“Fixing” jealousy is a slippery slope. Unless you know 100% that you are feeling irrational jealousy, then you are shooting yourself in the foot. There is a reason we experience jealousy. The trick is to not let it control you.
It doesnt bring much to the message of the video. I think truły understanding that pain is indeed your friend and "is the hand that pushes you out of bad waters" is much more important
Bro. I want to tell you that I am so happy I found your channel mate. I never comment on a video, but for you I must because you’re going to take off sooner rather than later and I need to tell you that are a G mate. I appreciate your content big time. It is ridiculously refreshing to hear somebody my age talk about the acquisition of good character and living life based on virtue rather than what all the self improvement industry likes to tell you instead. Keep it up brother. You have my subscription.
On a scale of 1 - 30 (with 30 being the best) this video is a 29.8. (Because of the placement of the mic) Pro tip: Go off script more. ...this channel is underrated.
Needed this, got crisis tatted on myself because my biggest phase of growth came from pain, in spite of that i been avoiding it for a while without realizing it. my only way out of this rut is to invite pain again. Thanks!
When I heard you talking about how you dealt with jealousy I tried to think of pain that I avoid. For me the closest way u can relate is regret. Regretting any action I took and not being able to sleep thinking about it that night. If I try thinking about other things my mind goes away from it for awhile but It always pops in my head when I try to sleep again. I’ve learned to deal with it instead by thinking about if it was really the wrong choice or if I was faced with the same situation if I should do something else. I think this has been where a lot of growth has come from and it aligns perfectly with the pain and progression concept
I've just discovered your channel and I am amazed - you are incredibly talented and well thought out. However, there's one thing that nags at me when I watch your videos that I'd love to get your insight on. I have a feeling that you have tunnel-visioned yourself into a very unique mindset - which has caused you to do great things - but I can't imagine you getting on well with the average person if you talk to them the way you talk in your videos. I think you have a lot more "hunger" than the average person, and that has caused you to do amazing things. (It's also challenged you in ways the average person isn't, and I think the way you've negotiated this is really admirable). I think now you find yourself in a space online where you're talking with other people who have the same "hunger" as you. This is a bit of an echo chamber. For example, before you explain your philosophy in this video you make a disclaimer: "While I don't discount the role of predispositions I'm fairly certain that just about anybody can learn it" - clearly you've thought about the point I'm making (you really are a very well thought out guy) but I just think you're minimising the difference between people's natural mindsets, and I wonder if you've considered that you are a unique case and so the learnings you have may not help the average person and (may) cause them to stray towards your worldview (which is necessary for a person with "hunger" like yourself, but may cause unnecessary suffering for the average person, because most people are happy with the life they've inherited, and it's anxiety-inducing to think otherwise). I'll try put it clearer: "I think everybody has that voice in their head that tells them they're meant for something bigger" - you say this in your video "for when you doubt yourself" and the voice is the "hunger" I'm talking about that I think you have. I really don't think everyone has as strong a voice in their head as you do. That's why most people are happy living a safer life. The people that enjoy your videos are similar to yourself and have "hunger", but the side-effect is that one ends up in an echo-chamber, where you develop elaborate philosophies and a culture which separates your growing online community from the rest of the world. It's easy to lose sight of this the more you pursue making content here, but have you considered much the fact that the more you rework your inherited beliefs, the more alienated you become from your local, real-world social group? I think this applies to people who come to your videos and they may not be so ready to face harsh banter from their friends when they decide to pursue Bitcoin or drastically rework their personality.
The question is: Why should it be the goal to be good with everyone? Why should you compromise on your way of living, just so you fit in? I think, you shouldn't. Through speaking your truth, which my be this kind of ambition & hunger, you attract the few people that think the same. And I can honestly tell you: Feeling you are true to yourself and sharing your true-self with other people is something I would never want to go away from, since I have been there.
I didn’t look for THIS video, but I needed it. It’s so fascinating what you come up with to distract yourself from the reality. And how you put yourself in a very bad position… most of the time it’s just yourself that is the problem for yourself. Some people don’t build a better version of themselves, but a wall that keeps them away from all the good ideas they could have.
This video has resonated with me a lot, I've been avoiding a lot of stuff recently and feel like these days it is so easy to actually do that. That is not an excuse though. Thank you for showing me the truth, even though I think most of the people watching already know this deep down, but don't want to face the pain head on. Same as me.
Hey Angelo, don't know if you'll see this, but I wanted to say I'm grateful for your videos. Maybe it's because you had a different upbringing through homeschooling and being self taught but you have a unique perspective on things. I'd like to ask if there are any books you'd recommend reading. Thank you!
@@bstew2259 hey bro! Funnily enough I just posted a book list on my Instagram story today @angelo.somers :) will be posting takeaways and thoughts on Patreon too
Angelo your thumbnails are fire, I’m tryna get into graphic design and I wanna know how do you make them? This one’s really striking and clean with the bold lettering and the blue and red colours. What software do you use (if you do make them yourself) and what fonts are those in the thumbnail (esp the bold one I fw it)? Keep up the grind, it’s pretty clear to me that you’re gonna be a success as long as you keep being as dedicated as you clearly are, you seriously have that X factor that distinguishes you from all the fakes and frauds in this washed up down bad state the masculinity self improvement niche is in rn
You are a very great inspiration for me in a really hard time of my life. You also remind me of myself in many cases. Keep on doing what you do Angelo I am sure you doing the right things. :D
I'm not a naturalist, so we disagree on some of the finer points, yet though the source is different for the origination of pain, its current purpose appears to be similar to what you're saying, especially in mental pain, given a medical condition isn't involved (Bipolar, psychosis at the time, etc.). I think that for video ideas, you should consider looking into the book of Proverbs; a lot of the sentiments that you express are familiar to me because of that book. Likewise, Ecclesiastes summarizes so much of the vanity of life that I never felt more validated than reading those 10 pages or so, perhaps ever. Like your channel so far, you put a lot of work in, even shared your journey vid with my buddy; I'm pretty picky man, I think you're cooking!
I've been watching the movie limitless for a long time ago, and the more I repeat it the clearer it gets, when Eddie was first making those small changes it felt amazing and enjoyable, but as the time goes by the movie gets intresting in another way, but kinda boring actually, and that makes me wonder, how he kept going without having the same levels of dopamine hits he was getting at first, and how he didn't gave up even tho he had so many big problems, this applies to my life, when I start improving my self, it feels good at first, but later on it gets really boring, then I start having too many problems, puting me in a downwoard spiral that I wouldn't escape untill I feel some kind of motivation or inspiration, this is why I'm not consistent, angelo if you're seeing this, can you talk about this topic plz?
