Hi thanks. How many fish will depend on your filtration and also how much rocks you can have in your tank. The idea is to have enough fish just to curb aggression. More rocks will give the fish more hiding places so allowing you to add more fish. Another consideration is the water change routine.

The rocks give the fish more hiding places, reducing aggression. Also good surface for algae to grow creating a great environment with the necessary bacteria for the aquarium.

@@CichlidLove or maybe don't stock it this way in the first place and purchase a second tank before the fish. I get your name but obviously this is crazy overstocked and not even by a little bit. Generally animal abuse and surprised your showing it on the internet.

Hello. My filtration is quite simple. 2 canister filters 2700l/h and 2400l/h on either side.

@@CichlidLove Damn that is some huge filtration. The water seems so clear !

It’s crystal clear almost all the time except after a clean and feed. Which tends to clear out pretty quickly after running through the filters.

shame on the lack of swim room for the fish - yes looks good with so much to look at but really the fished are so squished in and can barely move without touching

@@yeayea2499 75gallon I had the Oscar's from baby about 3in with 2 african cichlids they grew up together and kept reproducing for over 2 years

At the moment I have 3 Oscars, two smaller, Tiger and Red Oscar’s and the bigger Red Chilli. I am looking into another tank because my Africans have been breeding a lot too adding to the population. Thank you for your advice.

To overstock or not to overstock? How much is too many?

Hi thank you for your advice. I did end up separating the fishy and it healed up very impressively. It’s now back in the tank with all the other fish and doing very well. 😊

Yeah. 😢 It’s one of my little baby mbuna. I have quite a lot of those as they’re constantly breeding.

Tank dimensions 380litres. Approx 100gal 183x45x45cm. 72x18x18inch I lost count. There’s so many more little fishes behind the rocks as mine are constantly breeding.

I haven’t treated it. Treating it meant treating the whole tank for that one fish. I have removed it and left the one male, that should help with easing off the stress between the two males.
