Tank Wars | Dragon Blood Cichlid Determined To Kill

I have 3 Dragon Blood Peacock Cichlids (Aulonocara Sp). Today I noticed there was only 2 swimming around. So I went ‘fishing’ for the other one. After looking hard and moving some rocks I found it at the bottom on my tank behind some rocks. I looked at it to determine if anything was wrong with it and discovered that it had one of its eyes a little cloudy, more like it had been injured (if you look carefully you’ll see how the right eye when the fish is facing you looks a little different from the other eye). Its back fin also looked like it had been bitten away and I realised that it was being attacked.
I decided to net it out and place it in a separation basket. This way I can monitor it more closely and give it time to recover.
After some hours I came back and found the culprit. The other dragon blood was going for it through the net. The video shows how the war continues with the net between them. These are two male cichlids.
I decided to catch the culprit and also separate it for the night as I won’t be able to monitor what happens.
I’m hoping to keep them isolated for a few days and then release and monitor.
