to stay , 5711 PP and Aquanaut anniversary is leading the market ..
Tim Mosso spoted in Miami!!! NEWS AT 11
Not sure if the industry is coming back ... they say they do but reality shows it doesn’t ...the majority of people be then poor of rich still want huge watches... I wish the day date and the date just was in 38 ..
Is it just me or does he look like a Cop?
What if he looked like a "whatever"? What is your point? What if he is?
@@SM-wi1js My point being was what cop can afford almost a million dollar in watches? If he is a cop and can afford those watches on his salary sign me up.
No Michael Kors? No MVMT? Subpar collection j/k lovely FP pieces
You got jokes man, you got jokes * *slaps knee* *

18:00 "Not a huge Lange Guy". Really? Considering the similarities in style between Lange and FPJ, that's a surprising statement. While it's perfectly fine to prefer one over the other, you gotta admit it's a weird sounding bias.
Sorry, but the speedy Tuesday with the plastic still on is tacky. Nice collection for a super rich guy otherwise.
He's not a collector/enthusiast. More of an investor who occasionally plays with his investments.
I like the collection, but I feel the interview was a bit shallow. Getting better though, then I wish it was with Tim or Brian...
Thanks for watching and taking the time to give your feedback!
- WatchBox Team
That fake smile at 12:00 hahhaah
Another rich guy buying watches sight unseen. Buys watches by the truckload. Boring.
this guy is worried if patek
will sell only cause he thinks hell loose money ....hum not a collector
Is it really that rare to be able to try on watches? They didn't have any GMT's but a Rolex AD let me try on anything they had the other day.
Steven Sharp yes it is for the more rare pieces. Go into an AD and try and get your name on the waiting list for a non date Submariner for instance. You’re unlikely to even get your name on a list for the rest of this year.
Great episode but… if I ever show you my collection NEVER unscrew a single crown, I would feel raped!
A Journe Turb? What's that!!??!
STOP MAKING VIDEOS HIGHLIGHTING WEALTHY GUYS THAT MASQUERADE AS WATCH ENTHUSIASTS THAT ONLY BUY THEM FOR BRAGGING RIGHTS AND INVESTMENTS. THIS GUY IS AS MUCH OF AN ENTHUSIAST AS I'M A JET FIGHTER.
A bespoke Swiss watch should accentuate and convey an overall look and image. I cannot imagine any of those fabulous watches looking cool on his wrist, even the top looks like he wore it whilst painting the house. All that wealth yet the taste in good dress seems worlds away from his connoisseur taste in watches.
He should help poor children instead
Mihaiukuk how do you know that he doesn't? Such a stupid comment.
Close to 20 PAMs! lol. He finally woke up and dumped those shitters.
More WATCHY less Talkie :-)
Wow....these guys lack enthusiasm...I guess money can't buy you happiness
9:15 - 10:45 oh that jade FP.... my god
