Fungus Disease on Geophagus Brasiliensis Cichlid
My two males have been fighting and so one has come out with what looks like a fungus disease. I haven’t treated as yet. I’m not 100% sure if I should treat and how? Any suggestions will help if you know how to treat this kind of thing.

Dragon Blood African Cichlid Recovery
Просмотров 49321 день назад
This little cichlid was badly attacked and at the point of death. Little fish died and lived. I had to separate it for quite a number of weeks for it to regain its health. Now it’s happily swimming around again, although the larger male does have its moments now and again. #africancichlids #aquarium #fishtank

Baby Plecos Out Dragon Blood Survives
Просмотров 293Месяц назад
My Baby Plecos were both out today, which a very rare thing. They’re busy as usual cleaning up my tank of algae. The dragon blood that sustained serious injuries from an attack from another male has lived. It has healed beautifully. Just a bit difficult to catch the wounded side on camera. But it can be seen here and there in the video when it turns. #aquarium #fishtank #africancichlids
Nimbochromis Livingstoni Malawi (Hap) Cichlid Aggressive Behaviour
Просмотров 603Месяц назад
This hap has been pretty aggressive for some weeks now. It has pushed away all the other fishes. These type are aggressive and predators. Mainly living in solitary areas and territorial. They love digging and this can be seen in the corner of the tank how the sand is in a pile. It is breeding season and I don’t have a female of its kind so it just stays in that corner being very aggressive. Her...

Nice ❤❤❤
Thanks 🤗
Excellent set up, beautiful fish.
Thank you for watching 😊
I’m gonna do this with my 125 soon
Fun thing to do trust me!!
Thats such a cool tank! Those two haps are battling for dominance. I hope they dont kill each other in the process.🙂👍
Thank you. So far so good. They’re still alive and well. 😊
Overstocking is GREAT to me! As long as you have the filtration to support them I don't see a problem!
Thank you. I believe the two filters are doing their job. I don’t feed them much as well. 🙂
Nice tank … size ?
Thank you. This is a 100gal (approx 380l) tank.
Why have you left it in that long with those injuries?
I don’t know to be honest. I don’t have another tank that I could separate it into. Do you have any suggestions or advice?
Tank looks great
Thank you😊
A Beleza do mar um lugar onde tem tamanho
Boa Noite, tem quantos peixes e qual o tamanho do aquário ?
Boa noite. Não sei quantos peixes tenho agora. O tanque é de 100 galões.
Malawi Hawk Cichlid
Thank you.
Cool tank and fish . My only critique which isn’t really anything important would be to remove some rock and give your fish a little more room . That’s just me though , don’t ruin the vibe in the setup over my comment .
Thank you 😊. The rocks do seem a lot but really they’re towards the back of the tank. The front is pretty free space for the fish to swim around. I also have too many fingerlings hiding in the rocks and crevices so I dare not move them right away. Appreciate your comment.
mate, isn't that tank way too small for so many fish?
The tank is 100gallon. I’ve also got two big canister filters for it.
@@CichlidLove Canisters or any filtration doesn’t equate to good water quality. Algae loves nitrates and seeing how that tank is so heavily overstocked I’d check your actual water parameters and reevaluate how to stock a fish tank.
@@HUKIT. Thanks for this advice. I will be checking my water quality and update.

African, American, mbuna... did I see a jaguar 😂 awesome tank. How big?
Thank you. No I do not have a jaguar. Tank size is 183x45x45cm.
Poetry in motion. In your opinion what would be the best size tank for a Frontosa tank of say 4 or 5 small ones to watch them grow I have access to a 330 lt corner tank curved front.
Thank you. This tank is 380litres. I have two big canister filters on each side. African cichlids like Frontosa are better kept in larger groups as it helps with the aggressive behaviour. The fewer they are the easier it is for them to target each other and kill.
how many gallons?
100 gallons
My cichlid tank looks about the same with American Cichlids mixed in with Africans. The upside with this many fish is reduced aggression. The huge downside is the frequency of water changes.
True. How often are your water changes?
@@CichlidLove 75 percent once a week. I've got too many tanks, I spend every Sunday just draining and refilling my tanks and it never fails I get water all over the floor.
@@martingranzow6624 Wow😃😃 So you’re draining 75% once a week?? You’re busy! How’s your water hardness? Are you having to do anything to the water?
@@CichlidLove I test my water for nitrates and within a week they are high. I have a couple 55 barrel drums and fill them with tap water, let them sit over night with an aerator and heater. My filters and gravel have crushed coral for water hardness.
@@martingranzow6624 I see. How often do you feed your cichlids?

Fun part in the video where the Pearl is throwing sand over the Pleco at 1:55. I always find my Pleco covered in sand and wonder why.😂
I’ve been looking for someone with successful a mix like this as I plan to do something similar! A species break down vid would be stellar🤌🏼

Hey bro make a video on your filtration too
I will😊
Wooow beatufuil
Thank you😊.
Man!!! Beautiful tank!!! How do u keep ur water so clear with so many fishies bro? 🤔 nice tank though 😊
Thank you😊. Good filtration and less feeding. Keep on top of your water changes.
Every Sunday bro!!! I think my problem is over feeding. I let them mess with my head & everytime i get home from work they come up to me like their starving!!! 😅😂 ill work on it man, thank u!!!
@@marcoscastillo1650 You’re welcome. I feed them a stingy handful every 2-3 days. My water changes are fortnightly. This is a YT short I made when I fed my fish after 5days. Just enough for them to catch before it falls to the bottom. ruclips.net/user/shortsqskTfv3Re28?si=iUgY_lhaajvhaVKf
Wow i didnt know african cichlids and south american cichlids are happy together
In this tank, they seem to be getting along just fine. 😊
May i know what accessories and filters you used in this tank?
@@shamsshanu4724 Sure. I will make a video on this soon. I use 2 canister filters 2700l/h and 2400l/h on either side.
Key moments are at 37:56 50:00
it's either good or bad depending on how you look at it. The fish all look healthy and are not beaten up by each other so from that aspect all good. if it is astatically pleasing to have that many fish together and also from different continents is a different question. If your goal was to recreate a natural environment/biotoop it is not done well. but it seems like your goal was to have lots of beautiful fish together in a glass box, you most definitely succeeded! if the Oscars continue to work out in that tank with these tank mates? Time will tell . It's won't hurt to have a plan made up for when things are not working out anymore. The most important opinion is your own opinion as it is your tank. good luck and don't let other peoples opinion affect you.
Thank you for your advice. I will be definitely monitoring the fish and adapt. My goal is for the fish to be healthy.
Beautiful
Thank you.😊
Odd to see south american cichlids mixed witth african cichlids. I have a 125 packed with fish. I do water changes every other week and i filter with an fx6. No water quality trouble
You seem to have a great filtration system going on there, which in my opinion is important if you have a whole lot of fish. Also keeping up with water changes. This tank is about 380litre with two canister filters, 2700l/h and 2400l/h on either side.
It's good, until you have a better filtration system
Yes a good filtration is necessary.
Can’t be good
Why though? Do you have any reasons why it can’t be good?
bro look after ur fish properly and give em a bigger home that overcrowded
Thank you for the suggestion. How big do you think this tank is?
@@CichlidLove a bit gigger than whats in the frame they look insanely crowded
@@GtSharo-io4uq I’m not sure about being ‘insanely’ crowded. Please watch this video, it may give a better perspective. Let me know what you think 😊 ruclips.net/video/rX7YHtpZc7U/видео.htmlsi=lCgoCNMvh7IzcKys
Can Peacock be placed with Oscar?
My peacocks seem to be doing fine together with my Oscars. I do not know if this is the right thing to do or not; or there’s a better way?🤔
I’m anxious as to whether this fish will produce a lot of fry. Also with the knowledge that these Geophagus Brasiliensis have a fast growth rate. They might take over my tank…🤔
Let me know what you think/know about overstocking African Cichlids.
nice tank, i only said it looks insanly packed because the frame was showing a quarter
@@GtSharo-io4uq Sure I understand. Thank you.😊
I LOVE that you have a mix of S. American with the African cichlids! I’ve done this with my African Cichlids also and I have to say the S. Americans helped curb the African’s aggression way better than just having the Africans all by themselves. 😉 Your tank is beautiful!!! Thank you for sharing it. My Blood Parrot turned out the best the perfect referee for my fish. She has since passed on and I’m thinking of adding my 2 y/o Gold Severum in there instead. I’m just not sure how tame or scared she’ll be once I put her in there though. Any thoughts?
Thank you kindly. Yes I agree, the Africans have such strong temperaments and they do need other type of fish to ‘tame’ them a little😂. Makes the tank a little more interesting imo. What I would suggest is introducing it but separate it so the other fish get used to it for a number of days or weeks. Then release it and monitor. If it gets battered separate it again to heal and release. I have some videos I did when I recently introduced my juvenile Oscars and this worked really well. Now they’re part of the family and defending themselves very well and not being attacked as much as when I first introduced them. Some links to the relevant videos: ruclips.net/user/shortsLvAsR9QqqWk?si=zZ3ps105EJ3XyRRj ruclips.net/video/RBglZA6hc_U/видео.htmlsi=trn1ESbM8-zGMB1y ruclips.net/video/JPGwk2QR7h8/видео.htmlsi=PYhlvME7n4Y0Etff ruclips.net/video/fVmPL6ALDrc/видео.htmlsi=ZwrUOPFZclpTftMi In this last video 👆the juvenile Oscars can be seen in their cages.
@@CichlidLove I just watched the last video you recommended. It was really funny to watch the peacocks casually hover over the Oscar as he and your hap were fighting. I see what you mean by keeping them penned until everyone settles and I do have floating pond plant baskets I’ve used in the past for exactly that purpose. However, my Severum is unfortunately way too big to fit in one of them. LOL Maybe…. I could cut out some of the light diffuser and create a wall within the 75 gallon? That way I can partition everyone on either side and I’ll still get good water movement too. Hmm... 🤔 I’ll let you know how this goes when I get a chance to try this out. Thanks for the videos too. I love your tanks!!
Lindo!!!
Gracias. 😊😊
Don’t keep oscars with cichlids
I disagree. You can keep oscars with other cichlids if the tank is crowded enough and have little to no issues even in the long-run.
@DesiDhumal Why is this?🤔
I haven’t had any issues as yet with the Oscars or any of the other cichlids.
@@prisoner5629 The movement of oscars are slow, and cichlids have fast movement and they are aggressive too, i kept my oscar with cichlids , cichlids starting bulling oscars.
@@DesiDhumal I see. I had some bullying issues especially with the two new Oscars I added. I had to separate them for some days for the other fish to get used to them. Now I don’t seem to have much of that happening. The Oscars seem pretty comfortable and defend themselves. Look at my other videos/shorts (links below) where I show the fish separated and also the scars they got when I introduced them. ruclips.net/video/JPGwk2QR7h8/видео.htmlsi=tVk68C5nDk6adORL ruclips.net/user/shortsLvAsR9QqqWk?si=AaXY_cxR-zp4fet0
Start with a light feeding and work your way back up over the next few days
Thank you. This is very helpful. 👍 I have given them one feed since.
@@CichlidLoveoff topic but i think you would be better off removing some of the rocks. You have haps and mbuna. Mbuna literally means rockfish but haps are open water swimmers and prefer open spaces, same with the Oscar. If it were mine, I’d do a low pile of rocks with small caves along the bottom and leave the top 2/3 open space. Just my opinion
@@NotSure876 Thank you for the suggestion. The rocks are more to the back half of the tank. The whole front is clear of rocks to allow for free space.
@@CichlidLove oh gotcha

@@yashbhoir2087 Thank you. I will.
@@yashbhoir2087 not feeding for 5 days keeps your water clear as well
@@Someoneonthisplanet1979 That’s true. The water was clear. My only worry is the bigger fish might have got a little hungry and start going for the smaller fish. I wonder what a good balance might be with regards to how long the feeding intervals are and also keeping the fish happy and not going for each other. 🤔
You aquarium sucks because it is a prison for fish not a natural ecosystem for fish to live in it a poisonous glass box that if you don't water change twice a week your fish would die say no more
Thank you for this advice. Point taken. The fish seem happy. I stay on top of the water changes to keep the water quality good. Also two big filters which are cleaned out regularly.
